That last bit... that got the heart pumping. Looking forward to part 2. Respect to all the Legionaries and all the armed forces of Ukraine.
Thank you. These guys are my absolute heroes.
I am a 20 year old man deep in contemplation of this cause. To see foreign volunteers like this is deeply inspiring to me. Shifting the calculus of decision making ever more so towards this, to fight for what is right, to follow destiny, whatever it is. To protect the innocent from the maw of Russian destruction. To protect a world I cannot seem to inhabit fully myself perhaps. If they can do it, so could I. So I might.
Your neighbour is a hero. In the ancient conception, and this is an ideal I strive towards. God bless him.
@@hugejackedman7423 Doing the right thing is often, even usually, the hardest thing. Good luck with your decision. Speaking from a girl’s perspective, and personally, the men who have volunteered to fight for Ukraine are the most attractive men on the planet because they fight for freedom, democracy, and for what is right. They are protectors, not only of Ukrainians, but of girl’s like me, able to feel safe in my city tonight because of them. Where I live is what ru refers to as “next.” This is a very serious decision to make as the likelihood of being seriously hurt or worse are high, but there is no greater calling in today’s world, as I see it. The future of the entire world is being decided in Ukraine, the future all future generations must endure. If and when this arrives at my door, despite my age and sex, I will fight. I believe Ukraine will stop P4tin, but we must all be ready, particularly those of us close by. Best of luck in your life, no matter what you decide. I feel a genuine sense of affection toward you that you are even considering it. For me, these guys are truly heroes. I mean it with my whole heart. ❤️🫂
@Pietro4308 Ciao. Thanks. I will check it at that time. Glory to the Defenders of Ukraine. 🤗💙💛
@Pietro4308 Thank you my friend. That means a lot. God bless you in your life too, I hope we all find what we’re looking for.

Most of these guys check the blocks for traditional soldiers of fortune: experienced professional soldiers looking to fight in another war or blue collar civilians bored at home and looking for an adventure/cause. Some come across a little different, though, such as Luka. And Hobbit. That man had just had a bad time recently, is wired differently, or maybe is just Finnish.
@@MM22966 yeah you’ve gotta give it to hobbit it’s clear as day that mans heart is in the right place and he cares about the people he’s fighting for/with.

I can't even imagine the stress Kenobi must have been under, doing all the jobs in the chain of command with no delegation, and in the middle of an invasion. He must have drank lots of tea/coffee.

Dont know wtf is with the algorithm since this vid should be more on the surface. Real good insight from people who are actually there and fighting. Real heroes.
Thanks to all these heroes for their altruism and their bravery.
Wow intense ending
Great interviews. Its always the combat medics who looks the most "worse for wear". Hobbit has seen some shit.
Yeah, most sad part is even if he survives the war it probably will only make his pain worse without having that important purpose anymore and going back to civilian life and being left behind by society/government

@@Hobbit_UA genuinely wish you well mate, i hope my comment didn’t seem like I was being an ass. Great video.
Would love to hear these mercs comment on how the russians are fighting. Not just "they're good" or "they're bad." I mean how they organize and execute at the squad, platoon, company and battalion level; why, when and how they bring support in (arty, tanks, air); that sort of thing. Can't really get anything out of the russian wargames and the videos they release, because it all looks kinda like a reenactment of the Battle of Kursk.
Meat wave is how they do Tactical operations and scorched Earth that is how you can explain Russia's military tactics
Not there but know people that were, quality levels and organization of Russian units varies massively by unit and at different points in the war, there is no 'standard' on how Russian troops fight.
At the start of the war the Russians were organised around Battalion Tactical Groups, but these proved impossible to properly resupply leading to heavy losses, so their survivors were consolidated into larger Soviet style brigades.
Training is a mess and individual brigades handle their own basic training which can vary from three months to just three days. The quality of equipment basically depends on the unit's sponsors and access to independent capital, some are trained on par to NATO and outfitted with the best gear while others force their own troops to pay for ammunition and throw prisoners, kidnapped migrant workers and invalids into frontal assaults.
The Russian army is basically a roll of the dice thats held together by sheer numbers and plentiful wartime production of ammunition. There is no other way to fight it other than maintaining a healthy grinding kill ratio with better precision weaponry and technological supremacy.

Still watching. This is truly fascinating. Seeing these modern adventurers serving for their cause is inspiring.
That's the thing, if you come as a fighter, you must fully comprehend and be devoted to UKRAINE'S cause not that of your own - to "be deployed", "got bored with construction work", etc... Much respect to everyone fighting for the Ukrainian cause, but maaan, some of these guys seemed sooo sketchy with their reasoning and understanding of things...

Thank you for this info! Thank you for staying on the right side of history, even though you are impartial!
Do not use that term, it is dangerous. There is no right side of history, there is only history, and claiming there is a right side oversimplified and in many cases corrupts history, that is dangerous as a people that doesn't know their history is doomed to repeat it.

@@MaximumEfficiency Mercs arent part of the official state military. Wagner was (or is, are they even a unit after the mutiny?) mercs since they were a private entity under Pregoz. The Russian military could ignore their casualty stats since they werent a part of the Russian military. The first dude talking said he got straight into French SF as a legionnaire or actual French SF idk dudes story seemed off
Sounded like he was talking about the FFL and not some French SF unit where you need a french passport. The FFL takes anyone, especially if they have prior combat training.
@@johan8969 thanks I thought so and is FFL considered SF or just regulars
@@S.huddo-db3ew LLE is considered elite, and get Commando training, but they are not SF. They do contribute soldiers who volunteer for the French SF units. At 43:30 he says he was 2em REP, the French Foreign Legion Paratroopers. They are the ones that get Commando and some SF training. Really good and hard soldiers.
@@PalleRasmussen Abselutely, but I dont think the FFL are allowed to operate within France due to them not technically being French unless it is a military emergency. They are like the International Legion in Ukraine, hired and paid by the Defence Ministry so NOT mercs (unlike Wagner), but they do have limits.
@@johan8969 it is a long time since that prohibition. They fought on French soil in 1870, 1914-18, 1939-45. Their HQ and at least two regiments are also based in Metropolitan France.
