Rupaul not understanding Valentina as Eartha Kitt doing Izma impression is the funniest
This plus RuPaul not knowing that Elektra Shock was playing Catherine O'Hara as Moira Rose on Schitt's Creek during Drag Race Down Under's Snatch Game is pretty telling that he doesn't seem to do the research on some of these people before judging them. He uses a lot of '70's and '80's references, but doesn't know anything about more current stuff?
It wouldn't matter if they were funny.
Let's be real Rupaul is still living in the 80's, his old mind can't comprehend present events, i pray for him 😰

I watched it on repeat. It just goes to show how bad it is. That happened before lattice turned and told her “this is not your moment shhhh”. I honestly half expected Latrice to walk off at one point!

As a kid who grew up in the early 2000s, I actually do get a kick out of Valentina's "Pull my lever" line, even if it didn't make sense in the moment. For many people born in that same era, Eartha Kitt IS Yzma so I find that moment a little amusing

Ru doesn’t keep up with anything after 1990, so she fully thought Valentina wasn’t quoting anything

I love that Manila did her best at the end to keep Latrice calm and not break character too much during the snatch game. Even made the joke work in her favor.
11:42 when Manila said "shut up"... girlie wasn't even in character. she was genuinely telling Gia to shut up. iconic.
Gia Gunn's impersonation is probably the worst impersonation on Rupaul's Drag Race ever! First of all, she's not even did Jenny, she did a whole new different character. Jenny Bui is Cambodian, but Gia did Japanese greeting and accent. Jenny Bui is a nail technician yet Gia never has any jokes/punchlines that reference nails and all of their aspects. Also, the character that Gia played is very inappropriate and graphic. Jenny wouldn't talk about sex abruptly, gurl. And miss thing turned out to be the only queen to be eliminated in Snatch Game TWICE. She deserves it. I also love how Manila, Monique, and Latrice collectively shut Gia up after all of her shenanigans.
You know, it’s worth mentioning that, after Gia’s Snatch Game performance here, Jenny Bui herself called Gia out for her awful performance. It’s bad enough that she didn’t seem to have any jokes for this character. But to get her heritage wrong at that? Gia portrayed her as Japanese, saying things like こんにちは and so on, but Jenny is Cambodian or something. Like Gia couldn’t think of any Japanese celebrities to do? I mean, Suki Doll just did Yoko Ono on Canada’s Drag Race (granted, she got eliminated doing her), Gia could’ve probably made that work somehow.
I don't like gia but she was also planning to do Caitlyn Jenner for her snatch game but she couldn't so jenny was her last choice
@@aarondelgs8583 but even if she was a backup, Gia should at least know the basic things about her if there’s a chance she’d have to resort to playing her. And doing things like getting her nationality wrong is not only not funny, it runs a strong risk of being offensive. And I don’t think Gia would’ve wanted that.
As I said earlier, Yoko Ono would’ve been a more fitting alternate choice for Gia. She actually IS Japanese, there are quite a few well-known things about her that people can connect with (another thing about Jenny Bui, as far as I know, she’s not really that well-known a figure. So how are people supposed to get the jokes if we don’t know who this person is?). And for Snatch Game Of Love, given the person Yoko is most known to be with and what people say about their relationship, there is material there to make it work.
@@aarondelgs8583 Not sure if I remember correctly but I read somewhere that Trinity’s and Gia’s whole ”what you wanna do isn’t necessarily what you’re gonna do” drama was fake. Trinity and Gia just wanted to make good tv. So idk if Caitlyn even was Gia’s first choice.
And Suki Doll isn’t even Japanese 😂. Gia could’ve done Naomi Watanabe or super model Sayoko Yamaguchi, but she chose a character she knew nothing about or could relate to

I never got her "I was annoyed by everyone around me" excuse, she's a drag queen, people screaming at her is haft the job. Usually drunk people screaming. Plus people being horrible is a great opportunity to hijack their jokes and come out on top. Like Jinx did, many times. I like Latrice but second time around it just felt like an excuse for why she had no jokes.

The fact that almost nobody got the "Pull my lever" reference just makes me feel sad about "The emperor's new groove", probably the funniest Disney movie so far, being criminally unapreciated.

Monet's took more effort than what SheDevilByNight did.
Because I think RuPaul mostly wanted Valentina to do Eartha as a wider variety of things, while Valentina was mostly focusing on Yzma from Emperor's New Groove. Like with RuPaul's first question about Christmas, I think he was hinting at Eartha's version of Santa Baby (which is actually the original version of that song). And Valentina follows it up with the "pull the lever" reference, which is a Yzma thing. Granted, Valentina included a variety of Eartha Kitt's stuff (like the "MONOTONOUS!" and the purring), but I think she was in the bottom because she didn't give the Eartha that RuPaul wanted (which shouldn't be Valentina's fault on its own, really).
Im still bitter that they didn't understand the emperors new groove reference. Im also bitter Naomi didn't win this week

I absolutely get Valentinas Eartha Kitt impersonation, and I’m just as confused now as the first time I saw this episode that they didn’t get it. And the Yzma references were everything 🤣

@@debravan1167honestly no. Had Gia inturrupted her once and made a funny joke it would have been different. The rest of that panel told her to stop multiple times. You can see Manila break character and even mo heart inturupted her to stop the mess. Latrice almost seemed to be the one who got “targeted” by his. I can’t blame her for getting frustrated. She was trying to set stuff up and kept getting stonewalled by failed joke one after the other!

I can't describe how happy I am to see this here on CZcams! All Stars 4 is my second favorite season of Drag Race in general-- the first being Season 9. Following AS4 is Season 11 in my favorites, so I hope they upload Snatch Game At Sea next week!
This is why I wish they would go back to the original Snatch Game format on All Stars. Naomi wasn't as funny as Trinity, but was so much better than Manila and her cringey weird Streisand.
