One Good tip for the roads that i can give is that if you have old spare phone that works and support latest software then you can use it as for navigation if you don't have NAV or Android Auto/Apple Carplay Support on your car.

An SSD is the biggest upgrade you can make to any PC or laptop that does not have one. I have an old laptop with a 2nd gen i5 that still runs fine for general web browsing and video streaming because I swapped the HDD out for an SSD.

Your channel is so underrated. Thanks so much for these! It feels like all other tech CZcamsrs recommend tech regardless of the price and just expect you make a "good enough" wage to afford all the latest technology. Thanks for normalizing being frugal. Also, I recently pulled the trigger on a Sony A7C too and it's my favorite purchase ever

For me, the webcam setups aren’t worth it if your primary purpose is to do professional video calls. This is because there are a plethora of 1080P webcams on Amazon for around the $20-25 mark which have solid image quality without the hassle of setups. Since every video conferencing platform used by businesses maxes out at 1080p, I just don’t see the value add of losing the use of your phone during 45 minute meetings, assuming you’re regularly taking video calls at work.
Also on the topic of smart watches, I’d ask if you really need to reply to notifications or simply view snippets of them before deciding if it’s worth it to get the phone out. If it’s the latter category, plenty of budget fitness trackers are decently accurate while costing 1/3rd or less what an Apple Watch SE does. The Mi Band is a nice example of this. $46USD for the global version and it comes with tons of tracking. They may not be suitable for serious athletes, but if you just want to track when your heart rate climbed at the gym or how many steps you took, they’re great.

I really enjoy the thought of this video but it doesn't tackle aspects like longevity of the products (software support) or the used market. I do really like the dyi aspects as well as the understanding of the audience.

Liked the whole concept of this video. More people need to understand the l little things and the big picture before spending tons of money on the best of the best. Really liked the section about microphones and audio. More people should understand that while a good microphone does a lot, it doesn't do everything. Focusing on the environment is just as important.

I love using old tech for dedicated uses. I do this with all my devices if possible. Your audio seemed a little studder-y. Now I know why.

Maybe it's not what you've got but what you do with it 🤔 . I'm still using Sony tablets from 10 and 12 years ago . They still work and still look good 👌 . Nice clip 👍

Some of these are okay, but a way higher than acceptable fall into the Linus trap of clearly being made without actually doing research. Chrome Flex is worse than linux in basically every way, it performs worse, it's harder to install, it can do less, etc. You do genuinely seem to try to be giving advice, rather than LTT (and it's derivatives) which are pretty clearly just going for clicks, (hell their own bloody tests showed flex is worse than linux, and then a few videos later they recommended flex. Again, despite flex being worse in every way. It's not just "well flex is better for non-techies" flex is harder to install, less user friendly, performs worse, starts slower, etc. it's across the board just worse) so I won't be too damning on it, but either you haven't done these yourself, or you didn't do research before hand. For instance if someone is worried about price, why would you recommend Plex over Jellyfin? Jellyfin is free and open source, whereas Plex has a free tier and is proprietary. If you actually want all of the features of plex you still have to pay up.
Not to grill you for a problem you already noticed, but you also said freenas instead of truenas, implying strongly that you didn't do research before making the video. You also didn't mention nextcloud at all which is like the number one thing I would recommend people do with old hardware in lieu of context.
Again this does seem actually well intentioned, unlike LTT which just seems like they want to keep churning out content and getting clicks accuracy or integrity be damned, but even if it is well intended it doesn't change the fact that the advice you give here does seem poorly researched. That wouldn't be an issue implicitly if it was presented as "these are tricks *_I_* usied to save money in some areas" which only implies annecdotal functionality, but this is structured like a researched advice video when it clearly isn't.
Any competitor against LTT in the "Relatable tech-tuber who most casual viewers who aren't techies would watch and learn from" space I'm all for (if you haven't noticed, I don't exactly think highly of LTT, to me they crossed the line from simply inept to full fledged con a few years ago and are now giving people outright dangerous "advice") especially if the content is genuine and less mass produced, but if the same mistakes get made all over again nothing really changes.
