They say she would be considered one of the greatest musical artists of all time had she lived. Considering her rapid popularity in the US, I would say that's true.
Her stage presence was like nothing I’ve seen. And she didn’t need dancers to put on a show. There won’t be another Selena We lost a true talent and a beautiful soul. RIP
Looks like you caught "the Selena bug"!!!! Welcome to the club! She was amazing, and no one could fill her shoes! So glad I caught this video. Thank you!
I got here by blasting her music while dropping my kids off from school. We NEED more Selena Quintanilla reactions from CZcamsrs these days . She's has a natural talent that I've never seen before. I wish she was still here because she would be winning Grammy after Grammy after Grammy after...ok I'm done..
@EML Trucking Gloria Estefan doesn’t have a powerhouse voice like Selena did, or the dancing ability Selena did back in her day. Plus Gloria Estefan was Born in Cuba, Selena was a Mexican American that was born here and represented us Latinos who are born and raised here. Two different talents, one was destined to reach far greater success in their career, that being Selena
Yes! Her dancers were Puerto Rican and the other was African American he was learning Spanish while working with Selena! She wanted to surround herself with people that can help her have a broad audience as she was planning to launch her first English album the same year she died😢 She was ahead of her time!
There’s videos of her doing a concert and people are just climbing onto the stage to hug her. She keeps singing and hugs all of them without ever calling security or anything.
Growing up in Kansas, I remember the first time I saw her on TV, I was so enthralled. I had never seen a "Latina" woman before....and than she was gone. such a terrible thing but at least her music still lives on!
Every Latina girl grows up with her songs! I remember being like 9 listening to her cassettes that I stole from my older sister! El Chico Del Apartamento 512 is my favorite
Tejano Queen Selena reaction?! May Selena Quintanilla rest in peace. She was one of a kind and so genuine and loving towards her fans. She is irreplaceable.
Some people dance like that because they learned it early from Grandma and Grandpa. It is a cultural thing that is learned. Not everything is from the point of view of carnal, but more from the point of feeling and love and family. I wish there was a way to bridge the gaps of understanding to make it more of an appreciation of history to know of how and why the dance is danced.
I totally understand what you mean those dances she are doing are the way the elders danced or older people I learned it from them with a twist of a little modern dance in it I love it ...
I was luck enough to have been there Houston Livestock Sow and Rodeo, she broke an attendance record that night. Selena continues be celebrated every yr with Feista De la Flor in Corpus Christi Tx .
“I hope he’s black” omg this made me so happy!! The joy I have seeing your joy in seeing her perform is amazing!! I’m rewatching all the videos you have lol
You are the first to acknowledge the black guy! Thank you for that! His name was Don Shelton, he passed away in 2014 & he was a great friend to her & her family. I love how Selena was changing the look of Mexican- Tex Mex music & I am pretty sure she would have done this in her English album. Some times I wish I had a time machine to go back and save her.

I like how this dude genuinely gets it. It's so hard to explain this to people who never grew up w this music. They just never get the real impact she left. How tremendously talented she was. From her fashion to her music to her whole vibe. They see it now and don't fucking get it.
She opened the Tejano industry for women. She was working on a crossover album into pop music right before her death. There are a few English version songs out there.
This video was from her last televised live performance. It was at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo inside the now-defunct Astrodome in Feb. of 1995. The Astrodome held many Rodeo concerts and the sound inside that place left a lot to be desired, no matter the performer. She was playing to a sold-out crowd of 60+ thousand fans.

I tell you something at the time of her death I was really confused I didn't know if I was going to miss her has a singer or if I was in love with her has a beautiful woman what I was feeling couldn't be just the loss of an amazing singer I WAS IN LOVE! and that's why I was feeling so much pain of her loss.
Si Una Vez, check that one out, if you have my apologies, barely going through your catalog of videos and I sincerely like them. I'm in Houston Texas, this woman here, that was a huge event! I love Selena's music!! Tejano era was the shit, at school they used to pretend to be her but they never let me join in, they said I wasn't Mexican enough (redhead Mexican)! That was in Acapulco in 1994, I believe. The video of that concert is awesome to watch cause you see how she really interacts with the audience!
