That plane spam was from Gmod. But this game series is from a Japanese company that basically took a bunch of leftover assets from their other games, and slapped it together into what I call "every B movie ever, the video game." Also, the game engine is actually pretty good so they can throw just a crazy amount of enemies on screen at once.
Funny how doing that makes the game fun. Which is the only thing that matters in a game.

This was the fourth or fifth invasion by the Ravagers and their highest expenditure of resources, because they sent *ten* motherships instead of one like the other times. Thankfully, by this point we had planetary defenses that took out nine of them before failing, but the Ravagers either want Earth that badly or have come to spite us that much.
As a side note: we _still_ haven't seen the face of the enemy, because their motherships are entirely autonomous.
Badger has absolutely played Among Us, and of course there's a video for it.

The entire EDF series is gold, other than Iron Rain where they tried to make a serious version of it and kind of tanked the concept by doing so. Look up more EDF reviews, they're all worth it.
yeah whoever made EDF Iron rain didn't understand what made EDF awesome. Far less mobs, tried to take the sci-fi plot seriously. Also it made you collect gems instead of weapons which isn't the same at all. I beat Iron rain using 4 weapons total. While in EDF 4.1 and 5 I used 3-4 new weapons almost every level.

I haven't played EDF 4.1, but I have played EDF 5 and EDF World Brothers and they are both a ton of fun. One of the best parts of EDF 5 is that they run with the conceit that nobody knows what an ant or a spider or a pill bug or a wasp are, instead calling them Aggressive Alien Species Alpha, Beta and Gamma and Flying Aggressors. Also the English voice acting is just the right mix of earnest and completely awful to fit the setting perfectly and add to the B Movie atmosphere.
Needless to say I am eagerly awaiting the international release of EDF 6, which is a direct sequel to 5 (5 is not a direct sequel to 4.1 but more of an alternate version of events).
Technically, 5 is an alternate version of 3, not 4. This series basically always makes a game and then makes a sequel and then reboots everything.

Also Badger had to reupload this video, I remember watching the original and the big changes I saw he made were changing the girl's costume from a skin tight suit to the Japanese schoolgirl uniform it is now, as well as cutting out a joke about the noises she makes when stuck in the spider web, I'm pretty sure it went like "I though I closed my H*ntai tabs"

Dude, Earth Defense Force as a series is just so much fun. It's low-budget as hell and stupid, and that's part of the appeal as it constantly tries to one-up itself even while restricted to reusing assets.
Recalling SsethTzeentach's review of EDF 5, and I quote: "At one point, God, with a capital G, comes down to earth. And the EDF tries to arrest God. What happens next? God resists arrest."
That statement sums up how insane these games are and why I love them so much.
Honestly edf is always a blast both figuratively and literaly. I mostly play it alone because my friends don't play it but every time I get a group togheter friendly fire is impossible to avoid and it's hilarious.
Oh and Ssethtzeentach also made a video about edf which is also fun.
Also I'd recommend edf 5 over 4.1. It has some amount of cross class leveling so you can play the missions with one class and unlock stuff for the otgers so you don't have to start every class from scratch if you want to switch.

the saddest part is duck you dont get to hear one of the best jokes from the video… this is the reupload because wing diver’s skin is like bordeline offensively sexual and also the in-game audio for her sounds like a porno… which led to the bit with her stuck in a cobweb screaming and bajur saying “All my hentai tabs are muted… this is in-game audio”
The original Mercenaries game for PS2 and Xbox was AMAZING for the amount of destruction you could cause with air strikes.

To explain the journalist joke, a lot of video game "journalists" are infamous for not being very good at video games. Leading to some horrible takes from said "journalists/critics".
Like i said before I love this game. It's crazy and kinda barebones in many ways, but the action is just amazing stupid fun and despite having no cut scenes and, let's call it okay, voice acting, the game really sucked me into the whole desperate last stand against an overwhelming alien threat thing it has going on. Especially the final level.
So explaining time. Badger has two things going on in this video. He is showing gameplay footage, and he is showing his Gmod/photoshop creations. The actual godzilla with a glock, the alien god, all that nonsense is his stuff not in the game. But the gameplay has some actual crazy stuff in it too.
Not only is this a real game, but it is a SERIES of games! 😂

New mission, play Skyrim! It's a pretty good game and you can play it any number of ways. You can be a little bit of everything or you can choose one specific thing and stick to that or throwing a little variance here and there it's really up to you. Plus there's mods, oh God are there ever a lot of mods!

This series of games has been around since the PS2 and the games just get crazier and more fun with each installment and EDF 6 is on it's way.
The fascinating thing about this is the Engine used to run it is still from the PS2 when the first game came out. They just keep making it better and better each time. Boiling this arcade shooter down to pure dopamine.

Basically everything without the games HUD is made by Badger and not ingame modells, weapons and maps.

There are some other EDF games on Steam, besides 4.1, there's EDF 5 and some other ones like Iron Rain, World Brothers, and Wing Diver Shooter... Which those last 3 I don't recommend. I haven't heard positive things on those 3 so maybe just get 4.1 and 5 if you want. And maybe World Brothers if that one seems interesting enough to ya.
There's also a 6 that released but hasn't been released to North America yet. So maybe in another year or 2 maybe it might get a translation.
And yeah EDF are their own games, just Badger is that he mixes in GMod with the clips.
EDF 4.1 and 5 are amazing. Iron rain was bad. World brothers was a different kind of bad. Wing diver shooter was pointless.
Stick with the 4.1 and 5, get some friends, and it is a guarantee good time.

@@theduckgoesmoo yep missiles are much more powerful, but need a lock on. With that being said, if you have another player marking a target then you can fire the missiles like rockets. Even cruise missiles...

All of my Yes! EDF is one of those amazing kind of games. Where you start with a few simple guns, get like 10 more guns each level, and eventually you are throwing out enough explosives to level cities. EDF 4.1 and 5 are the best of the best in the series. You get a cheesy silly plot and the ordinance to blow up armies. And armies you will face. It might not look fancy graphics wise but that means hundreds of enemies can be swarming at once. Just please avoid EDF Iron Rain. It is the newest one and they completely ruined it. They gave it better graphics for far less mobs, and tried to make the plot serious. No this is a goofy plot and I love it. Now if you will excuse me I'm going to chant EDF to a few comments here.
Iron Rain is made by a different team who are supposedly used to make wresting games before
