Cyber Security and The Early Warning Systems Centre - Nigeria’s security in focus!
In the past two weeks, a new word has been added to the lexicon of ordinary Nigerians - Cyber Security. The simple interpretation to the layman is that our money in the banks may not be quite as safe and as secure as we all assume. This is serious business!
The President, BAT, halted the implementation of the Cuber Security Levy Policy by the CBN following the storm the news created in the public space. What are the implications?
Beyond cyber security, there are other Security issues that have been of great concern to Nigerians with implications for the West African sub-region in particular.
Then, some good news.
Last year, the ‘General Leo Irabor Early Warning Systems Centre’, was opened.
Strategically, located within the premises of the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs in Lagos, it is to provide an additional layer of security in any new security architecture for the country, and to service not only the Nigerian Military establishment but all the security agencies in the country.
Security, generally, is a difficult and complex issue that requires deep forensic interrogation.
