I'd say so. He's at the top. There are lots that are very good. Just not as many styles as Afx and consistency. Richard has probably 400 tracks that are excellent. I can't think of any other producers that versatile and such high output.
@@jeffmcguffy8380yeah it's insan how he can make songs that sounds so different Come to daddy Xtal Rhubarb Lichen All by him yet they all gives off different vibes
id love to know how he mixed so much bass into one tune, dunno how its not just disgustingly muddy with the bassline and that subby kick running together. truly something wonderful.
the bass actually isnt very present in very low frequencies, the kick is though. THey do mask eacother but not to an amount that its just a muddy mess. In my opinion the mix is still muddy (but thats more the analog sound)
holy fuck the last act of the song. a analog, trance like, serious tone trip...yet paradox in nature. his shit brings my frequency and consciousness to an entire different realm. fuckin amazing
+no probably just something running a sequence (sounds like a 303) plugged into the mixer bleeding thru that never made it in the mix, happens pretty frequently
yeah, that is so crazy, other DJ´s or producers would hate that, but this detail makes this song even more great, but to be fair the other song sound like AFX too... who knows what Richard is thinking? but those details are great.
***** It starts off as relatively simple vintage acid to be sure, then the melody hits you around 4 minutes and you're reminded just how unique Aphex Twin is.
i think this was recorded on a portastudio or 4-track tape recorder. bwoon dub main mix (stereo) channel 1-2 one way (side a). then to use side b, recordcarnival acid master mix stereo, 1-2, and now in reverse is bwoon dub on 3-4. in this case there's channel leak from 3-4, dirty pots or something.
@@qmlsbhkgqxvzdhjhbglh2166 Might be azimuth/height misalignment, most compact cassette decks are fiddly like that. But reverse? I think I heard it quite clearly forwards, @ 3:48 for example. I mean, maybe that indeed was a portastudio, they have 4 tracks one way :) idk lol
I found this on analord 4 I think the other day. Amazing track. Music like this is timeless. I mean the instruments like 808 / 707 drum machines are getting on for 30 years old now.
Richard David told me and Chance about this song when we were 5. I kept having him repeat the name, cause I thought he said broom (heavy accent). Wait til the end....it'll hit ya :) Love you baby, see ya soon...Chance too!WE're moving to Seattle baby
@orthakos I think he did it so you intentionally begin active listening again and lean in mentally to hear more detail, then there's some even funkier beat after, it basically prepares you for it.
Over 8 years listening can confirm timeless
i love you
this track is so dirty. feel like i need to take a shower right now

Love Analog Bubblebath. Love Collapse. Love everything in between. AFX is possibly the greatest musical artist of all time

@@noklarok I think she mastered Syro but hasn't worked with him otherwise
Analog instrumentation seems to readily mush together like this much more so than vsts
Every year I keep discovering his older music and is sweeter than ever. Love his old school and his new school SYRO!
this stuff is pretty new...2005
yeah i guess.
It was released in 2005, but nobody knows, it may have been recorded in the early 90's.
@@Jeansowaty no way, the analord stuff sounds way different than his 90's shit.
I absolutely love Syro!
This has a real feeling of being Distant and Detached like your reflecting on your past life. Very eerie but Beautiful
He never, ever fails to amaze me, I keep finding these aphex twin gems, and I have been listening to him for years.
4 years of knowing this, 4 years of constantly still loving this.

tune and a HALF
Been listening this song for years, at least two times a day and always find new things
If you're listening to this loudly, in between the breaks, you can slightly hear another track playing.

It's Carnival Acid from the opposite side, known as "crosstalk".
this is why he is the king, subtle, nuanced, deep and dare i say erotic

@Seemingly Friendly Creature erotism is not necessarily simple and reassuring
this is the funniest comment i've ever read sorry king
5:07 til the end is something magical and ancient.. Bwoon Dub is a dark master.
This one has a very hypnotic feel to it. Love it!
It's so good. One of my favorite songs by him.
omg... so good
Its weird... when i drink some beers, or smoke..it haves much more intensive feels for me
I don't think there could ever be a more appropriate title for this song
love, life, aphex twin

At 3:47 for less than a few seconds you can hear Carnival Acid in the background.
Love how this track builds and the echo on the synths
Eu realmente acho as linhas de baixo muito boas, não sei justificar como eu gosto disso, Uk Garage foi maravilhoso o filho mais velho de Dubstep
Would you believe me if I told you this upload of the track is what got me into RDJ years ago?
This will be the 5,000th time listening to this track 👌👌
Definitely a dark and dirty banger.
Used to listen to this and play Fallout 3, good times.
the song in the background is carnival acid. i heard it when i got this in 2004. it was released years later.

Yes!
It´s one of the best AFX Themes ever !
It´s acid, idm, the hole thing is just - awesome !
Thnx for exist Aphex Twin
I wonder if the carnival acid during the break was intentional or a mistake
Stands out from many from the AFX series. I'm a sucker for square wave action. Then drop some moody stuff on top - timeless vibes for those that know.
Best on analord... incredible

Masterful.
