    The Best of the Best 2 is one of the most underrated martial arts movies of the golden era. It's just tremendously cool with the surprisingly vicious fight scenes, the Rocky 4-style workout montages, great cast, despicable villains, and awesome soundtrack. What are the rules? THERE ARE NO RULES!!!

      Yeah people really drag Best Of The Best 2 but I still think it’s one of the most Badass Martial Arts Movies of the 90’s. Philip Rhee was MASTERFUL in it.

      @MatrixCobretti Před 3 měsíci +3

      @@TheRealest127 Agree 💯with everything you said there. I've never understood why some people knock it. It's a different genre of movie than the first one but that doesn't make it bad, it's just different. Philip Rhee was at his absolute peak and his technique is a beautiful thing to watch.

    The best of the best among martial arts movies. When I was a kid, I watched first Bloodsport and Kickboxer, Jackie Chan movies, I was interested, but not involved. After the best of the best movie, I started to search for a gym and eventually began my martial arts lifetime journey. Now I'm 44, K-1 kickboxing coach. And I still love this movie. I had the privilege to meet Philip Rhee in St. Petersburg, Russia, in 1996, that's really inspirational.

    Best of the best movie is really best of the best martial arts movies out there, along with many Bruce Lee movies and Van Damme's Bloodsport. I grew up watching that movie on TV, and every time it would show up on TV, I was throwing everything away, my toys, video games, books, whatever, turn on my TV, steal the remote from my older brother while he was not paying attention to what I was doing, and just sit there and watch this movie from start to finish. And even if they show it on TV at night, when I had to take a nap, cause I had to go to school next day, I still was sitting there and watching it, close to my TV with low sound, just so that I can only hear it, while everyone else were sleeping. It was very great movie and it still is.

    As per my previous comments in your last Vlog Viking, CAST, PRECISION AND SOUNDTRACK, Keep it simple and execute it with great choreography and the ingredients will work and all come together for those fans who love this Genre. Most movies like Best of the Best, Bloodsport, Kickboxer, Enter the Dragon, no retreat no surrender, Karate Kid to name but a few, What they have in common is - No Guns, emotive characters, the audience are invested, a soundtrack that suits the movie with a start, middle and end that when done right, become classics for the Fans...Great vlog and great interview with Simon Rhee who, along with the rest of the cast made a Great Martial/Drama movie...Thank you👍👍

Fantastic story, Eric Roberts just anchors the movie… The ending… what a message, much like Karate Kid. It’s funny you brought this up because I was just talking to my son about this movie and I plan on watching it with him this weekend. I consider Movies like Bloodsport, and Kickboxer Etc to be “Martial Arts Movies”. But the ACTING in Best Of The Best was SO good (James Earl Jones, Eric Roberts and even Phillip Rhee and Simon Rhee) that I don’t call Best Of The Best a “Martial Arts Movie”. I Say that it’s a FILM about being a Martial Artist and I’m surprised that it didn’t get a few Oscar nominations that year. GREAT and Timeless Film that still hits you right in the core and both of The Rhee brothers did a phenomenal job of demonstrating the grace, power and effectiveness of Taekwondo in combat.
