Ange will know when its time to move on. It won’t be a sudden decision. The club won’t need to sack him. He won’t go until he thinks he has achieved the achieveable. Genuine Ange fans have watched and listened to him for years. A set contract means next to nothing, except regards payouts for early terminations. Money is not Ange’s driver. Has never been. A rolling contract suits his personality IMO. Nothing in life can be set in concrete.

Manager, Leader, Legend! Every Celtic supporter loves this man he's taken over our club at its lowest ebb and we're now on the brink of a possible treble and that's just beyond our wildest dreams. I personally think that he brought that Australian winning mentality to Scotland as we know Aussies don't like losing. He's a really special manager but more importantly he's a really special human being he's got that humility but doesn't suffer fools gladly either. The mainstream media here are 95% against Celtic but he's got them sussed and they're eating out of his hand. I think he'll win this treble I'm certain of that because his one game at a time attitude means he and the players don't get carried away. Ange has been a breath of fresh air for our club after the Eddie Howe debacle and I think we got him more by luck than judgement but it could prove to be the best bit of business Celtic have done since Jock Stein. I honestly believe he could prove to be that great as a manager but without getting carried away he's got that aura about him and I hope he's at our club for a long time to complete the project he's begun. Our board should get this man on a long term contract tout de suite or we run the risk of him walking away and as inept as our board are surely even they can't mess this up HH

I believe a lucrative 5 or 6 year deal must be offered at the end of this season, regardless of what happens, with a clear ambition that UCL qualification *every single season* is now the bare minimum for Celtic FC.
And when the UCL format changes in 2024/25, we are guaranteed to be in with the big boys from now on.
Only by pulling in the ÂŁ40m/ÂŁ50m prize money year-on-year can this Club finally take that ambitious step forward. Every Celtic supporter knows that's exactly where this Club should have been already.
We've never had an easier opportunity now we know that winning the League the next 2 seasons means automatic qualification!

@@constantinetripodis2531 We definitely need that (and deserve it), however, what this Club needs just as much is to be left in a much better place when Ange's time comes to leave.
We have to be in a place where we are in the UCL every single season, as standard, and we have new infrastructure built and existing ones replenished.
A Club this big should have taken that step up years ago, however, the previous CEO lacked serious ambition and was happy just dominating Scotland which came back to bite us heavily last year.

As an Australian, a Dad, and a teacher, the challenges are substantial. Culture is the largest challenge. Young people usually don't take up football beyond their highschool years as an elite sport. Football (Soccer in Australia) is not as esteemed as Rugby League (NRL) and Australian Rules Football (AFL). Soccer was the 'immigrants game' (some still consider this to be the case). The two codes of NRL and AFL are deeply culturally ingrained and supported by mainstream media. You have to pay to watch the Australian A-League on TV whereas the NRL and AFL is copiously available on free-to-air television. The overwhelming nature of NRL and AFL means that Soccer starts in third place (or lower). All the names you mention are from families whose culture was outside the Australian norm. This usually means that their families were immigrants from Europe who loved Football and did not buy into the Australian mainstream of NRL and AFL. Leaderhip? Well, yes. But it is the type of Leadership that will, like a politician, need to shift the culture of an entire nation.

    • @sloppygoo

@@brucemyers5913 not only this but because NRL and AFL are the main sports football (soccer) isn't very appealing as it's seen a P*ssy sport and as much as I love the beautiful game I don't argue when people here dismiss soccer as being a game for skirts. The players are very embarassing and when the culture is tough physical sports soccer couldn't be further away

@@brucemyers5913 I think it was back in the 50's and soccer was taking off here, one of the teams wanted to lease a cricket ground from the Snt Kilda cricket team so they had a bigger capacity for fans or something.
It got brought up in parliament and there were shouts of soccer becoming a giant in Australia unless something was done, with cricket and the AFL playing second fiddle. Soccer in Australia not only has had to fight the media, but also a hostile government at times.
We don't do ourselves any favours though, there is a small pie and a lot of interests and agendas that are competing for their piece. If the administration part of the game sorted itself out for the betterment of the game, it may still become the giant that the Victorian government were scared of.

The character of this man, the way his mind works, is evident in his words, and the greater vision that he projects. All of the very best managers, be they known or unknown, before they take up a position at any club, have one single thing in common: they demonstrate great charisma. Mr Postegoglou has this in abundance. His ability to inspre those around him, to make them them understand that success, or failure, is all contained in the head; sort out your belief, and your doubts -- and separate them -- I suspect he tells his players and coaches -- and "success will always be your's".
How can anyone, neutral or opponent, not take to this man. Humble, yet supremely confident, once again he projects the characteristics of all great coaches; truly successful coaches realise that kindness, and tolerance of others, is imperative in determining a manager's reputation -- not only success on the field. Look back at the great Jock Stein; despite his strength of character, he was always able to demonstrate time for others, and kindness when it was needed. It is too early to say at the moment, but Ange seems to be following in the other big man's footsteps.
This is a moment for the Celtic board to grasp with both hands. Regardless of how this season ends, they simply must give the big man the resources he requires, and find the money, that we all know is there, to bring in at least four high quality players that can take Celtic to the next level in Europe: a fast, powerful, centre back, a left back with the speed to recover when out of position -- as Juranovich does adequately -- another playmaker in central midfield to support McGregor, and one, or two wingers that have more experience -- those players who are approaching their peak, and can split a European defence, with only one pass, or open it up with one cross. Let's hope, the board can see the possibilities in Europe if they provide Ange with the support.
They'll never have another opportunity, unless they fork out the money for a top European manager; we know whay that would cost, and how it would impact player recruitment -- and unlike the success that I believe will come with Ange, if he's financially supported, no success is guaranteed even with the calible of Ancelotti and similar.
This is the moment, and the board must grasp it by investing hard cash, with the same belief that Ange has invested in his players; then a decade or more of success can become reality.

Ppl don’t understand how hard it is to be not only a “little known “ manager but even just to be Celtic manager, the press over here is well not our best friend, for him to just come out and keep saying this is how we will play and that’s it , at the start we lost a few , played useless in Europe (we had 18 year olds playing cos we didn’t have anyone else left) but still he was just so definite and not in an arrogant FU way and Celtic fans even more took to that , he truly is a real football man

Many fans allowed their ignorance of Ange colour the way they spoke of him. It was very, very disrespectful and downright disparaging at times. It wasn’t just the anti Celtic people btw, to be totally clear, it was many Celtic fans thrmselves. Let’s not be too revisionist. But, it’s true, many Celtic fans while poo poohing him did say they were stuck with who they got and would try and get behind him, and that’s true, most have. Some took longer than others to get on board, of course. Many Australians told you from the start that the measure of the man was high. I guess talk is cheap, even when it comes from those who know. Ange walks the walk. It was always going to happen. 👍

I remember watching our loss against Livi and thinking that we just turning the screw on them when Livi scored with there first attack.
