    Would YOU like to see a Beastgrip VS Moment 1.55X Anamorphic battle video?

      Absolutely! A comparison between the two is fantastic 👍👍

      I just watched your Beastgrip review and it too has similar edge softening. The gold flare of the Moment looks nicer but a side-by-side comparison video would be good to see

      If you compare Beastgrip’s latest top of the line lens I believe the Moment lens would be in real trouble.

      Yes please, especially for the softness at the edges.

  • @hudsonms
    @hudsonms Před 8 měsíci +8

    A lens this wide and squeezed is supposed to have that distortion/softness falloff on the edges and corners of the image. This is called “character” and is found in nearly every sought after Anamorphic Cinema lens.. it is indeed on purpose intended to have Character.

    • @DylanRotich
      @DylanRotich Před 4 měsíci +1

      Really adds a lot of character and forces your eyes into the center of the frame where it's sharper.

      Thanks! The 1.33 still work well for me. I feel they are concentrating on their new T-Series lenses which don’t work with my iPhone 12 sadly.

    Thank you for the review. I am thinking of buying an anamorphic lens for my phone. I think this one is good for landscape (despite the softness), but I also think I will choose the 1.33X...

    Thanks for another very interesting video. For what it’s worth I have to say I never really understand all the fuss about anamorphic lens flare: I find it completely OTT and distracting and sometimes wonder if the current preoccupation with that look is going to seem like some people’s obsession with selfie filters when we look back a few month or years from now and everything is covered with those ubiquitous golden bars. Still, each to his/her/their. Thanks for the video. Keep ‘em coming.

    I’m guessing the basic lens designs haven’t kept pace with the larger sensors found in today’s smartphones and that’s a likely cause of their lackluster performance.
