You hit the nail on the head in so many ways, especially the added pressure and positioning picking around the camera👌 Many of my locks are camera shy at the moment😂 Looking forward to the next installment. Have a great week my friend👍😀✌️
@@DarkArtsLockPicking I totally get it took forever to get my AL 1100 picked on camera. Which is funny cause it was the second lock I started picking with 😂
I taught my boys as they played their sports, distance running and football, that if they had 80% of the talent another person had, but they gave 100% effort while that other person only gave 75% effort, they would actually come out ahead. DALP you touched on a important point I noticed about this community and one of the things that enticed me to join in with recording videos. There are so many who encourage a person, telling them what they are doing well, congratulating ya when you get a new level of lock opened and even when a try turn out not to get a open ...it is so POSITIVE of a environment right here on CZcams which can be so darn toxic sometimes. Most important, criticism of bad habits or the like is CONSTRUCTIVE, with helpful hints offered, so much valuable information offered and in kind and generous ways. It is those things that will serve to grow this sport to its potential, imho. This was a great talk DALP and I commend you for encouraging people to go ahead and record their picking, and for so very many more reasons than just a status point or a reputation aligning with celebrity culture. Earning a good name, learning and teaching, and more than anything the Fellowship of interacting with each other on a truly International stage...let that one sink in. We are growing cool friendships with people we would otherwise never even know existed, much less sharing tips and tricks and accomplishments like picking that new lock and helping another accomplish it too. Know this DALP, Locksport changed my life. In some ways, it opened doors to me that have been slammed shut for decades. Those of us with physical disabilities will attest, this is some of the best dexterity therapy that exists! The kindness and generosity displayed by the participants in this sport have no parallel or equal, I just hope some pickers see that side of this sports players. Good pep talk, Sir. Well done.
I couldn't agree more with what you have said mate. They are the same points I was trying to get across. Most comments are well done mate good job on an open. But the odd tip or trick that you get in the comments section especially when you ask people is what helps you progress. When people ask me for tips of advice I will always give it. That is why I started the beginner's series. With all the lock picking videos out there on CZcams there isn't a good full series of videos just dedicated to beginners. Covering everything from basics to techniques and everything in between. Locksport is a fantastic hobby and community I have made so many friendships with people from all over the world. And have learnt, been encouraged and shared more then any other community. It's a great sport to improve motor skills with and improve brain function as it's like solving puzzles. If you give 100% to it. It's amazing what you can accomplish. Thank you for your support mate I really appreciate it very much 👍🤘🖖🍻
I feel like your talking about me in this video!! I was watching you Sunday beginners series and this video popped up as recommended and the title called out to me... Thanks so much for this one, very helpful and encouraging!!! Gonna watch #2 now.
No I wasn't talking about you lol it was a generalised statement. But I'm glad it helped you mate. I had a few people tell me this video has helped them and so has part two. I started the beginner's series to help bring more people into this awesome sport and to help them progress. 👍🤘🖖🍻
I have been struggling with that as well, cameras does make me under pressure, for some reason. Doesn't seem like it would or should but I'm dealing with it, or trying to. LOL!!!! That's good advice my friend. At the moment I've picked too much & kind of burned myself out on picking, so don't pick too much, at least not all the same locks. Be good to show how to set up channels & where to fill out all the forms as well.
Interesting expo DALP. The way you were explaining the camera and the anxiety of performing in front of the camera, you could try some soft music in the backround and maybe give the lock a relaxing massage. Just a thought:-)
Thank you for this, pep talk. I was getting discouraged. I can't pick ABUS or American 1100's yet, but I am working on it. Camera shy locks... absolutely. I've watched thousands of videos in the past few months. I love this sport and community of pickers. I'm still having trouble with TOK but am working on that as well.. again thank you...
Great video. You have done a lot of great and helpful videos. But this one is the tops. After watching this a few times and reading the comments. This video stands out. YES. Do more of these. I can do locks at home but when it comes to making you tube videos. No clue. Nerves come into play. Take care mate. I’m recommending this to other new you tube folk who are new to locksport.
Great video! I think I'm your target audience here, and boy could I relate to just about everything you said in this vid. Well done mate, given me hope to keep doing what I do :) Looking forward to the next installation of this series!!
Thank you mate. I created this Sunday beginners series to help people start and progress in this awesome sport. I have and will cover everything I can relating to locksport for beginners. 👍🤘🖖🍻
Great advice! 👍 The added stress results in a decrease in fine motor skills and critical thinking. We also tend to revert back to using any bad habits we’ve picked up. Or, maybe the lock really is just camera shy? 🤔
Aj Clark I got over the camera shy also. But the funny thing is, I can’t talk to the camera if anyone else can hear. It just feels stupid and I clam up.
It really is weird talking to yourself when you do videos 😂. I thought this wood be a good to help beginners understand that doing CZcams videos will help increase their picking skill levels. As feedback and the stress of doing it on camera helps you improve. 👍🤘🖖🍻
Personally what really changes from lonley picking to camera picking is the position. The table i use for the set up is not the usual place i use and having to put the lock at the right angle for the camera plus keeping the hands out of the way makes me mad ! 😂😂
Great video topic can’t wait to see your set up on the next video I got the same advice your giving from Gordon W I’d been picking about 6 weeks he messaged saying I should start a channel so noobs could see how other noobs attempt to pick locks I told him I was rubbish he said that was the whole point so I rarely per pick a lock I’m going to video that’s why you’ll see me change tension and picks because I’m learning to pick the lock and hopefully showing others how I go about trying to open it Keep up the great content 👍🏻👍🏻
Thank you mate. Gordon is a great guy and he does have a point as I said it will actually help you improve your skills. And if you ask for feedback or tips to help you people can see and tell you what to try. 👍🤘🖖🍻
Dark Arts Lock Picking he is a great bloke sent me locks at varying difficulties to pick and still does top bloke hope in my own little way I’ve helped a newbie or two myself showing them what not to do lol I which someone would show me how to pick a medico m3 😂😂
Dark Arts Lock Picking the smaller ones not to bad the M3 is a bloody mystery lol I can pick it with 3 pins in occasionally that’s as far as I’ve got good luck maybe if you learn how you can do a video as I’ve seen people pick them and they make it look easy well it bloody isn’t for me 😂
You hit the nail on the head in so many ways, especially the added pressure and positioning picking around the camera👌 Many of my locks are camera shy at the moment😂

Have a great week my friend👍😀✌️
Thank you mate. Yeah I have a few camera shy locks as well atm. Hope you have a great week as well my friend 👍🤘🖖🍻
Nice to see new people coming into Locksport. 👍👍👍👍🧡
It is nice to see my friend 👍🤘🖖🍻
Great advice my friend, I really hope that more people join this awesome community. 👍
Thank you Daz mate. Yeah I hope more people join this fantastic community. 👍🤘🖖🍻
I do agree with the camera adding stress and thus difficulty to a lock you've previously picked.
Yeah it's amazing how such a little thing can make a huge difference. 👍🤘🖖🍻

Thank you mate. Hopefully I will have some more tool's to review soon 👍🤘🖖🍻
Great vid mate :) Looking forward to next weeks on cheap set ups .... I may even be tempted myself to start posting some vids :D
Thank you mate. That's the good thing about CZcams as you can go as cheap or as expensive as you like. 👍🤘🖖🍻
Subbed. Good video. I have a new Locksport channel. Following several others. Will follow this series
Thank you for the subscription mate. I will definitely subscribe back 👍🤘🖖🍻

Or, maybe the lock really is just camera shy? 🤔
I know when I first started making videos i was very camera shy, but I got through it.
