Great vid man...a lot of solid offerings. Some of those I enjoy personally althogh I've yet to try Tom Ford on me.....also great descriptions for the bottles too
Well done Greg! I appreciate your perspective on fragrances. Like another subscriber hinted, you come across as a practical type of guy. You remind me a good deal of Coach Rob. Keep doing your thing Greg!
I have never actually worn a fragrance but this video has made me interested in some of the products, and your first pieces of advice in the beginning was enlightening.
I bought two of these fragrances based on your video (Rochas and Midnight in Paris). The way you describe these fragrances make me want to buy all of them. Thank you!
I love your list. I have to apologize as I asked my wife more info on this cologne givenchy paris, she bought me this ad a gift in fall of 2013 & she said it was a new release by the givenchy house. That's pretty much why it's not on to many people's list. I've had rochas for years & loved it, but ever since she bought me this one, I have to tell you, even though there's some similarities, I really enjoy the caramel & sweet notes plus longevity more. When it comes to gourmand fragrances, it won't be long before it will be on guys list as favorites.
Nice, I have a small collection of 7 fragances and you've included 4 of them here, DHI, Pure Malt, Aventus and L'instant de Guerlain. Gucci pour Homme II has worked quite well for me in close encounters too. Good job!
Out of your list, I own a couple, plan on trying the rest because I've been looking into most of those and they seem great, and I plan on buying a few because I have tried them and loved them. Looks like a solid list!
I'm very impressed by your video, your selection was really good. I have 7 of the fragrance (D&G, PH, PM, DHI, MIP, Aventus decant and LIDGE decant) you named including your honorable mention. I'm still trying to get around to to LIDGE, it seems a bit too mature for me.
This is a great list. Girls seems to love VIW on me on the Summer, but because it can only be worn for a small period of the year it's hard to really fight for it.
Great list. Very impressed with your videos and your take on these fragrances. Keep up the good work. I also see you're a Pink Floyd/David Gilmour fan...my all time favorite band!
Me personally...in my collection the most romantic scents that I have are probably either Midnight in Paris, Quorum Silver, or Lancome's Hypnoses, but then yet again I don't have much of a lavish collection like most....LOL!! The one's I do own I really like!! Quorum Silver I wear the most and I always get mad compliments every time I wear it! Thanks.
Nice video, agree with your top choice L'instant extreme gets compliments women love it. Dior home intense as you mentioned is a bit feminine but another one the ladies pick up on, my number 2.
Awesome list and a lot of great choices... I can understand each of these frags being used for this purpose... (minus 1 which I've never smelt... ^_^) Great job man...
You definitely have a great taste in fragrances mate ! Bvlgari Black is definitely a great scent which might not be for everyone, but the Vanilla dry down I get with it is phenomenal :)
Another Excellent video, TOP list Greggie ! Both versions of L'instant and DHI are personal top favorites, so I do wear them often . Have been neglecting Pure Havane for too long...I 'll have to fix that ;-) So these 4 out of your list I own... I've been extremely disappointed by MIP edp. Sampled it last month and all I got was mostly.. baby powder :-( So might reconsider Bvlgari Black or MIP edt to resample perhaps. Haven't smelled the Rochas yet...Have to try the D&G performance on MY skin ;-)
Dude, you're very smart to advise against the most common frags for a date--never thought of that. Black is one of my favorite favorite fragrances! I 100% agree it is perfect for dates since I it makes a "brand new" and confident impression. I have never sniffed 24 Gold or Midnight In Paris--thanks for the tip! Wow good ideas about 2nd or 3rd date relating to Dior Homme Intense.
I am with you with your Number One! Only few times I fell in love from the very first sniff... L'instant extreme was one of them! Considering me being more into dark mysterious kind of sents still I was disarmed with this one. Pure masterpiece, will be with me forever!
Armani Diamonds is a good date night cologne for cooler nights for both the summer and winter. It can also be worn to classy events like a wedding. Givenchy Play Intense is also another great date cologne for the winter/colder weather. Both colognes are in the gourmand category. Diamonds is more strawberries and Play Intense is more coffee and floral.
The One was the first cologne I bought, it was masculine and different from all the "unisex" smelling "mens" fragrances at macy's.. But I've gotten really interested in fragrances, I consider myself a beginner and look forward to the world of scents.
Definitely love l'Instant de Guerlain. Both EDT and EDP work wonders. Like HiroYoruzuka used to say, LIDG has a "no fucking around with me" vibe about it. So everyone knows where to look when you walk in wearing this stuff. I usually prefer the EDT cause it's a lot more versatile. That being said, I'm really curious about the rather rare version of LIDG (Cristaux d'Agrumes). I would really love to try that one some day. Great stuff on your channel, keep it up ;)
very nice selection mate, i'm sure a lot of guys out there could use this video as a point of reference. the only one that i'd personally take out and replace with something else is spicebomb.
Another great presentation. Thank you for the explanations of what the Frag smells like , what it is made from and how and when to use the Frags. Please if you can, tell about the longevity and projection of the Frags. I dont have a lot of money so I have to buy what I can afford and the longevity and projection is important to me. Spending $100.00 for a Frag that last about an hour is a waste of money for me, no matter how good it smells. Thank you again. Harry
This list is great, I'll get my hands on rochas man soon, too bad it doesn't last long. But it is the most gourmand fragrance I know, it literally smells like something you want to eat.
Things like D&G the one and DHI I think are perfect. Great for dates, great everywhere. And most age groups can wear them, though The One is a bit more sophisticated.
Greggieboy76 I like your review a lot , good job but I do have to say I have a huge fragrance collection and I do think you should have made Dior hommie Intense your number 1 / winner even though I wear Creed Aventus doing the day time and haven't tried Linstant De Guerlain extreme yet but Dior Hommie Intense is an awesome frag .
Jesus, that's the best date scent Top 10 that I've ever seen! Love almost all of the fragrences that you've mentioned, all of them are 9/10s or 10/10s! I own 12 of the 14 scents in the video + a split of Aventus (need to buy a full bottle soon). Only Noir de Noir does not exactly fit my taste. When it comes to Tom Ford I personally like Tobacco Vanille and Tuscan Leather better. By the way: I also thought that you were a New Zealander. I'd spent half a year over there and this sounds pretty much the same ;) Regards from Germany
Valentin Steiger Thanks for the compliment mate, sounds like we have very similar tastes! Believe me, my voice and the voice of a New Zealander are world's apart, just not perhaps from somebody from Germany :-) I have spent a lot of time in Germany, I had an office in Dusseldorf until recently. Anyway, thanks for watching and stay in touch :-)
Thanks for the sub, Greg. I just did the same. Great review and I laughed when you said that the light is a little dreary with the weather. I was in England a few years ago so I know exactly what you mean. What part of the UK are you from? I have roots in Ashford, Kent.
Awesome choices as always. I would have to say my #1 would be Noir de Noir... Just a stunning fragrance, (possibly the best i have ever smelled) especially for a date/romantic evening. Also a good one for winter (holidays) that won't break the bank, Burberry london. ( Bleu de Chanel is another u could throw in there) I'm not really a fan.. but still hhaha.
You definitely made a video for the best perfumes I have, so I was surprised, as if our taste one. Now I'm excited to watch all the videos in your channel. We will be in touch with your channel and I benefit from your experience and your announcements before buying, because 20% of my expenses on perfume. by the way My signature fragrance is # 1 # Desire for a Men Alfred Dunhill ***** my top 25 with out Arrangement in numbers is :- 1- Chanel/Antaeus 2-Chanel/Allure-Pour-Homme 3-Chanel/Egoiste 4-Giorgio-Armani/Acqua-di-Gio-Essenza 5-Dolce-Gabbana/The-One-for-Men 6-Dior/Fahrenheit 7-ScentStory/24-Gold 8-Bvlgari/Black 9-Tom-Ford/Noir-de-Noir 10-Yves-Saint-Laurent/M7 11-Dior/Dior-Homme-Intense 12-Paco-Rabanne/1-Million-Intense 13-Thierry-Mugler/A*Men 14-Yves-Saint-Laurent/La-Nuit-de-L-Homme-Le-Parfum 15-Guerlain/L-Instant-de-Guerlain-pour-Homme-Eau-Extreme 16-Ralph-Lauren/Polo 17-Gucci/Gucci-pour-Homme 18-Jacques-Bogart/One-Man-Show 19-/Davidoff/Cool-Water 20-Giorgio-Armani/Armani-Code 21-Creed/Aventus 22-Diesel/Fuel-for-Life-Homme 23-Yves-Saint-Laurent/Opium-Pour-Homme 24-Hermes/Terre-d-Hermes 25-Gucci/Envy-for-Men ******************************************************************* Thank Greggieboy76
Nice solid list! LIDGE also ranks high up in my opinion. Very unique and interesting to most women. Very hard to find in the US, so you don't smell like other guys. I think women find it somewhat mysterious with the cacao and anise notes.
Must say that I can relate to your list, I have 9 of those 10 frags, but I have a few that are better, and I realize that every opinion is subjective to ones preferences, so I will give my opinion also. I love oud frags, and woody tones in general, so Tom Ford Oud Wood is probably my second favorite fragrance and is sultry smooth. It just doesn't have great, but good silage, which is sufficient to not suffocate your date, and let her know what a suave, and classy man smells like. My personal #1 is not for blind dates, but for the one you really want to remember you, and that is Amouage Jubilation XXV. To me it's the best fragrance I have ever put my nose to. It can be an extremely formal frag, but if you are looking to impress the woman of your dreams, this is the one to do it with hands down. Very good list though, Cheers!
Cboss 1003 Thanks mate. Totally agree with Oud Wood and Jub XXV, I own and love them both. This list, however, is for the average guy looking for some fresh ideas and not necessarily people that would spend £150 or £200 a la TFPB and Amouage.
Thanks So Much, Greggieboy76. Awesome List and Great Descriptions!!! I ordered some samples of some other fragrances from FragranceNet.....10 Friggin Days FedEx Ground delivery from New York to Chicago. Ahhh well. This Top 10 Date/Romantic List is gonna get some SERIOUS attention. Though, from now on, unless someone has a better suggestion, I'll be shopping at Nordstrom's. It might be a little HIGH-END for my Budget, but at least I can have the confidence of knowing that anything I purchase from them will be 100% Authentic & Fresh. It's worth paying a bit more for the Extra Care & Attention and Fast Shipping and the confidence of knowing I'm getting a High Quality Product. CHEERS MATE!!!
Actually I don't live in Chicago, otherwise I woulda skipped ordering online and just gotten some samples locally. But, from now on, I'm definitely shopping at reliable stores. I'm sure FragranceNet is a quality company, but I don't like that it's taking SO long to get this stuff. I'm not REAL concerned about it because the samples I ordered aren't anything I'd consider bragging about, but I'm kinda new to the Fragrance Community and researching colognes is also new to me. I'm happy I found your Channel, as I am Subscribed and am looking forward to enjoying more of your lists and reviews. See ya, buddy :)
I turned Annotations off when I started watching the video....lol. I would love to buy some samples from you, primarily of the ones that are hard to find. Like right now, I was looking on Nordstrom.com for all the Date Fragrances you mentioned, and at the moment I'm stuck trying to find Rochar Man. I'm probably spelling it wrong. In any case, how do I proceed with buying Samples from you? Do you have a website where I can order them, or would you prefer to do this thru Paypal. Let me know. I don't know if I should be posting my email address publically. Let me know how you wanna do this. If you wanna give me an email address, then I'll send you mine. Thanks again, man!
I have a website www.fragrancesamplesuk.com but I cannot fullfill overseas orders. So have a look at the website, decide what you want and then email me on info@fragrancesamplesuk.com and we can sort it out. I don't have Rochas Man though ;-)
Good video mate, enjoyed seeing some scents I've not heard of there. Not sure where the best places are to go and get a whiff of them lol, guess most of the high streets wont have them ??
Hey mate thanks ever so much for this video - really cool and informative. Funnily enough I have the Creed Aventus and the Dior Homme Intense and I definately get more attention with the Dior. Out of interest have you tried Tom Ford Tobacco Oud - I have heard good things about that but would appreciate your thoughts?
Thanks for this Greg - one other thing buddy I notice that you actually reply to all of your comments that is really cool. Based on your top 10/10's I'm off to buy the Dior Farenheit Parfum tomorrow :)
I believe Prada Amber PH and YSL Body Kouros could be fine options too for that kind of setting. Highly unlikely to remind an ex boyfriend too ;-) Great Point you are making in your vid !!! ...distinction between first, subsequent date...or close combat tactical distance & projection also ;-) You are very precise in your reviews...Clear and practical !!!...Really excellent all the way !!! Cheers !
Enjoyable viv, my brother. I lie your style, and you pronounced the word "bottle" just fine, in my opinion, the first time. My mother is from Sunninghill, Ascot, Berks..
I'm dying to get my hands on 24, but don't wanna shell out on a stateside purchase - customs and that. Where's it available in blighty, Greg? Cheers for another superlative list, m8.
I dont know you like it, but I think lanvin avant garde is a good one too. The combo smell of honey and tobacco is delicious...funny...but it remembers me of la nuit a little - notes are very different 8O
I must say my choice is Givenchy " Gentlemen Only" I believe that this is a fragrance that is masculine with a lingering , gentle memorable scent. It is not over powering and draws that special someone in . Its inviting and comforting.
Since you like both Bulgari Black and Fahrenheit, I highly suggest you sample Nostalgia by Santa Maria Novella. Imagine the rubbery tar note of the Bulgari married to the petroleum of the Dior, with some smoke and an amazing leather mixed in and you get Nostalgia. It's fantastic and quite wearable, avant garde though it may be.
***** No problem Greggie. You and I seem to have very similar taste in fragrances, so I'm betting top dollar that you'll love it. Looking forward to watching your review of it soon! ;)
yes yes and yes! I don't agree with all of them (why exclude Bvlgari black when u have Midnight in Paris? BB is way better). But I deffo agree with Dior and Guerlain! nice one m8
Edible, gourmand, vanilla, cardamom.. All these words you listed as a key elements for romantic date's fragrance and no mention to my beloved Eau des Baux?! Yes, I'm disappointed but loving the way you review thou, so I subs !!
Great video , great fragrances i own a few from that list i would recommend you to also check and review notting hill by english laundry eau de parfum and also signature by english laundry they are gems that need to be reviews :) keep it rocking 👍
All fragrances are great, my favourite of the top10 is the Aventus. But I think it's not a date fragrance.. More like a going to a club frag. Instead of Aventus, I would have picked Paco Rabanne Ultraviolet, it is not known nowadays, so you can't meet with this in everyday life, I think. And maybe you could have mentioned Carolina Herrera CH Men, it is a very nice smell too. I don't think you haven't met them, but if you missed them until now, just give it a try. You won't be disappointed.
Giys dont worry orignal Amen is very gross with lots of patchouli but havane and malt are both gorgeous only issue was after 1to 2hrs they both loose that top note sparkly fresh effect and become a very regular toned down scent pretty much nothing there after 4hrs unless u smell ur shirt n sniff hard...but still just got my nose on both of these frags this week and the openings r killlller beautiful.
100K views? WOW! Congrats Gregg, amazing accomplishment! I'm duying to check out Bvlgari black, I've heard so many amazing things about it. That one and VC&A midnight in paris. Good stuff! -HP
***** Nice! As of late, I find myself being drawn towards darker, further-away-from-freshies type scents. I am looking forward to checking out more than just these two I mentioned above. The darker/more complex and mysterious the better!
+A Warrior i just got it a week ago, i absolutely love it! LOVE!! i bet if i lkike this, i will go nuts over midnight in paris, i shall report back soon, ha! =]
Excellent choices Greggie. I've used more than half of these fragrances on my night outs in the city, and they've produced wondrous results
+theharvardboy Thanks very much :-)
Great vid man...a lot of solid offerings.
Nice video! real helpful Greggieboy.
thanks mate! enjoy the holidays.
Glad you liked - Many thanks. Happy holidays to you too :-)
Thank you for the post. Very well done. Like your style and insights. One of my favorites on CZcams. Thanks again.

The "not remind of an ex" was a great tip, good advice
Thanks buddy.
How would we know how the ex smelled like?

Really appreciate this video. Got to get my hands on the Dior homme intense for the summer here in jamaica.
Great list man! Love the choices
Excellent list my friend. Great great work again Greggie. Allure homme is so classy. Collection vid???
I have never actually worn a fragrance but this video has made me interested in some of the products, and your first pieces of advice in the beginning was enlightening.
DisturbedKoala Thanks for watching. Let me know if you decide to start a collection :-)
Great video, especially the commentary on what not to wear, I'd actually highlight that in your description!
Dardan Emini Many thanks ! :-)
Love the tips in this video Greg 👍
Jonathan Peters Thanks broseph!
Thank you for sharing this information. I am especially interested in the Tom Ford Noir and the L' instant.
Thank you for watching
Always enjoy watching your videos. You have great tastes in fragrances. Keep posting!

I bought two of these fragrances based on your video (Rochas and Midnight in Paris). The way you describe these fragrances make me want to buy all of them. Thank you!
Glenn Kramer Great stuff - thanks for commenting Glenn.
I love your list. I have to apologize as I asked my wife more info on this cologne givenchy paris, she bought me this ad a gift in fall of 2013 & she said it was a new release by the givenchy house.
Thank a lot for the comments mate - really appreciate it!!

Sounds good. You must have a thousand fragz!!!lol. Again great list.
Thanks for the support buddy. You can always buy samples from me as detailed in the annotations in the Dates video ;-)
Some yes, some no mate. Have to do some online digging
I haven't tried it mate, but a few people who I respect say it's similar to Amber Absolute, so it's probably pretty good!
Thanks for this Greg - one other thing buddy I notice that you actually reply to all of your comments that is really cool. Based on your top 10/10's I'm off to buy the Dior Farenheit Parfum tomorrow :)
I just replied to you other post mate. Don't by Fahrenheit Parfum! Get the original EDT!!
I believe Prada Amber PH and YSL Body Kouros could be fine options too for that kind of setting. Highly unlikely to remind an ex boyfriend too ;-)
Great Point you are making in your vid !!! ...distinction between first, subsequent date...or close combat tactical distance & projection also ;-)
You are very precise in your reviews...Clear and practical !!!...Really excellent all the way !!!
Cheers !
Where did you get your 24 gold what size and how much english pounds, i would love to blind buy it.great vid greggie :) :)
Enjoyable viv, my brother. I lie your style, and you pronounced the word "bottle" just fine, in my opinion, the first time. My mother is from Sunninghill, Ascot, Berks..
Thanks mate. Berkshire is a lovely area!!
Fantabulous video
DUDE, U MAKE THE BEST REVIEWS EVERRR!!!!, thank u, u should do a review on bvlgari noir soir, PLEASE DOO😅😄
+Pedro Carrazana Thanks a lot mate. I'll see if I can do that one in the future.
I'm dying to get my hands on 24, but don't wanna shell out on a stateside purchase - customs and that. Where's it available in blighty, Greg? Cheers for another superlative list, m8.
Thanks!! Guerlain L'instant is beautiful
***** Thanks for watching
Please suggest : EDT or EDP?
I get around 8-9 hours from D&G The One EDT. Great fragrance.
+Mako 87 You are one of the lucky ones ;-)
i can tell that the "don´t wear" list is completed with L'eau de issey.
clever nice video!
This is a great video! some really good suggestions.
No wonder I'm single! hahaha xD
Haha!
Combine the last ones together and thats amazing.
Great tips on the scents.. never really tried any of those cause they are really expensive where I am..
Jason Wilson Thanks mate. Where do you live?
I live in Jamaica
Ah right, expensive frags then!
I dont know you like it, but I think lanvin avant garde is a good one too. The combo smell of honey and tobacco is delicious...funny...but it remembers me of la nuit a little - notes are very different 8O
Any interest in doing an updated one, or is this still definitive? :)
Best damn list ever!!!!
Ryan Mendiola Top man - cheers
I must say my choice is Givenchy " Gentlemen Only" I believe that this is a fragrance that is masculine with a lingering , gentle memorable scent. It is not over powering and draws that special someone in . Its inviting and comforting.
I agree buddy. I think you need to be a certain type of personailty and of a certain level of maturity to pull it off though.
+Greggieboy76 I agree
there was a magazine that had this scent that I liked and my dad forgot to take it but omg i loved it!!!! forgot what it was :( very sad
Thanks Doc, I'm gonna try and find it!
***** No problem Greggie. You and I seem to have very similar taste in fragrances, so I'm betting top dollar that you'll love it. Looking forward to watching your review of it soon! ;)
We're do you buy your cologne???
yes yes and yes! I don't agree with all of them (why exclude Bvlgari black when u have Midnight in Paris? BB is way better). But I deffo agree with Dior and Guerlain! nice one m8
Thanks mate
Simply boss bottled gives a decent impression (if she doesn't smelled it before)
Edible, gourmand, vanilla, cardamom.. All these words you listed as a key elements for romantic date's fragrance and no mention to my beloved Eau des Baux?! Yes, I'm disappointed but loving the way you review thou, so I subs !!
Haha - thanks mate. Eau des Baux is an excellent frag, but I don't own it and that's why it's not in the vid. Thanks for watching
CH men by Carolina Herrera is great for dates too.
Jacob Ambach Agree
Great video , great fragrances i own a few from that list i would recommend you to also check and review notting hill by english laundry eau de parfum and also signature by english laundry they are gems that need to be reviews :) keep it rocking 👍
Raico Mulet I'll check it out, thanks for the tip and thanks for watching!
Norbert Huszti Thanks for watching mate. The list contains fragrances I own. I don't own UltraViolet or CH Men.
Giys dont worry orignal Amen is very gross with lots of patchouli but havane and malt are both gorgeous only issue was after 1to 2hrs they both loose that top note sparkly fresh effect and become a very regular toned down scent pretty much nothing there after 4hrs unless u smell ur shirt n sniff hard...but still just got my nose on both of these frags this week and the openings r killlller beautiful.
thanks
100K views? WOW! Congrats Gregg, amazing accomplishment!
I'm duying to check out Bvlgari black, I've heard so many amazing things about it. That one and VC&A midnight in paris.
Good stuff!
-HP
Henry Perez Thanks very much Henry!!
+Henry Perez i've got it and it's amazing
Dior Homme Intense isnt working for me.. after an hour the smell goes away, and I dont know why. Maybe I will try Guerlain Extreme next time.
