- Today we return to a subject close to my heart and from the early days of the Urban Gentry channel-yes it's time to talk sneakers! Or should I say trainers?
In this review I take a look at my first pair of Nike Air VaporMax Plus in the triple black (noir) color way. I give my initial impressions, critiques, and a quick backstory explaining the importance of the Nike Air Max shoe.
In my 2020 video about the Top 10 Things I Can't Live Without, I talked about my love for collecting the Nike Air Max 90, and why they are my favorite sneaker. So, how does this latest and most expensive evolution of this iconic sneaker at $200 compare? Is the hype justified or is it all…just air? Let’s find out!

As a sneakerhead, TGV reviewing sneakers is something I'm down for.
I couldn't help but laugh when I saw TGV sniffing the "fresh pair" of sneakers as if it was a glass of wine or a plate a of cooked food. LOL!
Nightwing2303 on Weartesters does the same thing. If you have a pair of leather shoes or boots I understand giving them a sniff.

Showing my age but I was 13 in 1987 and owned the first Air Max as a birthday present! They were so comfortable! Still wearing Air Max today! Downshifted 8s! Love them! Great episode and lovely to watch something different! Rocking my G-Shock M5610 1ER with said Air Max. Air Max 90 for the win!

Loved the video. I do love your watch videos but always appreciate your lifestyle videos. Have to admit I've never really been a Nike guy. Puma has always been my go to sportswear of choice. But like watches i follow the Bertie Basset confectionery, and I appreciate Allsorts. Great video, look forward to more 👍

I'm an AM90 fanboy myself, it was the 1st AM i bought in the 90's. I got the limited edtion version from footlocker back then, then I switched to the BW when Nike discontinued the 90. Then in 2001 Nike brought the iconic shoe back and since then I'm wearing it. Got the 2020 Duck camo collection and the Bacon amongst others. Wore a bunch and throw them away when broken.
This type of video got me into the gentry. That mix of geek, attention to detail, enthusiasm and humour. The subject, coffee, wine, trainers or dare I say it watches……..doesn’t matter.

I love my Nikes! There all I wear. Got the 90s, vapourmaxs, 2017s, 2090s but my fav that I can’t go without is my 95s. Love them

Really love the Max 90’s! I remember a boy in our school being the first to have them and i was so jealous! The same boy had the Atari Lynx to which made me a little jealous to say the least!!!! The Vapours I do like them but just too modern for me T ! I like the older Nike Air Tailwinds or Killshots with shirt and jeans! But a pair of Max 90’s are in order!!!!

It took me a while to get used to vapormaxes but now I think they look great and are extremely comfy especially the flyknits, not sure about the newer releases though. 95's will always have a special place in my heart though and I think Adidas NMD's are up there with the best.
I bought my son the new version, not flyknit. And they are amazing. I've never worn the air max 95s or 90s so I can't say which is better.. can you?

In Italy, among us teenagers, the air max plus, or squalo as we call them, are very popular. Unfortunately these shoes are associated with pusher or criminals who adopt them as their street uniform, since they are very comfortable, menacing looking and expensive.
street culture comes before sneaker culture maybe it is the shoe emulating the desires of the people

had these since release day - still look and feel as good as new. the tongue can slip to the side but aside from that these are a good 9.8/10

My favorite sneaker is the Jordan 11 Concord. The perfect shoe IMO. Maybe I should do a video on it 🤔... Great video!
Had Nike’s from the very start, my favourite were a pair of 86 Air Pegasus then Air 180, Jordan’s and Hurrache. Always popped an air unit that was exposed. Now I use Nike Met Cons for training.
I love my air max's so much that buying trainers without air bubbles leaves me feeling like I've been ripped off so I dont bother....90s will always be my go to but I do wish they would start releasing air max classics again.

Never been a fan of the AirMax sneakers as I prefer those with low soles, low arches and low top cuts. But I have to agree, they are incredibly comfortable and well-made.
I usually go for Tommys (primarily style) and Geox sneakers (style and comfort). Puma Tazon 6 for workout, so comfy.
Hey TGV I do own both of them . A basic vapormax and a customized black and white air max 90 but the most comfortable sneaker in my collection is the asics gel kayano 26. Love your channel.

I recently picked up some of the vapormax 2020 to replace my worn out ultra boosts, and coming from those I found that the vapor max was comfortable while providing more support and structure that was lacking in the ultra boosts. The 2020 model also included a unique lacing system that is very convenient but I question if it will be durable enough to last the life of the shoe.
More support and structure over UB with this unstable bubbles? Who's your dealer?)
@@Ingeborga_Dapkunaite specifically the toe box has more structure that prevents your foot from slipping if you’re playing basketball or running in anything other than a straight line and i found that the vapormax outsole had less give than the ultra boost so it wasn’t as soft but i like it
When i was a Child i had those Nike air max2 charles Barkley... They were the top basketball trainners of this Time!
The original vapormax is the way to go, with a G-Shock of course 😉
The new vapormax plus are better.
If you take the sole out, there is a little hole. It takes a bicycle pump needle. And you can pump up the rear air bubble 😎

Vapor Max and plus are great options. Definitely the heel to toe transition is something to get use to. But my friend, the 95s are a must. Like fine wine it's an acquired taste 😉. But we definitely need to get you a good pair of AJ1s.🍻

Have you tried Ultra Boost? I switched from Air Max to them years ago. Air Max 90 is still one of my favorites!
Bel video come sempre, i would also suggest you to try out a pair of Nike's with the react midsole or one with the zoomx midsole (I have never tried that in particular but it is known to be the most comfortable) or a pair of ultraboost by Adidas. Ciao!

I have 2 pairs of Vapormax Plus and three pair of the flk 2021. I went with Obsidian Blue and Neon Bolt.... I love that Colorway and i get nice Feedback from other People on the Street. This is new to me and i have never experienced something like that before.
Are they true to size ? I have flat feet and not sure If I should go half a size up

I bought a pair of vapor max a while back. They're alright but the noise they make on certain flooring is a little annoying. Ive always been a new balance 574 guy but ive been wearing adidas more and more lately.

I love Nike's Air Max. I play golf and I wear their Air Max 90 Golf. Super stylish while being very functional. I like these VaporMax too!
I used to buy Nike all the time until the last two pairs I had both popped the bubble in less than a year. So from now on I buy Puma. I currently have some Puma Ferrari Cell Ultimate in Ferrari red of course. Puma Alien Cell NASA Limited Edition with NASA Logo on the toe, they did have an iridescent cell bubble but that has worn off now as they're around two and half years old. Puma Jago in black, red and white (had these for around 4 years now) and some cheap all black Puma Anzarun for work as these are cheap and cheerful I don't mind scuffing them up. Love Puma they're great value for money and in my experience last longer than Nike. Their clothes fit me better than Nike too and also last really really well. Nice to se a nod to the old Gentry videos with this one TGV.

I"m a runner and swear by Brooks.. it's like running on a cloud but the Nike is intriguing to me.
