  • Here is another video, hopefully with better sound than the last video. My volume in the last video was compromised when it was uploaded. My apologies. I record all my videos on my Samsung Note phones and never had that issue. Therefore, I'm re-recording this tutorial!

It's awesome to see all the cool diy's I can make with my Cricut joy 😊 @Marilyn Honey don't worry about all the rude comments, people are just so mean and picky. No one is perfect, there are technical difficulties, tongue twisters or what have you. Be kind to one another. We live in a day and age where people have forgotten what that's like. Sending loads of love and hugs. From Los Angeles CA 💖

The etching cream crystals can be gotten rid of by soaking the Armour Etch bottle in hot/warm water for a while, then shake the bottle a bunch. Not only will those pesky crystals leave dead spots, but they can also cause scratch-like marking if you brush your cream on. The real game-changer is to switch to Etch All cream. That cream is more liquidy and DOES NOT have the crystals. It is a little less dense than Armour Etch, but I also saw much better results using it. The only CONs are since its less dense, it can possibly drip if you use too much - but I noticed I dont have to use much of it anyways. Also, it cost a little more. Hope this helps everyone!

    Good tutorial, and very informative!
    Just a couple of tips:
First PLEASE be sure to wear gloves, especially if you have not worked with etching products before. You do not want this product to get on your skin for so many reasons, it's simply not safe to use an etching product without the proper protection.
If using the Armor Etch brand, instead of slapping a bunch of product on there and leaving it to sit for a longer period of time (20+ minutes), you can actually just continue to "paint it" over your stencil for about 3-4 minutes or so. You'll still want to apply a thick coat of product (maybe not as thick as what shown in this tutorial), but keep moving it around as you work.
A key to working with this particular etching cream, is to "keep it moving to keep it activated." This saves a lot of time, and tends to be less messy. So no need to tape over the rest of your cup...unless you're just a super messy crafter or worried about the etch cream still getting everywhere 😅. This also helps with making it easier to control where your product is going VS leaving a glob to sit for a while and hoping it doesn't slide to a part of the cup you didn't want the etching product to go.
After "painting" or moving the etching product around and over your stencil, you're good to wash it off with soap and water.
I hope my tips mentioned can help someone else in the future! ☺️
