- Here is another video, hopefully with better sound than the last video. My volume in the last video was compromised when it was uploaded. My apologies. I record all my videos on my Samsung Note phones and never had that issue. Therefore, I'm re-recording this tutorial!
In a world where you can be anything, be kind! From the words of an old friend, "it don't cost nothing to be nice!" Double negative and all! Thanks for watching!

It's awesome to see all the cool diy's I can make with my Cricut joy 😊 @Marilyn Honey don't worry about all the rude comments, people are just so mean and picky. No one is perfect, there are technical difficulties, tongue twisters or what have you. Be kind to one another. We live in a day and age where people have forgotten what that's like. Sending loads of love and hugs. From Los Angeles CA 💖
The etching cream crystals can be gotten rid of by soaking the Armour Etch bottle in hot/warm water for a while, then shake the bottle a bunch. Not only will those pesky crystals leave dead spots, but they can also cause scratch-like marking if you brush your cream on. The real game-changer is to switch to Etch All cream. That cream is more liquidy and DOES NOT have the crystals. It is a little less dense than Armour Etch, but I also saw much better results using it. The only CONs are since its less dense, it can possibly drip if you use too much - but I noticed I dont have to use much of it anyways. Also, it cost a little more. Hope this helps everyone!
Good to know I'm not the only one who hoards leftover bits of material for later use!
Thank you! I bought my Joy and had no idea of all the possibilities. I'm making a cup like yours with my hubby's company logo as a surprise for one of his X'Mas presents.
Love it!!!
@@MarilynDIAZDESIGNS I have to thank you again! This has saved me sooooo much money. I etched two beautiful cookie jars I bought from HomeGoods and personalized both jars. Cost $36. If I were to purchase them it would easily cost over $100!!! Thank you thank you thank you!
Happy Holidays!
🎄🎅❄☃🎁
@@8eeable I’m so happy to hear you were able to etch! Etching glass is one of my favorite things to do. Thank you for letting me know. Happy Holidays to you and your family. 😁
Good tutorial, and very informative!
Just a couple of tips:
First PLEASE be sure to wear gloves, especially if you have not worked with etching products before. You do not want this product to get on your skin for so many reasons, it's simply not safe to use an etching product without the proper protection.
If using the Armor Etch brand, instead of slapping a bunch of product on there and leaving it to sit for a longer period of time (20+ minutes), you can actually just continue to "paint it" over your stencil for about 3-4 minutes or so. You'll still want to apply a thick coat of product (maybe not as thick as what shown in this tutorial), but keep moving it around as you work.
A key to working with this particular etching cream, is to "keep it moving to keep it activated." This saves a lot of time, and tends to be less messy. So no need to tape over the rest of your cup...unless you're just a super messy crafter or worried about the etch cream still getting everywhere 😅. This also helps with making it easier to control where your product is going VS leaving a glob to sit for a while and hoping it doesn't slide to a part of the cup you didn't want the etching product to go.
After "painting" or moving the etching product around and over your stencil, you're good to wash it off with soap and water.
I hope my tips mentioned can help someone else in the future! ☺️
thank you so much! painting it is so much fun too haha
I have made glass etchings for years, as gifts, never thought to use my Joy to make the stencil. Thank you!!
Sorry The Internet's been so ugly, as a avid crafter I enjoy and appreciate videos like this. It has been clearly spoken, clearly recorded, and greatly detailed! I have seen some videos recorded on what seemed like a potato lol not this time. Cricket and I appreciate your guidance!!
I am TOTALLY going to start doing this! I had no idea this was possible without cutting into the glass!! Thank you very much for this demonstration. Happy Crafting!
I get my joy in the mail hopefully Friday! I had no clue we could etch with it! I am super excited now!
Thanks so much for this video, I wanted to learn how to etch with cricut, love it!
You did a good job in explaining how to etch on glass mugs. Thx
Great tutorial! Made me chuckle about the cold water and how your brain works, definitely relatable!
Purchased my Cricut Joy. Your videos are advanced and quick for vinyl newbies with craft experience. Keep the ideas coming please.
Alice Relkin thank you!

Thank you for an easy to follow instructional video. I like that you give us tips on your experiences. Thank you for sharing your craft ideas with all of us.
Haters will be haters and they’re fueled by responses to their hateful or unnecessary comments. Don’t give those people a second thought. The rest of us love your videos and appreciate you taking the time to teach us how to craft. 😊 Thank you.
Awww thank you and you're welcome! Much appreciated!!!
THANK YOU!! Just did my first etching on my shadowbox by following this video.
Didn’t know those crystals could cause problems. Thanks. Also the time didn’t know it should be that long. Thanks
Really good video I watched all the way through thanks 😊
THANK YOU, from a new user of the Cricut Joy.
I have only just come across your video and would just like to say you was absolutely perfect 👌🏻.. small things happened which actually happens to each of us at one time or another and it just means you are human and did not edit to take the little annoying pieces out so thank you for that… other people would edit all them little pieces out and make it look like they don’t make any mistakes which is annoying because it makes the likes of me feel inadequate, Thank you for the brilliant tutorial, everything about it was just right, your voice, volume, lighting and your explanations were all just perfect 😊
Thank you for this great tutorial! I received my cricket joy as a gift and thought that it would be too small to really accomplish anything, but I think I'm going to love it
Thank you for a wonderful tutorial. I love the cup! Xx
Oh my! This is awesome. I had no idea. Great video. Thank you.

Thank You! I enjoyed watching your video! I will try this when I get my Cricut Joy!
Thank you! I did not know you could do this with your Cricut.
This is phenomenal 👏🏽👏🏽! I just purchased a Cricut Joy and can’t wait to try this !

Great Video! I notice you made this video 3 years ago but I am a new owner of a Cricut Joy and have been looking for projects. Thank you. 🙂
Thank you so much for the time and effort you put into making your videos. Made me sad to hear how nasty some people are in their comments. Please know that you are appreciated!

Great video! Thank you for taking the time to make it. (I know it’s an old video!)
Very nicely done. Love the video. I just bought a Cricut Joy....can't wait to use it to create stencils.
Thank you for the video. I know its been almost as year, but ignore the trolls of the internet. you did a fantastic job, and your videos are great!
You ROCK AT THIS!!! 👏👏Thank you for sharing!!!👏👍💯
You did a fabulous job with this project video! Thank you!
I learned so much from you and I loved how well you've explained everything. Thank you.
Well done. Have had my Joy for awhile. You made me think ai can do this!
I'm surprised that you didn't use a piece of transfer tape to lift out the part you weeded to use as a sticker. I almost always use both the positive and negative pieces when I make what is essentially a stencil for etching/painting.
Thank you for a wonderful tutorial. I just got my cricut joy and taught me a new technique.
Have fun!!!
Thank you for posting this video it was easy for me to follow the sound was good and your lighting was great I am going to try this!
Just left your first video and found this second one. Thanks.
That Was Amazing Thank You, And Yes I Could Hear You Fine. No Problem. Again Thank You

I love love love!!! This video it had so much detail and was so thorough on do's and don'ts i am definitely subscribing to your amazing Chanel! Thank you so much!
Thank you so much for taking the time to make this video!
Thanks for sharing! Nice video and sound was good. Don't fret about the negative people.
Do you know you can scrap off the etching cream with an old credit card and put it back in the bottle. It can be reused. Hope that helps you save the etching cream.
I just use the foam brush to do that or a popsicle stick. Thank you for the tip!
Awesome tutorial. You are so talented. Thanks for sharing.
Hi! Thanks for sharing---just got my Joy!! Love this idea. What great gift ideas you can make with glass etching.
Just bought one of these. NEVER Cut a imagine on my life (I have a silhouette brand new machine and huge heat press that I’ve had 3 years and never turned on)... I’m trying to learn about this little guy. Thanks for the tutorials. I totally get what you’re saying about “mean girls”... it’s sad women are so catty these days. You don’t see them making tutorials. Just block em and stick with those that appreciate the time you are taking to teach us. It’s FREE for them but they still b**** & complain!!
This was a wonderful video! I just received my Cricut Joy...can’t wait to etch some gifts for family and friends. Thanks for all the do’s and don’ts tips! Very helpful, particularly, for beginners! 🤗🙏🏻🙌🏻💕💐
I love this so much. I have a cricut coming in the mail. This is something I will definitely be trying out

Fantastic! Your instructions were crystal clear and are etched into my memory. I can't wait to create something like this. I have subscribed to your page so that I can learn more from you.
When my friend talked about etching I thought, "How can I put a glass in the Cricut to etch onto it? Now I know! :-)
Thank you so much for your kind words!
@@MarilynDIAZDESIGNS Question. I'm brand new to Cricut, so I'm not sure how the different material's work, for the etching project, should I use removable or permanent vinyl? The link took me to removable, if I'm not mistaken, in your video did you say permanent vinyl? If the permanent is used, is it easy to remove?
I purchased permanent vinyl for another project (not yet started), can it be used or should I get the removable for this etching project? I'm ordering the etching cream and didn't know if I should also add the removable vinyl to my cart.
Thank you, in advance!
Wow! Fantastic! Thanks for an excellent video.
Thank you for shearing!!
Can't wait to try it
That's pretty cool! I really like your design!
