I don't ever wana here that any qb can work in Kyle's system after what we just saw with Josh Johnson. Purdy has talent and it atleast would have been a game if he hadn't been injured. I feel just ... empty it's like we didn't even really get a chance to play.
that's exactly the way it feels...we never gotta a chance to win this game when purdy went down...we finally got our groove from mid season all the way to the championship ...and the little hope we did have of winning this game was stripped away from us in the first quarter when purdy went out...never had a chance.

I think as 49er fans knew as soon as Brock Purdy went down the game was lost.. you can expect the quarterback who is just signed a few weeks ago to come in and play and Kyle shanahan's not to mention he got himself hurt as well and Brock Purdy who was injured had to come back and finish the game.. but I am very proud of his 49er team which it was a great season but of course entries again stop the now I am looking next year and maybe we can keep our quarterback healthy and I would love to see Trey Lance back at Stein position he deserves but gave credit to the Philadelphia eagles I wish them luck and I'm ready for them in the super bowl

The issue was that Shanahan decided y'all should cover Reddick with his double digits sack record with a backup TE. Listen was it unfortunate Brock got blown up? Absolutely, but that was a disaster decision and even when you put in the 4th QB he still had the same guy covering Reddick. That's just not smart.

Die hard Eagles fan here. I remember watching this game on TV and was just in absolute awe of how merciless our defense was. They didn't give the 49ers any mercy whatsoever. Looking back on it, I wish our defense was that aggressive during the Super Bowl, but you know, I was just happy I got to witness this incredible team make it back to the Super Bowl in my lifetime. I think this Eagles vs. 49ers thing will be a huge rivalry for many years to come, and I can't wait for it. Go Birds baby!!

as a seahawks fan i can confirm those feelings!! I had a blast this year watching a team that wasnt supposed to win past 5 games to go .500 with a QB nobody thought was ANY good.. now if that defense would just tighten up ..... and offense to be honest lol

As an Eagles fan 2 of those calls were absolutely trash. The refs got those 2 calls way wrong. So let's give you 2 more tds. That means you still lose 31-21. The othe 10 penalties came from the 49ers being undisciplined doing stupid shit like facemask, false starts, offsides etc. Anyone being honest about that game knows that's the truth. A couple calls were definitely wrong. All the rest were the fault of the 49ers defense lacking discipline for this game.

Excuses
In this game we potentially saw the benefits of the cautious approach Sirianni has taken to preparation this season. In the off season players were expected to maintain fitness levels but there was definitely an emphasis on being healthy, resting and low impact practices. During the season the veteran players were rested pretty much every week. When injured players were not rushed back. All of this shows the trust between players and coaches. Players not being injured outside of games and invested backups- I was impressed with Dillard today.
I was hoping that would happen. I hope visiting teams fans have learned their lesson about putting their jersey on the rocky statue. Opposition is 0-2 in championship games when their fans have done this.

Remove everything except "Brock Purdy out" and you're good, everything else was icing on the proverbial cake. The 49ers defense as good as it was wasn't going to be making up for the lack of offense in this game.
