All sides at the club should be singing off the same song sheet, ie: tactics, formations and playing style, this will allow progression from the under 18’s / 21’s into the first team as a smooth transition. Players would automatically know & understand there duties and role and easily fit into the training regime and transition very quickly.
Wouldn’t have believed for a minute that Moyes even knew we the U21 existed - let alone watched them.
Didnt know he had a bench either 😂
I remember when I went on a tour of Barcelona ground, back in the 1990s and they told us then, that all the teams train the same way, so to your point we are only now thinking of doing things this way!
A fantastic watch and gonzo is right we all support the academy and the players it provides
i think we should have kept nolan
Definitely kevin nolan has enough about him as Mr in-between from the top brass to the players and back room staff a versatile commodity
Great insight into the workings of the academy and something fans need to know.
How different Moyes would have been perceived if fans knew his involvement with U21’s.
The football was still underwhelming and dull but his statistics will remain as our most successful manager.
It was his negative boring tactics, that people were fed up with, he still would have been perceived in exactly the same way
@@barringtondavis7294 totally agree, I couldn’t be bothered to attend so many games where we knew low block was senseless. The point I was trying to make badly was because everything was kept hidden to the fanbase we couldn’t make any connection with him.
great video .. ricky is clearly a smart chap . speaks very well
We really should be looking to develop a larger site in Essex for all teams. State of the art etc etc etc. Most of the squad live out that way. Time to invest Sully. Once there we can sell Rush Green which would give you a cash kick back. We’re Premier League. Come on!
You're right, but it won't happen under our current ownership. Tim showing Lopetegui around the portacabins the other day was embarrassing...
@@dirkdiggler1 double embarrassing 🙈
@dirkdiggler1 maybe if Moyes hadn't wasted all that money , think of the players wh ( via moyes ) brought in to play , and have been resold at a greater loss .
Just think 🤔 of how much of that could have been invested into providing a greater set up compared to what we have now .
Too me it seems that sullivan has absolutely no wanting to up date whs training facilities
Does that investment come under FFP though? Is 20mil on a training ground 20mil we can’t spend on a player? Could be worth it but the youth won their league and the cup, will a new ground improve them or will it just look better?
I’ve been saying for a long time that all the age groups and 1st team should be training in the same complex then the youngsters can watch the 1st to inspire them and some integration
It much be such a satifying job; both a fan of the club, and a plan of football. Very interesting video - thanks to both you and Ricky for makign it happen.
This is so obvious, there is no point in having young players in academies at all if you don’t promote just save the money for buying. Personally I’d promote the young players. Also the other players would naturally step up their game to help and protect the youngsters coming in fostering a great team spirit.
Watched the 45 min podcast on Patreon ..really good !
If the U21's mirror the first team why were they (and the U18's) playing 3-4-3 and Moyes was playing 4-2-3-1 ? Doesn't seem seamless to me?
Top content, as usual. Hammers Chat 🙌🏼 ⚒️
Great interview 😎👌
I wonder if post office deal goes through could be new sponsor and could give us a massive deal to help with transfers
If I were a parent of a talented young person with some real flair I would hesitate putting his in a club run by DM with such a negative style of play. Now with JLo in situ the academy should start to pick up again
Livin' La Vida Loca ...
This what we want to hear...how the club works.
Communication from the club on this point has been nothing short of awful.
Weve had to hear it via a you tube podcaster ( albeit our favorite!) And an academy manager who has gone rouge.
