As for the lore behind this song, all I can give are a few key events as well as what happens after (more detailed in the link above)
The glitching out before Pico just fuckin loses it is Darnell landing a shot (if it wasn't clear from the gunshot sound). That shot hit Pico in the eye.
The ARG details that Pico was called off, and told that there was a more important target nearby (I'm sure you can guess who that is!)
Darnell just barely got away with his life.
This is a dope ass way to introduce DD - way cooler than him just sitting by himself on his stage lmao

but things are still either going to end well or dire, if Spirit is going as a neutral party he could try to kill both Pico and Darnell, if he's on Darnell's side they could free Pico, but if he's going to help Pico, Darnell is done

Okay, I really like this song and I really like the idea of Darnell getting chased by Pico. Also I like the detail of the song name glowing in a different color every time Spirit sings. Since many people here proved that the letters in the end translate to exorcism, and Pico in the final artwork before the screen goes black seems to glow in Spirits colors, I think Spirit transferred himself into Pico like a parasite that will now break out from his victim again

Alright. We've got a LOT to unpack here, thats for sure. First of all though, congrats on 1k Apparition! You deserve it! This song is actually FIRE though! Reminds me a lot of Blood Moon (2:24, 2:31 especially in parts like these) and I love that. Truly a GETBACKHERE classic. I just wanna mention how funny Darnell's expression is at 2:01 LMAO.
Okay, now to discuss the actual thing that's behind this. I guess a quick summary of the song itself would help me here:
_Darnell, thinking he's safe from Pico, drives away from the scene of the Aftermath. Pico catches up, most likely due to the corruption's enhanced power. The song starts. At __1:07__, Darnell finds a spare gun which he uses on Pico. Darnell looks to be winning for a little bit, judging by his expression. In a weird twist of events, Pico seems to glitch out, startling Darnell. Pico goes MAD. And I mean MAD MAD. We can see that his Spirit eye has grown significantly. Not only that, you can actually HEAR Spirit's voice when Pico sings sometimes (take __3:15__ for example.)._
The song ends, and we're met with a text that reads: "you have the key. now find the lock." with a Hexadecimal code that translates from '45 58 4f 52 43 49 53 4d' to *'EXORCISM'*. Huh.
This begins my theory. Since Pico is outraged now, with Spirit's voice now being heard, and the text saying 'EXORCISM', I'm concluding that Spirit, is going to somehow be exorcised from Pico's body. I mean, it fits the definition of exorcism, so I'm thinking that's the case.

I think Darnell landed a shot on pico and that's why he got so angry maybe the "exorcism" is spirit not being able to be kept inside pico anymore from the bullet wound
Time to recap everything going on In total BF seems to be struggling but thankfully Soul BF Is coming to help so we might get BF back who knows as for darnell.. things are going much worse for him It seems as If corrupt pico Is not letting him get away eventually darnell damages corrupt pico alot causing he's eye to start cracking slowly causing whatever dead remains of spirit that got caught Inside corrupt pico to come out In total corrupt pico starts uses the spirit leftovers causing him to mutate slowly and distort he's vocal chords even more from now on I'll be calling him.. Possesed Corrupt Pico by the way the code at the end translates to EXORCISM which Im guessing Is gonna be the name of the second song In this week of darnell running away let's hope chud will be able to find help because he aint gonna stand much of a chance agaisnt whatever the hell corrupt pico became now..
After seeing the end of the ARG and what it implies, I really hope Darnell doesn’t just get recorrupted. It’d be pretty unsatisfying since that trope has already been used on MM.

i feel like after this song pico trips or slows down from him going too crazy/overheats in the last part (darnell gets away) after pico coolsdown after trying to get darnell he roams around then finds lemon demon who give him a task to go find and corrupt or kill daddy dearest
i feel like if someone does make a mod on this they should make pico keep running but look pissed with spirit unleashed making him fly makes the scene a lil less crazy

Ah, well this destroys my theory of what happens during BF vs Insanity BF week
Seeing the end of Aftermath with this pink face similar to the first appearance of Soul in the Corruption OG mod (after Deathmatch's Next Time), and the omnipresent glitch I had thought that Corrupt Pico had sent Corrupt Spirit into BF to maintain it corrupt.
But Spirit still seems present in Corrupt Pico
