      @irenegaile  Před 4 měsíci

      Hello! First, check and make sure that the sunscreen youre using is good enough to protect your from your sun exposure. And then remember, it’s not enough to just put on sunscreen, you should also wear protective clothing and seek shade whenever possible. Lastly i recommend products that boost sun protection like antioxidants and anti-inflammatories to protect you against DNA damage from uv radiation and free radical exposure.

      This topic deserves its own video. Collagen supplements are safe and effective as long as they are made by reputable brands but there are no large-scale studies showing that when ingested, they go directly to the skin. • @irenegaile
      @irenegaile  Před 3 lety

      if your skin can tolerate without moisturizer, then it's ok not to use one, although meron iba na nadadry ung skin nila so gumagamit sila. Applying the moisturizer BEFORE the epiduo is ideal when starting to use retinoids or in individuals with sensitive skin as doing so protects the skin but this may dilute the epiduo. Applying the moisturizer AFTER will keep the skin from getting dry and prevent irritation.

    I'd love to hear your thoughts on men facial care doc. Questions like, is it good to place products after shaving because a lot of times, I get redness and itchiness in my neck after I place sunscreen on a newly shaved neck and face area; do men products actually make any difference with the ones I am using now that are usually marketed to women?

    • @irenegaile
      @irenegaile  Před 3 lety +1

      Actually, very good topic suggestion. I should start working on it. With regards to your question, it depends on what you use to shave. Disposable razors are generally abrasive and tend to cause microtears in the skin especially if you like to do a close shave or if you dont use a shaving cream (or something to help glide the blade against your skin). In this case, i wouldnt advise that you out anything potentially irritating after such as acids or even retinoids and instead use a barrier repair cream or a moisturizer. Electrical razors are more gentle and can actuallly be used without shavkng creams but are not as effective in giving a close shave. In this case you may still put your actives after, even the potentially irritating ones.

    Hi dra., I would like to ask po if it is also advisable to take collagen powder supplements during the mid 20s for prevention purposes. Also, if I had a laser resurfacing in my mid 20s to remove acne scars, will it still be apparent when I reach 30s or 40s? Thank you!

    • @irenegaile
      @irenegaile  Před 3 lety +1

      Collagen supplementation is still quite controversial because of conflicting studies. In your mid 20s I dont think you need it yet since you're still making collagen in your skin until your mid to late 20s.
      As for your scars, laser resurfacing is a good way of addressing them but scars will never be like normal skin, based on my experience they can look less noticeable with treatment but as we age, you may experience them being more visible (without treatment) as we continue to lose collagen and elastin.

    Hi doc. Magtatanong lang po ako kasi, I used the advance rejuvenating set ng hello glow dahil nagwoworse na yung mga pimples and black heads ko and it was my first time encountering it. Okay naman po sya no harsh feeling sa skin but then after a week of using it mas lalo po nagworse yung pimples ko para syang nagiging acne na then marami akong nararamdaman na bumps na parang magiging tagihawat na, naging good side nya lang nawala yung blackheads ko. Akala ko kasi purging stage parin kaso po nababahala na po ako kasi walang nagbago after 2 months ko syang gamitin and still continue using it. Ano po kaya marerecommend nyong gawin ko. Sana po matulungan nyo ko. By the way po my skin type is oily skin po.

      Have a proper consultation and assessment, Christine Joy. That way your skin can be assessed and you will be given the right medications for your acne. For moderate to severe acne kc hindi enough ang over-the-counter products.

      Usually after 2 weeks of using it every other night and you didn’t experience any irritation or redness pwede na cya gamitin nightly. If you want to use a moisturizer, better to use it after if you dont want to “dilute” the adapalene. By the way, did you buy this on your own or was it prescribed?
