Say what you want, but look at Michigan’s passing numbers in 2017 before Patterson got there. He came in and was a definite upgrade. Wasn’t spectacular, but solid.
Facts
Hard to think of anyone who wouldn’t have been an upgrade from John O’Korn. Even Brucie from The Longest Yard came to mind, but I eventually decided not.

Played football with Shea back when we was 11&12 yr olds he has all the arm talent in the world he can be a huge difference maker in the NFL with the right coaches around him. Rooting for u brother here from Houston 🤘🏽

Compared to the years before Patterson it’s night and day, don’t think Patterson was as good as people initially thought but he was worlds better than O’corn or Speight. If Patterson was on the 2016 team we woulda beat OSU. We should’ve anyway if not for the refs. Our offense was actually decent, the defense let us down in the big games

I'm not surprised he went undrafted. Careless with the football, inconsistent, doesn't throw a tight spiral, average arm at best, misses wide open targets and is undersized. Basically just a game manager in college

Welcome to the BC Lions of the CFL, Shea Patterson. Should win the backup role to Mike Reilly
He has the physical tools but something was always awry in the outcomes. Hopefully KC and work on either his footwork or not focusing on receivers (scan the route tree). In the right offensive system he could be a game manager type. I expected the Patriots to give him a try but they did not even think it was worth it, he will be on the KC D-squad for sure in 2020.
He still has 5 years left on his MLB avenue with the Rangers but it seemed he was not anticipating going undrafted.

He did break a lot of records at Michigan so he couldn’t had been that bad and he was the first QB we had in awhile to go 2-0 against Michigan state but he could’ve played better against osu but that right there was the whole team
