When I did my 3.4 conversion I used nut-zerts to hold things down in the engine bay. Plus any time I do things on Toyota's at junk yards or at home I save all my hardware, so I have Toyota hardware from small fine thread screws to large nuts and bolts in numerous ammo cans. I Pulled a battery tray out of a wrecked Tacoma and welded it into my rig since it will never be removed.
You can relocate your oil filter to the rear of the block using your cooler delete if oil filter clearance is an issue. You just need a large allen to remove and reinstall the all thread for the filter. Doing this will make it easier to get to the oil filter from the bottom an help minimize the mess you make.
Rear sump oil pan and pickup tube from a 95-04 Tacoma 3.4l 2WD will bolt right in as well.
