Adam F - Circles (Album Edit)

- Carrying on the theme of Circles here is Circles. Bit of a strange word if you look at it for a while. Old DNB. Deep yet lighthearted, chilled yet bashment; this true classic gets me pumped whatever I'm doing, where ever I am.
Label:Astralwerks
Format:CD, Album Colours
Released:Nov 1997
Style:Drum n Bass, Jungle - Hudba
how are people crying about pink panthress rinsing this when the entire melody of the tune is a sample of Bob James? The cultures built on bringing shit back!
Because people are fucking stupid, simple as that
@@FranciscoFJM pior que é verdade meu mano, a pink panthress é muito talentosa e as pessoas parecem que não entendem o conceito de samplear
literally says Bob James as the lead writer of the song and Adam F as the other lead writer?
@@iseck6932 that’s what it says when a sample is used it’s basically just credit
Pink Pantheress using this sample is only going to revive jungle music, and I fucking love jungle. Nothing but love for them for showing many the junglist style!
I’m 50 years old but every time I still hear this it puts a massive grin on my face how I wish I could go back to them days
Same here mate!! I thought it was just me!!

U right Ian i m closer to your age but MUSIC FOR ME IS AIR .CHOOSE LIFE .PEACE
54 years old here, and this music will always float in aeternum (forever).
When i first got my driving license back in 1997 i had a mix CD that a friend of mine gave me with some classic tracks on it by Roni Size, Adam F, Andy C, Grooverider, LTJ Bukem... etc
My car was a shitty Nova and the sound system cost more than the car itself but i loved that car more than any other car i've had since.
Whenever i hear this 'Circles' track it's like a time machine that takes me straight back to those glory days of DnB and the great friends and fun i had at the time.
Enjoy your youth while you can kids because life goes fast!
I'm now 44yrs old and it feels like only yesterday i was a care-free teen with no worries in the world 😌
We've all been in a Nova like yours getting a lift to someone's house party with this track playing on the stereo 🤣
OI! Old, old Novas aren't sh*tty. They have very foldable seats and you can take a real lady out for a nice drive too :)
Nah man, I'm only messing! I bet your Nova was better than mine - only one wing mirror and four forward gears but it was rockin when I was 19. Bless you all :D
I also had a red Nova and loved it. Was my second car if I remember rightly. Me and my pals also had similar experiences listening to jungle/drum & bass and uk garage and also playing on decks around each other’s houses without a care in the world. Then you eventually have to get a proper job and career and before you know it you’re 40 ffs 😂
Pink Pantheress sampling this is a good thing. The jungle community isn't as big as it used to be, so shedding light onto this masterpiece only opens a gate to a new genre for some.
And she killed it while doing it!
Unless its used on that cancer TikTok
@@Vitor20XX yeah no need to be one of those people who hate popular things. tiktok basically boosted pink pantheress but wtvr
Her producer sampled this
Couldn't agree more! And really, any of us oldies who lapped up DnB back in the day, who had come from Hip Hop and House and UK Garage - this whole area of music is based on sampling. Exactly as you say, we should be happy that more people will learn about the older classics!
This has to be one of best Jungle/Drum & Bass tunes ever made...Timeless.
Nickyt timeless...that's Goldie.lol
I like how you said one of .... theres so many classics like this.. I'm not sure we will ever get to the number 1 tune lol
why do people say jungle/drum and bass now? is that like the official name? it annoys me. not my scene any more though I guess. ha ha. the name was changed from jungle to D&B to make it more inviting to students. I know you can pin point a sound known as jungle and then a hard step sound which could be called drum and bass, but I always just seen it all as one music, jungle is just an older term for D&B.
just my opinion though like.
It’s not goldie he worked alongside Adam then stole the track and stopped Adam from producing he done this to loads of artists imagine the tracks we could of had of Adam f if goldie could produce his own music
@@awoken8infinite Same, it's all jungle to me. If it causes the jungle neurons to fire, it's jungle.
this music doesn't age. It sounds like new every single day.
I grew up with this, had the best jungle and drum and bass years, met all djs, Goldie, Fabio groove rider the list goes on
26 years old and it still sounds futuristic. That's incredible.
Sounds new cause all we do now is flipp samples to lazy for the real work
Beautiful
Song sounds just like a rainy day in London. Captured perfectly
I always felt it was a "clear, somewhat busy autumn evening in the city" vibe personally 🙃
Is this basically what London was in the 90's?
I’d say a sunny day in late 90s LA but we all have our own song imaginations
What about a late night stroll in a busy city whiles its raining
Sounds like being in London Underground during rush hour in 1997
That "Check check check" sound bite is so hype
I thoughted turkish
I always thought it was “tick” lol
I'm seeing a lotta controversial chat about the pinkpantheress girl who used this banger of a track for her song. I agree with the oldskool heads to an extent that she didn't actually 'sample' the song, as sampling refers to taking out a SEGMENT of the song and flipping it into your own style, in this instance she didn't take a segment, but the WHOLE song which always needs permission by the original artist (this is only fair as in the music world, usin' another producers track for commercial purposes aka putting songs up on spotify, apple music etc without their permission is essentially theft, as the original artist is losing out on money - pretty str8 forward).
BUT...
Since she blew up with the song, she now has a consistent audience that rates what she did with the track, so exceptions were made by the looks of it (and ofc a lot of £££). HOWEVER, she said that she CLEARED the 'sample' (this track) with ADAM F (original producer) meaning he's OKAY with her using it as he's getting paid for it, so it's all equal - you can't really fault her or any1 here in this situation as permission was in fact given.
MUSIC IS MUSIC - let shit be, every1 is entitled to their own tastes. I understand the mentality of the oldskool heads have where, they don't want tiktok to 'ruin' their scene with PERHAPS, cheesy vocals over the top etc (btw not saying they are cheesy personally jus using an example they might use/say). But the thing oldskool heads dont get is that, the original song isn't going anywhere lol, the old classic dnb, jungle, happycore- whatever the fk you're listening to will ALWAYS be there, thats the whole point of the internet, you can go back in time - theres records of everything so please relax. Isn't fair to blame the girl and slur against her when all she did was make a harmless song- If anything the oldskool listeners should take it as a COMPLIMENT that she used this track in her song, it will certainly put on more of the new generation to oldskool genres as they might get the incentive to check out the original track and listen to more similar stuff if they like this one!
Well said. The truth is all music is influenced by bits and pieces of other music that has come before since time immemorial...been heard and appreciated then passed onto future generations. When the suits and leeches get involved, there's money to be made...even if the artists and the listeners themselves DGAF. We are just here for the vibes, not the politics and red tape that the bureaucrats deem to market our passions and entertainment by..

Well said bro
Hi, me here, the new generation, being interested in the original track so I can listen to more similar stuff......
I think i'm ok with that now, also the same happened with #BrooklynBloodPop, i got a strike because i was talking to syko but they removed it
the way the bass leads the atmosphere is timeless, it makes me wanna say smart things but ultimately leaves me speechless

Holy crap I've been looking for this song for ages! I heard this song in a gym back in 1997 and always wondered what this track is called and I finally found it wow! I've always hummed the bassline and drum hits and remembered the check, check, check part. That's the downside finding songs with no lyrics at times. Wow I feel like my life is complete now!

Very interesting that this track still appears in sets today, yet the rest of the ambient jungle scene is largely forgotten. I hope more people see this track for what it is - the tip of the iceberg of the golden era of drum and bass.
AFAIK it was called intelligent drum and bass 😉
@@seldom8075however the originators of jungle (basically the father of dnb) actually disliked that term, as it insinuated that other jungle and dnb was unintelligent.

I was never really into drum & bass. Probably because back in the 90's all the dudes (and I literally mean dudes, as in no women) in my local d&b scene were into super hardcore stuff with no melody or feeling. They didn't even dance. They stood around the dj booth with hoodies on slightly bobbing their heads, looking like they were too cool to have fun. But...I had a mix on CD called Junglized that had this and some other stellar drum & bass tracks. Man I wore that thing out. I've been looking for this track ever since. Thanks for posting!
