This is truly amazing! My father was a longhorn alumni and we went to almost every home game when I was a child. He passed away in 2003, but I know his spirit still listens to Texas Fight every time y'all play it! I was also in marching band in high school :)
Thank you so much, Austin. That was AWESOME!!! Please do some more of these. I'm an old band geek and I felt like I was right there on the field with you. I was overcome with emotion and pride. Great job of editing. The part with the football players running through was great, and I LOVED the way it ended, with the fans yelling TEXAS! FIGHT! Yeah, baby. This is what it's all about. HOOK 'EM!!!
This brings tears to my eyes! I love the part where you can hear the crowd cheering! It also shows the dedication and precision and passion the LHB members have in this group. Hook that!!!!
Really enjoyed this, especially the switching back and forth between rehearsal and performance. Well done. I'm old school, though, and wish they'd use snare drums that sound like real snare drums, instead of the tippy-tap sound they use for DCI-style shows.
Mind-boggling to see this from a Go Pro. There was no such thing when I was in LHB! Made me feel like a kid again watching :) Also showed it to my 3rd grade class...never too early to start influencing them!! Thanks for sharing...
Austin! What a totally kick butt video with your GoPro! Your editing was totally fantastic as well. Loved the back and forth from practice to actual game time performances! Well done bro! Can't wait for the upcoming season! Hook 'Em!
It totally rocks! The cool thing about the GoPro is that it really makes you feel like you're there and in this video, you feel like you're actually Austin playing the drums in LHB! Hook Em LHB!
FFF Member it's simple. Just start in the 6th grade and practice everyday of you're life and eventually you remember. I know because I'm a percussionist.
+Yolo_swaggatron band competitions aren't really a thing in college. some smaller schools or schools that spend time perfecting a show might enter some kind (?) of competition, but at UT we never really spent more than two weeks on a show. Typically we put together a show in three or so rehearsals, and if we happen to play that show for more than one week, we're primarily focused on learning the drill for the next show already. it's more for fun than anything.

What about the Aggie’s marching band?
I love pregame! Calypso is my fave part of the pregame show. What a fascinating perspective you provided. It was mesmerizing. Thanks for posting!

Nimgimmer1492 the snare is turned off thats why you dont get that beady kinda sound because its turned off
I'm not a fan of the DCI snare drum either. Sounds like they're beating on the bottom of a frying pan
