Carrying an oversized luggage in an airport can bring along various hassle and you have to pay extra charges for that as well. In this video I have explained how you can measure your luggage dimension for international flights. I have also explained how much can you pack in your suitcase and other packing guidelines that will make packing for your next flight easier.

Is that a 29” suitcase? When adding the dimensions of a 29” bag on Amazon it comes up to 62.2”…will they let me check that size since it’s .2 inches over?

In January of 2024 i am going to india out of SFO to dubai and on that flight they are only allowing 7kg carryon..says a briefcase and a handbag. Do you know if i have a wheeled suitcase within the allowed dimensions will they allow it since it isnt a briefcase?

Im moving to germany (Hamburg) through Emirates flight from Hyderabad..so my baggage weight was 30kg checkin and 7kg cabin..so in this case we can shuffle 30kg into 2bags like 1 large trolley 20kg and 10kg in medium trolley..and I have doubt whether we can carry extra laptop bag in cabin with 7kg luggage or no other bags..and we have to keep all the electronic items like, plugs extension box, trimmer with plugs not battery, iron box etc..in cabin baggage or checkin we have to pack. please guide me in this. You can take two suitcases, but one suitcase cannot exceed 32kg. For a handbag, you can take only one piece of luggage weighing 7kg. No extra laptop bag is allowed. Pack all electronic devices at check-in except those which has inbuilt batteries. Any battery device or chargeable device should be put in cabin luggage.
It CAN Exceed 32Kg. Just got to pay a hefty fee!

It would be helpful if airline websites just put abbreviations alongside each measurements for a start ie: Easyjet 45x36x20cm meaning height x width x depth should be written H45 x W36 x D20cm.
I got confused when you used the word breadth as it is not used or abbreviated that way in the UK. You also described the depth as the width which is really really confusing because we always learnt that the depth of something is how deep something goes back. This is so on sites like gumtree. Maybe other countries have different terms for measuring I don't know but this is why the whole world is confused about luggage sizes, not that we are incapable of measuring

I'm British and the word breadth was not at all confusing. Even if it's not a word you've come across before, or are uncertain of its meaning, it's not difficult to work out or. Just use the commo sense you were born with!

The all-side measurement should add up to 125cm

Luggage weight and dimension are completely different. If they measure your luggage at the airport then you will be in trouble and may have to pay for the extra. You are allowed 30kg check-in luggage which should adhere to 158cm and 7kg hand luggage of which the dimensions should be according to cabin luggage rules.

@@MrKowsik I answered the other person, do look at that reply. I don't think it will be a problem really. Oh but they had a problem with my laptop bag weighing more than 4kgs so that's something to keep in mind.

Though you might find an inch or two of a difference with various airlines, the standard domestic carry-on luggage size is 22" x 14" x 9".
I’m traveling Delta. Msp to ICN then connect on Korean air to Laos for an exotic vacation. My luggage linear dimensions is 66.5 inches. So, it’s oversized. I went on the Delta baggage calculator and found out I am required to pay $175 USD because it’s oversized. If it’s oversized and overweight, I’m looking at close to $300. Might as well check 2 suitcases. Way cheaper. What are your thoughts?

You can pre-book your luggage if it exceeds the allowed weight. Try to pack light with lightweight clothes and also plan to reuse your outfits. Pack a detergent bar to to able to wash your clothes. For month long trips, people don't carry 30 outfits. Or else if you are okay with paying extra then it's your call. Also pre booking your luggage can help you save some cost. Try to buy a 62" suitcase as well.

Please check the measurements mentioned in the video. Anything bigger than that may become a problem and you may have to pay a hefty amount at the airport for your luggage

If your important documents makes it 7 kg, then its better not to carry anything else along with it. Max you can carry a hand bag or a purse/fenny bag as its small in size and could be allowed as a personal item.

In Emirates, extra weight is calculated on per Kg if your flight follows weight concept. Pre booking your extra luggage can get you some discount

The only place I know you can carry 30kgs is FIJI

Ma'am please confirm that as an example, if I have a trolley which is 30 inches by length (including wheels), 20 inches by width and 12 inches by height then I will get 30+20+12=62 linear inches which is the max size of check-in luggage that are approved by the airlines

You are absolutely correct. You have to measure suitcase including wheels. This applies to all luggages but few airlines have separate specifications which may carry from an inch or two. So please check with your airlines.

You may be lucky to pass through but if they doubt and ask you to measure, you will be in trouble. The maximum size allowed by Air India is 62 linear inches. If you have bought the bag recently, it's better to exchange

@@user-eb4ub9qe2z Different tickets bought under different airlines offer separate baggage allowances. The standard allowance of luggage in Indian domestic flights is 7kg hand luggage and 15kg check-in luggage. So please check your ticket and find your luggage information

Generally, they won't check but it's a risk. If they check, they will not ask for extra money but they will not allow you to carry the luggage.
