Hi... Was there waiters around the pool areas to bring drinks to you on your sunbed? I'm noticing on vloggs, that people say there isn't. But they seem to be on the 3 to 4 days cruises and not 7 or more. Do you remember if there was service around the pools on yours ?

@@Stephanie-vx4zi we received some really great service while sitting at a table in the main pool area (not far from the sunbeds) on our last cruise on the Meraviglia a few weeks ago. We did have a decent sized group (7 of us) that was tipping pretty generously, so that may have had something to do with it.

Watching with Mom today. I’ve only taken 2 luxury cruises (so I thought). Mom is a pro with a dozen or so. We both agree we have never seen a ship even close to this. I’m not even sure I’ve visited a town this nice. I’m blown away and ready to upgrade my travels.
Hey Bob! It really is almost unbelievable how inexpensively you can cruise on such a modern and beautiful ship. We honestly had heard a lot of complaints about MSC, and there were a few things where this cruise lacked compared to our other cruises. But for the price we paid we could never complain about the overall experience. It's an absolute bargain. We hope you get a chance to try it out for yourself someday!

Thanks for the excellent overview. We mainly sail Celebrity for a variety of reasons but we've been intrigued by MSC because of their hardware and their sailings from Port Canaveral. The island looks fantastic.
We will say that the food on the MSc ship doesn't compare to Celebrity (with the exception of the breads, cheeses, pizza, pasta, and coffee). But... if you are happy sticking to those things, you're food experience will be quite good. You basically just have to eat/drink like an Italian for a few days 😂. The service also doesn't compare to Celebrity, but when you are paying half the price or less, you can live with waiting a bit longer for your food and drinks. We are thinking you could probably book a Yacht Club room on MSC for around the same price of a standard room on Celebrity, so that may be a more apples to apples comparison that we'll hopefully get to do some day! And yes, Ocean Cay is nothing short of fantastic! Thanks for watching!

We do recall one period where the ship did seem to be rocking pretty good, but it was shortly after the Captain had warned us that we'd be going through some bad weather. Well, I was on this cruise on its second trip, which meant it was brand new at the time, and quite frankly, still is. My trip was around the North Atlantic, and even went to exotic places such as Iceland. It was an extremely fun experience, and everyone on board was very friendly. Despite the extremely choppy waters then, the experience and level of fun of the onboard activities did not change. It was such a fun experience that I will never remember, and it is such a shame they stopped trips around the North Atlantic, as I feel that the destinations are not as fun and exotic anymore.

@@Explorcation same. We have been on three MSC cruises, one 4 night interior, one 7 night balcony, one 4 night balcony, all with drinks and wifi for a total less than $2500!
These prices you think you would be on a cruise line with old sad decor and nothing but a drunk fest.
Not so on MSC, there can’t be a better vacation value out there anywhere.
Going again on a 7 nighter with drinks and wifi on MSC Seaside in a few months. Not as good of a deal but still less than $1500 total.

@@keithshaw2208 Hey Thanks for sharing your experience, We were looking to book an 7 day from NYC in May. How are the lines for the bars throughout the ship? I read alot ot recent reviews indicating the lines were extremely long for drinks and they bars were extremely understaffed.
My family and friends are going the end of this month. Hopefully, it's not too crowded.
We hope it's not either, although this time of year we'd be surprised if it's not full or close to it. Even if it is, you can still enjoy it, you just need to avoid the busiest spots during the busiest times of the day.

That was SO much fun! I fully admit I'm more a Barefoot Windjammer girl (sadly...now defunct) than a glitz and glam girl, but I really enjoyed this tour! My favs were the views, especially from the ropes course, which looked like fun and, of course, seeing all the food! The buffets looked very tasty (especially the desserts!) and it was great seeing all the bars on the ship. Ocean Cay is so beautiful! That would be my fav place of all. Thanks, guys, for another great cruise ship tour...y'all did a great job of showing the ship and all the fun to be had on it. 🙂
We have never even heard of the Barefoot Windjammer, but it sounds like something we would have loved! The MSC ship is pretty fancy, but one night Skylar showed up for the "fancy dinner" looking like he came straight from the beach (or the beach bar), and there was no problem! So we'd call the ship "fancy optional" 😂 Ocean Cay really is what sold us on MSC though. It's even more beautiful than we were able to capture on video.
@@Explorcation Windjammer Barefoot Cruises featured beautiful historical tall ships that sailed the Caribbean out of Miami probably long before the two of you were born. Casual and fun! 🙂

Great ship tour! We are going to do that in late 2024 when we do back to back Carnival cruises. We can't wait! Keep in touch and hopefully you can find our Brightline station tours helpful if you ever decide to take the train from Orlando to south FL when it opens in a few months. We've never done back to backs before, but that sounds like a lot of fun! I'm sure we'll ride the Brightline sooner or later... especially if we are able to haul our e-bikes on it!

Thank you for one of the best videos on Meraviglia I’ve seen to date. I’ve sailed on her 3 times & you both covered just about everything. My friends & I got an incredible deal just as cruising was returning from Covid (only 750 passengers). MSC status matched my Diamond Level with RCCL and we all sailed solo in balcony cabins at an unheard of price. full capacity now and hate that she’ll be going to New York.
Our pleasure. We're so happy to hear you enjoyed it! Our first cruise on the Meraviglia was only around 60% (and it was great), but we couldn't imagine it with only 750 passengers! And to sail solo in a balcony cabin sounds even better! We had heard elsewhere that MSC will match statuses from other cruise lines, which is great news for our parents who have amassed quite a few cruises on Celebrity!

@@atchuthanloganathan6682 on our first MSC cruise in late 2022 the ship was nowhere close to fully booked, so the lines were not bad at all. On our second cruise in February of 2023 the ship was much busier, but the amount of staff seemed to be the same. As a result, the lines were longer and sometimes we'd have to wait 5-10 minutes. One tip is to know what times the bars open, and show up right as they open to get a good seat at the bar. Get to know your waiter/bartender and tip them, and you'll probably receive quicker service.

I'm like 200! I think I would like that champagne bar - but my husband would not lol. The LED ceiling reminded me of Fremont Street in Vegas. You had me at mozzarella and pizza. Their private island looks pretty nice - too bad the bars aren't all open. The lighthouse show and dance party looked so fun! I'd give MSC a try in future.
Wohoo! Thanks for the like! For some reason we always get more dislikes than usual on these cruise videos... but I guess some people just hate cruise ships 😅. That ceiling was pretty cool, and reminded us of Fremont as well! If you are down with eating nothing but Italian food for a few days, you can have a pretty awesome time on this cruise!

For the price we paid for this cruise we were shocked too! The food and drinks alone made the cruise worth it. Hopefully those butter prices come down so you can save up some cash to go on this cruise! 😂

Thanks so much. There was a retro/disco/70's night on the first nigh of each of our three day MSC cruises. The Lighthouse show can be viewed from pretty much anywhere on the island, but only from one side of the ship. The party is on the beach closest to the dock. We did go to a hypnotist shop on one of our MSC cruises, and there was no charge. We have never experienced a magic show on the ship though, so unfortunately we can't tell you if there is a charge or not.

This ship looks amazing!! The MSC that I’ve been on is nowhere close to this one 🤩 the glass elevator is so cool and so is the sportplex, waterpark & rope course…so many activities! The Swarovski staircase is definitely great spot for pics 💁🏻♀️

In Italian, "meraviglia" is pronounced as "meh-rah-VEE-lyah." Here's a breakdown of the pronunciation:
"Meh" sounds like the English word "may" but with a shorter 'a' sound.
"rah" sounds like the 'ra' in "rat."
"VEE" sounds like the English word "vee."
"lyah" sounds like the 'lya' in "catalyst," with the stress on the second syllable.

While I didn't have the best cruising experience on my one and only cruise, this looked like a great cruise! The ship is massive! The food looked really good (and fresh!), too. It's nice that you had the information about different drink packages. Because I went on a cruise with friends and someone else booked the entire trip, I didn't have that information. That's really cool that the drink package worked on the island! The beach looked beautiful! Was this a short trip to just that island or did you visit other places?
It really is a massive ship, and while the food wasn't the best we've had on a ship overall, we found several things we absolutely loved (primarily the breads, cheeses, pizza, and pastas). This wasn't the best cruise overall that we've been on, but we do think it was the best value for the money. MSC's private island is amazing, and it's a big part of why we love this cruise so much. This particular cruise is just a 3 nighter. It sails from Port Canaveral to Ocean Cay (the private island near Bimini, Bahama) and docs there for a day and a half before coming back. There are no other stops. So it's kind of a mix between a cruise and an island resort experience. And since they are only sailing a few hundred miles, there isn't much fuel being burned. We think this may be part of the reason why this cruise is so inexpensive.

@@TheReyes351 we do talk more about the food in our latest episode (you may have already seen it) Overall, the Italian food is amazing! But the general food experience at the complimentary dining (buffet, main dining rooms) was not as good as we have experienced on other cruise lines. Now we have heard that the specialty dining options and the Yacht Club dining is much better, but we don't have any personal experience to speak to that. We hope to try the Yacht Club sometime, but it is much more expensive!

Thanks so much! Unfortunately, we don't have an answer for that as we just always sat where they decided to seat us. If you ask the question on the Meraviglia Facebook Group though, I'm sure someone would be able to give you the answer!
I'm going on this ship from NYC to Bermuda only. Already been to the Caribbean and don't like it. Your video is VERY informative. I especially like how you guys inserted the deck plans. Now I know that the rear of Deck #15 has hidden outdoor seating area outside the buffet. My cabin is on the deck directly below that outdoor seating area. So, I can just take the stairs and go down one level and eat and go back to room quite quickly. I always get room service for breakfast because I don't like dealing with crowds so early in the morning.

It really is a beautiful ship, and we hope you have a great time on it. Regarding the shells, some people say that removal of shells can negatively impact shoreline erosion. Plus you might have some guests bringing shells with living creatures in them onto the ship.
thanks so much for the great video. We just finished an NCL cruise, and my son who is 12 was a little disappointed because the pool was adult only. Did you find that any of the pools at MSC were adult only?
We think that the pool at the back of the ship may have been adults only as we never saw any kids in it, but we don't recall ever seeing a sign saying that it was. That pool is a pretty small pol anyway, and probably not one where kids would be wanting to spend a lot of time. Thank you so much for watching.

Unfortunately I don't think we grabbed footage from the menu of the "by the glass" options. If you haven't already, you may want to join the Meraviglia Facebook page and ask on there. Someone in the group may know, or you may get someone who's currently on the ship to look into it and answer for you.
Was on Seascape on its inaugural Miami cruise and going on Merviglia out of New York end of April 2023. Meraviglia from this video looks much nicer.

Question; if you buy the specialty dining package how soon can you make reservations or do you need to make them when you board?
We've always just made reservations as soon as we board, but have found that often times they are already booked up for the first night by the time we board the ship. We've never actually tried to book before the cruise and aren't sure if you can actually do so. That would definitely be a good question to ask MSC.

Thank you, Christine. We sailed on the ship twice. First in October 2022 and then again just a a couple weeks ago (February of 2023). The water at Ocean Cay is a bit chilly and takes a bit to get used to, but it's quite comfortable once you acclimate!

We've sailed with 5 different cruise lines and are happy to say that we have never been limited on our drinks (alcoholic or otherwise). Your body may limit you, but the staff will not 😂
I am considering cruising on this ship and my first MSC experience. Do you know if the inside cabins are actually larger than standard balcony? The square footage on website seemed to indicate they are but the site is not the most informative or easy to navigate.

Sometimes other members have cruised on a ship multiple times and in different room categories and would be able to better answer your question from their experiences staying in both room categories :)

How much are the tickets for the light house? What things are not included on the ship?
We don't remember the exact amount to go to the top of the lighthouse, but we think they were around $20 (maybe slightly less). Things not included on the ship are any of the specialty dining restaurants (there are many of them), any drinks that are not included in you specific drink package, the arcade games, the bowling, Carousel Lounge (where they have the smaller shows/entertainers), to name a few. There are probably a few more things that I'm not thinking of though.
... in defense of those fresh orange to a cocktail deals ... it was the amount of care of the machine itself that is the reason to discontinue it's usage ... safety deal I bet ...
You are absolutely right. A couple of the staff said something along those lines... apparently it's a challenge to get them inspected and/or to pass the required inspections.

My guess is that there would be 2 or 3 formal nights on a 10-night cruise... but we've only done short cruises on MSC so we can't say for sure. We hope you have a wonderful time!

The Brass Anchor Pub had by far the best beer selection, and I do believe they had an IPA or two. I can't recall exactly which one/ones though.
Hello! The easy plus package does that include $10 or less cocktails ? Will you be able to order a margarita or mojito with the package?
On our cruise the Easy Plus package included all drinks up to $9. You will definitely be able to get a margarita and a mojito under the easy plus package, as long as they have all of the ingredients. On our second Meraviglia cruise, many of the bars were out of mint so they could not make a mojito.

It's your personal preference. The is gratuity added on to your cruise, but many choose to tip extra when provided with good service.

I think we covered this in the room tour portion of the video. I believe there was one in one of the drawers in the main part of the cabin (not in the bathroom).

You can definitely walk everywhere on the island. They also have a tram that you can ride around. We definitely enjoyed the island without booking excursions.

We don't know for sure, but we do know that we were never required to present our passports when getting off on the private island. We had to show our ship cards only.

There was a teen club, an arcade, ropes course, sports courts, and waterslides. So definitely enough to have kept us entertained when we were teens!

No for cruises out of the USA but always check with the cruise line.
They were not required for either of our three most recent cruises (two with MSC and one with Norwegian) dating back to October of 2022.
