The Father of K-pop is Lee SooMan from SM entertainment. he brought the boy girl group concept the USA and then made the formula. hence the name Korean pop or K-pop was dubbed. How could RM be the father of something that is older than him?. Math not making sense. Research and stop using terms loosely.

RM is such a diverse artist
Every project by RM is different from the last. He is the most experimental member of BTS. His 148 IQ means his work is layered. In an era of fast fashion and fast pop designed to make a fast buck. RM puts on the brakes. His intriguing songs and mvs require multiple listens. They spark your own imagination. Engage you as the listener to actively participate, yet are addictive. He is a genius at collaboration and those he works with often describe the process as inspiring or that they levelled up. Whether you like his early hard Rap, or his increasingly creative and experimental later work....one things for sure...RM IS AN ARTIST. Very few who are as successful as RM with as much to lose will put this much faith in their fans. He knows his fans are intelligent genuine music fans. Knowledgeable about other music. RM is an artist other artists get excited about. I bought INDIGO for my carefully curated collection. Those albums I consider will be considered cult classic... pivotal. RIGHT PERSON WRONG PLACE is ordered.... I suppose I should not be surprised.

All respect for RM who's not afraid to evolve as an artist. His experimental decisions in music just shows his passion for his craft. Since the beginning his purpose in doing music isn't centered on popularity and fame but rather for his musical expression to be heard and appreciated. I have yet to fully absorb his new album since it's totally different from my usual preference in music but then again, BTS's music wasn't exactly my cup of tea either before I became an army, but here I am - a full fledged ARMY for 7yrs now genuinely enjoying their music. And just as I supported BTS for the past 7 years, I will fully support RM and his music. I will always do.

The biggest achievement on the charts is that he and the members can dominate with very little radio play, especially with their songs sung mostly in Korean. It's an advantage that Western artists have as radio play accounts for a large part of charting numbers in some cases.
BTS break the barriers of language with their music because they are phenomenal.
When you realise BTS made it to no.1 multiple times singing in Korean with almost no radio play, while American artists are given 100,000s of radio spins and still can't beat them... honestly the achievement seems even bigger. Their popularity and fan loyalty is amazing!

for Koreans in general, the last one is japanese more than 50 yrs ago for like 4 weeks, for someone (Asian) born and raised outside US and speaks other than English.
