What did you think of the results? Here is the youtube short from the first video czcams.com/users/shortsHcQpEFrlTf8?feature=share
Some folks just can't be satisfied. It works! Nuff said.😄👍🏻
Ain’t that the truth!
Looks like you tested the handle strength too
Yeah true
I use both a 3800 and a 4800 to haul camera gear on a kayak. I periodically test these by submerging them for at least 30 minutes to make sure they remain water tight and have never had a problem. It takes about 40 pounds to hold the 3800 under water and 70 pounds to keep the 4800 down.
Great video! Although haters from the last video are wrong as fluid pressure affects an object equal on all directions. So the case will experience the exact same pressure on all sides regardless of its orientation 👍🏻
Love the test and this case! Going to purchase a few while they’re on sale!
Thanks!
Thanks Joshua!!👍I've been giving some thought to these cases but now I believe I'll make the purchase. Thanks again for sharing your experiment👍👍 Jay.
Hey glad I could help!
Thank you 🎉
Thanks for the vid
My 2800 is basically a "Man Purse" for hauling pipes, tobacco tins, and the occasional Reefer.
On sale for $35 thru June 30 for Inside Track members. Good idea with the submersion here. Putting bricks on top can alter the results positively or negatively.
Good on you for following up. I'd be interested to see how it does a few meters under water.
Thanks! I’m assuming the deeper it would go, the more pressure it would give the seals to stay closed and keep it dry inside until the water pressure is too much and breaks the plastic, would be neat to torture test it though!
That's awesome, i have this exact case and always wondered how air tight it actually was
I was impressed
I have the 4800 that i keep my Penn reels in. I love it.
Wow thanks I can’t afford some of competitions cases. First test I’ve seen. Yes I have a few pelicans for cameras.
such a good video
Appreciate the kind words!
Hi,love the video. with the apache 5800 if you take it on a plane and don't adjust the valve while in the air will my camera gear get damaged? does pressure build up inside? or would I have to get up once in a while and adjust it?
Have the 3800 mounted as a top case on the rear rack of my DR650. Have the 2800 on the rear rack of my Tenere 700. Bothe cases have withstood some super hard on and off road miles with tools, insulated water jugs, etc banging around in them. As long as the vent is closed, they get zero dust or water intrusion. 3800 is 6 years old now and sun faded, 2800 has a latch pin that like to back its way out on occasion. Only time they have even been wet on the inside is when the vent punched a pinhole in a 6 pack of beer on my commute home..lol
Nice
failed to account for the earth's rotation and expansive geoclastic gases in Norway!
completely slipped my mind!
😂
My thoughts exactly!
The stuff I watch omg, my girlfriend is right, I got boring taste……
Thanks for some watch minutes on my boring content 😂
Not boring, informative. Information is kryptonite to certain people.
Get rid of her. lol 😂
Tell her that's why you picked her. See how that goes. But I'd say her saying that is already a red flag. She can't handle that you can find happiness that easily.
Does anyone know if the pelican latches or handle would fit the Apache line? I like the customization of pelican but the price of the Apache
they're still a good deal even with the price increases. but you used to be able to get the 3800 for $19.99 with coupon 6 yrs ago
Not an extreme "case" if you regularly go boating with your entire firearm collection... 😉 😆
If that is 3 meters under water for 30 days the owner is either drowned somewhere or leads a very boring life! GOOD JOB!
Impressive results. I'd be curious to see how it does with some minor agitation. My potential use case has me indirectly dropping and submerging these into water. I'm not sure I'm trusting these more than my Nanuk just yet, but still cool to see.
Sounds like a boating accident. Consult with your dog before proceeding.
Does the Nanuk use special silicone, latches, or plastic?
@@budderbear Nanuk uses a dual action latch which prevents accidental openings.
💪
So many pistols at the bottom of rain barrels now
OK I’m getting one to store my handgun in
Now do 3 weeks!!!
Yeah I should try it for a month!
I put them on my motorcycle and yes they leak. Great price if it’s not raining
Just strapped on with no alterations to the case? Is the seal properly seated? I’m just wondering what made it leak unless it had to do with the speed forcing water in?
I love all the videos trying to shit on Apache cases. They’re all like “didn’t survive a small localised nuclear blast, what a trash case.”
😂
You should have conducted this test at 100m
🙄
Pleasantly surprised having viewed other tests like this. Most were failures. I thought at first, here's another guy getting some clicks. In ALL manufacturing there are individual product examples that are marginal to down right failures. If a man Builds it, sooner or later its gonna break. For the perfectionist... I guess buy one and test it yourself before use. It is another option to consider.
Edit: This is the first I've viewed your channel. I know Harbor Freights Apache line. I didn't pick up on which model, assuming its the 2800.
Sure, I am trying to get clicks, but also trying to have something worth clicking on 👍🏼
The Apache cases are cheap Pelican knock offs. They're better than nothing, but they're not top quality cases.
I'm not 100% on this, but I doubt the Apache' TSA approved.
The Pelican though does require the O-Ring to be inspected and properly installed if it begins to degrade.
I own several Pelicans and a couple are over 20 years old.
I've seen videos where the Apache' s failed immediately on immersion, so I'm glad you got one that is working the way it should.
Your right, It does not have a pressure valve like pelicans
It’s a nice basic hard case, but for flights etc hauling expensive equipment, you get what you pay for with pelican
Apache is tsa approved. It just has to be lockable and semi non pry-able. There’s a lot better cases out there. However the price point can’t be beat. I’ve flown with them and haven’t had an issue. If you’re worried about high dollar or family heirlooms then, this might not be the case.
Was reading some reviews and they said they had no issues at the airport. Just wanted to clear that up if anyone was curious.
Ahh look at you trying to justify your pelican purchases by telling tales.😆
72hrs? Try 73hrs!
Enough is never enough for some people 😂
Harbor Freight went from cheap to too expensive, and the quality is not better.
The quality of some of their stuff seems to be better in recent years, but also, what hasn't got more expensive?
Now I know where and how to stash my money from the women in the case and in the pond
😂
30 days the rubber integrity will fail
I think I’m going to set up a test for a month
@@TheFixFinder did you do it?
Looks like you definitely got your money's worth
Yeah I’m really impressed with it!
Nice
