I recall Max saying “there’s nothing worse in life than being able to afford anything you want”. And the irony of making 6-figure pieces wasn’t lost on him.
Seems like a genuine dude!
It only makes me feel even more proud of my little 3 budget watch collection.
@@SpaceG95good for you. I have a 4 watch collection, 3 of which cost roughly 150 euros *in total.*
For the co-owner of a high-end luxury watch brand, Max is super down to earth and seems to be a really cool guy. Like he's the high-end luxury watch brand owner that I'd live to have a beer with and talk watches. I doubt I would say the same for the CEO of Patek.
That's mostly what we did sans beer. 30-minute interview will go live in two days.
I agree totally. I had always assumed he was an artist, who expressed it through watches, but it seems he really loves watches, not just as a medium. I never expected him to be so aware of Seiko and vintage watches, and its humanising and endearing that he remains so grounded.
Or the CEO of AP for that matter
He is a living legend he rejuvenated brands like jlc and harry winston and well mbnf is the most interesting independence aside from greubel and debethune no one makes watches like these 3 do max is the reason i love independence
I love how Max called out the Rolex hype without saying it out loud. The creative passion when he speaks is undeniable.
I was thinking Richard Mille.
@@YoureTerrific 🤣🤣🤣
I'm a simple man, I see Max Büsser I click.
This man is, by far, the most interesting watch personality in the industry. I find his views on the industry, the hobby and the people related to it to be always spot on and sincere. He runs a business, yes, but it's clear to anyone who listens to him that he's a enthusiast first, and it's because of it that he understands better than others what the enthusiasts want and what we value. The "hype" behind MB&F is 100% enthusiast-driven. There are no bliged-out Legacy Machines on the wrists of rappers, or on Hypebeast and the like.
Not yet, at least.
The fact that I met Max and talked watches and design with him at the Qatar watches expo is the highlight of my life. What a guy.
Common bro …
If i had the money, i would buy this over any AP or Patek! Absolutely LOVE IT! The chrono ❤
Oh man, my favorite watch content creator meeting my favorite watch designer and manufacturer. Super stoked to see you get a chance to do something like this!
I found your comparison of what you do on this channel and what MB&F do in their watch-making especially apt. Both may not be for everyone (and that's entirely their loss), but for those who enjoy what you create, there's no one better. It's fitting that the pieces you got hands on with fit you wrist perfectly - now if only there was a way for us to know exactly what size that wrist is...
I'll be eagerly awaiting that full interview with Max!
Until I can figure out how to engineer a Twinverter button into my videos I'll try not to compare my work to MB&F too much. But thanks. Really kind.
Full interview goes up on Thursday.
Real entrepreneur spirit associated with child creativity. Great interview thanks.
Thanks for the interview. I’ve never been a fan but Max‘s passion and down to earth manner are infectious. 👍🏽
Fantastic video without wrist size mention... another Terrific man classic.
I absolutely enjoyed it.
Amazing video! The bonus was seeing the new JM G-SHOCK. Happened to wear mine today and was very happy to see it on a wrist in the video!
I've been following MB&F since the HM3 and I'm so happy they haven't folded to the "vanilla ice cream" masses. Max is an amazing guy and their work is absolute perfection. Thank you so much for making this video!!
"more knowledge, less status" 👌
Very interesting interview.
The LM Sequential EVO is mindblowing to me. So stunning, so complex, so interesting.
Such a great video mate. Enjoyed that a lot.
It's exactly what you'd hope for from a MB&F chronograph.
I have wanted this kind of content from MB&F for a long time. Thank you for your efforts and clear, thoughtful and informative interview and editing style.
(Had to add) I can’t believe how knowledgeable Max is about watches on the lower end of the price range! Amazing!
really nice video en nice interview whit Max en nice to hear is mind.
Your content is great. This is not a mechanical interview about mechanical watches. This is a passionate discussion about art pieces that happen to tell the time. Or fractions of it. They're "machines" that are better suited in museums.
Keep up the good work, your content is better than most watch channels, though it may not seem based on subscribers alone.
Eventually they'll get it.
Thanks. As long as I'm happy with the content, I don't think much about the subscriber and viewer numbers. And I'm mostly happy with the content.
@@YoureTerrificyou and Andrew Morgan got the language and the wit. For me 😊
A duo sometimes, maybe?
Not my bag, but I appreciate the different perspectives MB&F offer.
Side note: Vanilla is amazing because sometimes you want comfort or “boring” and sometimes sprinkles, choco syrup, and gummy bears.
Italians will know that the truest simple flavor is fior di latte, not vanilla. But I think of myself closer to a scoop stracciatella and a scoop of coffee in a small cup.
@MJ. Spot on. There’s vanilla (dependable and tasty). There’s vanilla with chocolate chips, cookie dough, etc. (different-but-still familiar, and delicious). There’s even vanilla flavored with mint, chocolate, strawberries, etc. which might also even have those above additives (unique(ish), fun, interesting, and possibly next-level yummy). Then, there’s dogshit. This…well…I think we all know what this is.
Oh my God. I admired Max before watching this. I am enamored of him now.
This is a very inspiring message. Nice thought on more/less from expensive watch buyers too. Thanks for this great video!
What a match. I enjoyed this thoroughly.
Me too
i loved the ceo's passion, truly a humble, extremely knowledgable and full of life guy
Love Max, MB&F, and thoroughly enjoyed this video.
I’d love to have a more nano’er watch! The Salmon perpetual calendar might be worth living in a cardboard box 😎!! Best regards
Not my thing style wise, but very interesting and I can (try to) appreciate the engineering and guts to bring the ideas to life.
That dual chronograph is amazing though!
Such a cool guy, and incredible what he’s doing there 🙌🏻
Fantastic. Looking forward to the full interview. Loved Max's comment on high end watch buyers. So true.
In my book Max and his gang are superheroes in the watch world.
2 Terrific people meeting. This made my day.
Amazing and wonderful, thank you
One of my favorite quotes from Ratatouille: "The average piece of junk is probably more meaningful than our criticism designating it so..." - by this, MB&F's creations are worth infinitely more than the criticisms of those saying "fugly". Have they even created anything that's even .01% the work of art Max's works are?
Mbnf watches are beautiful but then beauty is subjective you don’t need to be an artist to criticise art no one sees beauty in everything for me mbnf is what independence is about its about freedom from the norm of what watches are meant to be someone who wears an mbnf is a rebel at heart or appreciates serious haute horology
He is a truly good human being. I'm with him on 70's designed watches. Watch manufacturers had to get creative because of quartz watches. Thanks Evan!
Good point
This. Was. Wonderful.
Thank. You. Much.
Well you've made it and it's very well deserved your content is some of the best in the watch world
Man, shoot. Thanks.
“More knowledge and less status”. Brother man tossed a truth bomb. 😎🖐🏼💣
Happy to update that planned a whole vacation in paris with family so I could pick my LM101 couple of weeks ago...it was superb!!!! Must visit the MAD house ASAP!!! Love the video man! Bravo 👏🏻👏🏻
Well done! And what a good family you have... we both have.
@@YoureTerrific totally agree 😊😊
One of your best videos ever. Thanks.
One of my favorite to make.
Wonderful video and interview! Keep up the good work Sir.
Love the brand, what it stands for and the great addition they are to the watch community.
Thanks for the video, so happy to see your cinematography skills with these watches.
What an absolute delight this was
100%
He gave a really deep and philosophical interview with Tim Mosso at Watchbox. It's worth a watch.
Amazing video my man 👏 and to answer your question. No you don’t need a home, sell it and buy an Evo! I’m sure your wife would be super proud of you 👍🏼
She wouldn’t stay my wife for long.
@@YoureTerrific I guess I’ll be the guinea pig, wish me luck 👍🏼
His fugly instagram test is pretty cool. Great video, interesting guy who’s going his own way
Based on this short segment, the level of respect I have for Max Buesser is off the charts.
They say one shouldn't meet one's idols/heroes - but could Max be the exception that proves the rule?
I'll never be able to afford an MBF watch, and that's OK - but his philosophy chimed with me. Nothing but best wishes for him and the concern from Prague.
Totally interesting and cool, Very creative and i agree on the knowledge and status comment
What a great video!! I've been a fan of MB&F (although nowhere near able to buy one of these masterpieces) but after seeing this I'm a huge fan of the man himself. He's a true enthusiast and you can feel his passion when he's talking about not only his pieces but look at how he gushed over that digital Seiko. That's real passion right there.
Well…that was pretty freakin’ cool. 👍
"More Knowledge, Less Status" - Need this on a t-shirt
Would wear. Also on my underwear.
So awesome!
Great video! I hope you can post the full interview with Max, please!
Tomorrow
What a great interview. Thanks
HM07 Aquapod green is my favourite MB&F
That thing is amazing
Yeah I like some of those watches.
This was amazing! Thank you for sharing it!
Very cool. Thank you.
This video was amazing!!!!!
I respect the watchmaking but I just can't get past the designs. And I like Belgian Dark Chocolate ice cream thank you.
Great interview, I think you asked him some questions he's never gotten before.
❤️ MB&F!❤
Super cool
Max is amazing. Thank you for this!
Evan 🤯 holy moly guacamole 🤯 two of my fav watch guys, You'reTerrific Evan and Mb&F Max Busser 🙌🏼 This is epic, this is unbelievable 👏🏽 I hope you upload the full interview soon. Thank you for the all the great watch content you produce, kudos to you 👍🏼
Full(ish) interview on Thursday. I'm a lucky dude. Lucky to have these opportunities. Lucky that anyone cares to watch my videos about them.
I just wanted to take a moment to say how amazing your video was! I was really impressed with the quality of the footage, the editing, and the overall presentation. You did a great job of explaining the topic in a clear and concise way, and I learned a lot from watching your video.
I also really appreciated the way you made the video engaging and entertaining. You kept my attention throughout the entire video, and I never felt bored or lost. I would definitely recommend your video to anyone who is interested in learning more about the video.
Thanks again for making such a great video! I look forward to watching more of your content in the future.
PS: I outsourced this feedback to AI.
Loved this video Evan.
What a ‘holiday’!
That looked like fun.
Wonderful to see you/this channel doing interviews at this level.
The only downside is that your videos make me wish I was rich.
What truly amazing machines these things are. I’d love to have one as big as a football and mount it on my wall.
your commentary writing is exceptional and funny
Love it! I say him in 2015. Great interview.
“At $100,000 it me that’s the fragile one here!” Ha! That’s me also!
Very enjoyable.Makes me look forward to getting my C Ward Bel Canto even more seeing the 100,000 LM.Obviously the quality is not in the same league but neither is my bank account and 4,000 pounds can secure the look with a strike complication no less.
Amazing. How'd you get the interview? Is he a fan of your channel?
Some very wise person at MB&F is. He helped make it happen.
That split escapement intrigues me. But... something tells me that it's not common practise by everyone else to do something like that for a reason. Why have open heart watches fail to do this? I can think of the twisting forces on the axle. And you don't want these pieces going beyond their yield strength. Consequently, is this art for art's sake, or has there been some sound engineering (the wet blanket against pure design) worked into it too?
MB&F is one of the most important brands in all of watchmaking. Such a cool take. Amazing video - thanks!
Underrated video
🔥🔥🔥
Two words: “fuck yeah”
Agreed
"At 200000 $ it is a little out of my price range but is owning a house really benefiting me?" Nice
these watches are so fucking insane
Aside from interesting watches Swiss Chalet also makes awesome gravy
So cool you were able to go MB&F and meet Max. Very jealous but great video. I love the creativity of their designs and dream of being able to have one.
How did you get the opportunity to meet and interview Max? Did you call/message ahead of time?
Like I hinted in the video, we'd been in contact for a year. One very intelligent person at MB&F is a viewer of this channel and started the conversation.
Would like to see something weird like a crown at 1 o’clock
Wacky and wonderful
Any idea what car that is you see 43 seconds in? Those tail lights 😮
It is a Wiesmann, an exclusive German sports car brand.
Wiesmann Roadster MF5, apparently only 43 made. Fits your timestamp 🙂
@@heiner71 Very close call ! It's actually a Wiesmann MF4S (the MF4 was the V8 engine, while the MF5 was the V10 engine)
@@maximilianbusser4489 This car certainly fits your taste for the unusual and quirky. I am sure there are not many of the MF4 model to be found in the wild. Kudos for driving it and not having it collect dust in your garage or living room.
You just going to do me dirty and blur that watch at 3:00?
Blurred for just a few more weeks
You want more knowledge sell it for reasonable prices
At cost $2k sell to public $200k 😂
The people who designed these watches probably never eat those packets that say DO NOT EAT. I mean SMART.
You're not supposed to eat those? I thought it was a dare or something. Oh no, I feel sleepy.
"Sold at cost" MB and F is the punk rock watch maker. They are clearly not in this for the cash.
That first MAD Edition 1 was made as a "thank you" for all their partners, people who can't reasonably buy a LM or HM.
I like the watches but hope people realize a watch is worth what someone pays for because he sold his watches at cost for 2k and sells them for 100k plus
