Wow Jimmy that column looks amazing and new steering wheel it don't get no better then this watching the 62C10 build
Thanks very much Jimmy!
It's Jimmy , and the little truck that could ! , I went with a solid lower steering shaft just to get rid of that rubber rag joint ,that took a lot of play out of the steering in my 91 GMC 1500.
Yeah, I may go to a U joint there depending on road feel once it’s drivable. Good idea!
Its all coming together Jimmy well done you should be able to finish that truck next week🤣🤣🤣
Almost, haha!
Aye Jimmmay! That column and wheel look slick.
Thanks very much my friend!
If only you had hair with the fan/wind blowing in the first 30 sec of the video you could have been a movie star. 😮 your the best jimmy. Love the videos!!

The column and steering wheel look great Jimmy! The interior is starting to come together. Looking forward to the next installment Hope you and your family have a great holiday weekend!
Thanks 👍 Hope you do as well!
Truck is looking good Jimmy. I see you have both doors on at the end. You are into the fun stuff now. I rebuilt my original column. It works okay but man it sure is close to the seat. I say there is only about 4". I plan to get one of these cool aftermarket columns in the future but I will be keeping the original steering wheel. I bought a NOS horn button at it is beautiful.
Yeah, I like the original wheels, but wanted a nice one and WOW they are pricey. So went with the $100 special, lol. I may change it later on.
Keep after it!!!
Looks good Jimmy!
Thanks very much!
Hows it going Jimmy. C10 is looking real good with the windshield finally in.
Thank you! So glad to be past that part!
Connect the RJ45 Lan cable to the steering wheel.
lol
That blew my mind. Also watch how he cant even get the distributor cap back on! Unreal! See below! LOL
lol
Hi Jimmy, That is one badass steering wheel. 10/10. Also what transmission is in thr c10?
Thanks! It has a 5 speed from an S10 in it.
steering column guys are crazy... you can an engine block for cheaper than a steering column..
Yeah some Of them are very pricey. This one was $450 from Ididit on sale at Summit.
👍🏻✌🏻🇬🇧💂🏼🥇
Thank
You
Dain!
Hmm, your C10 chevy is a DD breast truck. Anything bigger than a C cup is way to big

Thanks Alex!
@JimmyMakingitwork thanks for sharing your knowledge!
What bracket did you use to hold column in place
I used the stock brackets on the column base and up top. Luckily the diameter is very close. I did add a section of thin rubber where it contacts also.
What length column did you buy? 30 , 32 , 33
It is a 32 seems about perfect. But I think any of those lengths would work, just set closer to the firewall a bit more requiring a longer intermediate shaft made. As long as the wheel measurement is the same for an average size person. For someone wanting the wheel closer to the seat I'd go 33" to be sure it's out of the firewall enough toward the steering box with more set back.
Hope that helps.
