Ever since I began High School, and my journey on the Flute, I listened to this piece. In fact, it's the reason why I chose the instrument. Our teachers, before we selected instruments told us to listen online to videos of the different instruments they offered. I was torn between Clarinet and Oboe when I decided to just check out the Flute. This piece was the video I had clicked on... This piece is the reason I chose flute. And tomorrow. Tomorrow, 7:00 PM Thursday, May 16th, 2024, I will perform this piece. What a journey. What a journey.
@jrwolthuis The Gordeli is truly a beautiful and criminally underrated work. Although it does have some pretty technically difficult sections, it is a very rewarding piece. The contrast between the fast paced and the slow, beautiful sections is very well written. I truly find this piece one of the highest quality in the flute repertoire. I believe wholeheartedly that I'd make for an amazing piece to play. If you need the sheet music just ask and I can send it to you
He's Georgian composer.We(georgians) had a lots of great composers,only one reasons why they are not on Bach's or Mozart's level is because we are very little nation and Russia is always trying to bellittle us more that we really are.Please listen to Viktor Dolidze,Zakaria Paliashvili and search an oper work named "Abesalom and Eteri".You're gonna get shocked.
