Nice documentary, the a4s are certainly one the best express locomotives ever built. Also 4491 was going to be preserved but unfortunately it didn't happen
So was 60024/4483 Kingfisher, 60014/2509 Silver Link, 60026/4485 Miles Beevor
14:46 thats a sight a wild DR 1202 very rare indeed.
I don't know how I missed this in the several times I watched the episode before the upload
Lol get cucked! One joy of me editing things sometimes... 🤣
How the hell did you get it
@@GNRA1GreatNorthern1470 He didnt. I filmed it 🤣
@@DDJP oh
Can I suggest you do a video about the LNWR regular and large claughtons
I will be looking in to that at some point in the future
In my opinion, the disposition of the Gresley A4s should have been 13 preserved; remainder scrapped.
You should do a episode on the gwr halls class and gwr modified halls
That is planned in the future but not sure if they'll each get their own episode or if I'll join them together
@@jameswright7284 at is good idea
I only disagree with the record being 125
It's was official record on the paper from the dynamometer car paper roll as 126.4 and that is what it is
But love the video
Glad you enjoyed the video I was also surprised that Gresley didn't accept the readings but felt it was worth mentioning.
nice video
It’s a shame that Silver Link didn’t make it into preservation. Billy Butlin wanted to buy Silver Link for his camp but the Eastern Region messed with him so he bought Duchess of Hamilton and Duchess of Sutherland instead.
Are the JT A4’s featured in this video reskinned. They look so good! Especially the LNER ones. I have the BR ones and i swear they dont look that good!
Hi yeah DDJP shot this almost exclusively with the JT A4s if I remember correctly
It’s a shame that No. 4490 Empire of India didn’t make it into preservation. They would have No. 4490 donated to India if it was selected for preservation in India.
Sooner have a duchess, ask a driver if he's smelled any stink bombs lately
