This is the first Fantano interview I’ve watched, and I’ve gotta say, he’s a great interviewer, not that that should have been a surprise. He lets his guest talk, he asks interesting questions, he pays them compliments without being overly emotional or disingenuous. It seems like a genuine conversation between two friends rather than a Q&A session like most interviews are. If only all were like this.

He’s had some fantastic interviews throughout his career. I personally loved the Danny Brown one right after Atrocity Exhibition the most off the top of my head. I think Anthony’s come up in college radio really sharpened his speaking and interview skills
I also thought this was a fantastic talk, though it sucks that I had to scroll so far down passed all the stale comments to find someone actually talking about the video.
His interview with JPEGMAFIA is pretty fun too. Dorian Electra's is interesting as well.

If I had to guess, after the Dorian interview he realized its better to sacrifice his own camera quality so the guest has a clear voice/camera rather than himself. Perhaps even the guest was the one recording the call from their POV to ensure this.
I just love how down-to-earth and easy-going Finneas is; they had a really wholesome interview where they seemed like old friends just catching up after a while!

On top of that there were several things he said that were very introspective and empathetic, this interview gave me a lot of respect for him, thanks Mellon!
