that white mk7 is 100% not APR maybe a piggy tune or Cobb but definitely not APR because it would've gapped that mk8 because that's 90hp more than the stock mk8 so yeah I call BS dudes be lying lol
Stage 2 APR is closer to 110-120hp over stock iirc. MK8 has roughly 20hp more than a mk7 bone stock. Iâd believe this is a stage 2 APR tuned car. But thereâs some other variables that caused him to not take this MK8 to gapplebees. Firstly, he started a good gear or two too high, the turbo wasnât even fully spooled. You can see as his RPMâs rise he starts to pull away. Second, he may not have done an intercooler, and if heâs already done a few pulls within the last couple minutes heâs probably already heatsoaked. Third, the mk7 is a manual, so the shifts on the MK8 DSG are going to be much faster. That aids it quite a bit. So youâre looking at a 241hp MK8 DSG, vs a 320-330hp MK7 MT. But before that turbo spools, buddy in the MK7 is probably only making 240hp.
no, theres definitely no way this is an APR stage 2, or any good tuner stage 2. A good tuned stage 2 should be around 300-330whp. Also he definitely started at an appropriate rpm, the is20 needs the lower end, above 5500 is not good for the is20. And the dsg is not really a big advantage, certainly not enough to make up for 50+whp. As to the heatsoaking, even with stock intercooler it is not this bad. I was stage 2 for quite a while in texas, and the only difference you really notice is how much harder it pulls up top, not this fast. And it was not significant enough, again, to let a mk8 be close to you.
@@brickson98mnah honesty, they dyno at around 260 whp. So a DSG mk8 vs a 300 whp stg2 mk7 makes absolute sense. The cars put the power down differently the mk8 power band is better and the gears are longer. Trust me Iâve owned both and have a mk8

The mk8 only make about 15 more whp stock than a stock mk7 so Iâm confused. That Apr should have roughly 50hp more and weigh less. Those mk8s can make way more hp on the stock turbo compared to the mk7 though but with a stock tune on the mk8 it doesnât make sense.
Stage 2 APR, they claim. So more like 90-100hp over the MK8. Iâm thinking they lied and theyâre only stage 1, or they didnât do an intercooler, so theyâre heatsoaked to high hell. Also doesnât help buddy didnât even have the turbo fully spooled when he hit it
