It’s such a great idea for a song- a girl crush because the other woman has what she wants. Clever way to phrase it which really ropes the listener in.

Lori Mckenna wrote this song. You should listen to her sometime. She has written lots of hit songs and is considered one of the best writers in the business. She wrote "Humble and kind" that Tim Mcgraw had a hit with, "Fireflies" that Faith Hill did and "Girl crush". I like her version of Fireflies better, and you could listen to "People get old" "Make every word hurt" or "The bird and the rifle" and see what you think.

I am at the 2:33 marker of this song. When I was trucking down in the USA, and this came on, it was believed to be a gay song by some states and officially banned from the airways of those states. Which I thought was unbelievable. The song is not gay, but about a woman's desire to be with another woman's man and how it must feel from the other woman's perspective. Really well written and it does put the brain into thought about the lyrics. Thanks for sharing this song... It is one of my favs from Little Big Town. Spot on, on your decipher of this song.
So, "I'll be that girl" by Barenaked Ladies is a very similar concept. Girl is love with herself, so guy wants to be that girl she's in love with.

I love this song so much. I might feel the lyrics in my core since for 5 months I had to watch a guy friend I have deep feelings for be with someone who treated him BADLY and was just using him. She ended up cheating on him and leaving him for someone else... But I felt this song the whole time they were together but I never trusted or liked her.

My celebrity crush is Charlie Hunnam (he played Jax Teller in the show Sons Of Anarchy and if you and BJ haven’t watched it put it on your list) and I absolutely have a girl crush on his longtime girlfriend Morgana.
