S/ 70 Soles. Ufffffff!!! I have family in Lima, in 2017 as I left Jorge Chavez to go to a short drive in Callao, Lima a taxi driver wanted to charge me S/ 90. jajajajaja. The face he had when I spoke to him in fluent Spanish. Traveling to Cusco/Machu Pichu this June. Thank you for the vid.
The taxi driver ripped you off. First, while in Peru only pay in soles. Second, the airport is 15 min from the city center thru side streets, so super close by. Third, always negotiate the price while standing without moving towards the car. If you agree, then and only then you can walk towards the car. They overcharged you at least 100% of normal fare.
You *can not* drive to Machu Picchu - it is about a four hour journey (bus & train) from Cusco.
You can also hike there.
