I had incisional right inguinal hernia repair 20 years ago. There were no complications but the recovery period was long. Meaning that "guarded" movement (when twisting, sitting, etc) took longer to deal with. I had Robotic Left Inguinal hernia repair 5 days ago. The recovery time alone is amazing. I have yet to feel any of the three holes used for the instruments, and the pain associated with movement is very tolerable. I was up and walking (guarded) for the first 48 hours but now I can walk and move with minimal discomfort. The difference is absolutely amazing.

Hello sir, when can we start basic exercises after laparoscopic inguinal hernia surgery mesh repair and when can we start weightlifting after the same ?

@@Amar_Indian Hello to you too sir. I would get with your PCM or Surgeon to learn as everyone is a little different. I'm still 4 weeks from returning to "normal" activities. I did ask if there were any exercises that would improve the tone/strength of the inguinal canal and was told not really and that if a person was obese there were some exercises that could help.

@@Victoria-px6nq Sorry you have had a very different response. While this one was a vast improvement, I do recognize that there are folks out there that do not have the outcome. I wish you well and hope you can find some relief.

Why is the pain from robotic assisted hernia repair so extremely sharp and severe? And why are the incisions made so far from the location of the hernia above the belly button creating a very large geographic area for post op pain?

Had robotic umbilical hernia repair. And I am in so much pain. It’s the worst. I woke up from anesthesia screaming and it’s day 2 and the wounds away from the belly (left side) are hurting bad. For some reason when I get up my shoulder is killing me and I can’t walk at all. I didn’t know they where going to use machines to sew me 😢not even hydrocodones are working

I had my surgery 4 days ago. It’s the worst pain I’ve ever had. Can hardly walk. I woke up from anesthesia screaming as well. It was awful.

In robotic inguinal hernia surgery no tackers are placed only surters will be there and will be dissolved right. Was the mesh not slip or displace ? What is probability of re occurrence in robotic vs laproscopy. Pls advise. Thanks in advance
