I’ve been saying for a while, people always say Chelsea’s £1B spend is proof that you can’t buy success, but they don’t see exactly what Chelsea have bought for all that money.
They have bought themselves the ability to be the worst run club in the Premier League and still finish top half of the table. It has eliminated risk for the club despite being absolutely clueless as to how to build a stable project.
If Palace, Brentford, Brighton, Wolves, etc had made as many shocking decisions as Chelsea had over the last 2 years they would be relegated. It’s as simple as that.

Chelsea has always been unique in this sense, this was what made Chelsea successful earlier under Abramovich. They were ruthless and never hesitated to sack a manager, and under Abramovitch, it almost always worked. I'm not sure if Boehly is trying to replicate that or if they are simply clueless in what they are doing and lacking patience. What's also troublesome with this approach is that no manager will dare to join Chelsea, because they know that unless they deliver perfection in a short time, they are done. There's no time to build something with patience, it's either instant success or your out the door. Unless it's a real OG manager like Ancelotti or Guardiola, who would take the Chelsea job? I think many managers want to join Chelsea, but they will feel the stress immidiately which can also affect how they manage the team.
As a kid I hated Chelsea. Mainly because they scared me. They were always tough to beat, they always had top players and always won the big trophies. I was jealous of them. Seeing what they’ve become is so bizarre

Chelsea finished above Man Utd while playing with 20 year olds, how can they be the worst club, they made future investments by buying Young players it's now time to find a right coach with a good plan to take Chelsea back to winning ways for years to come. The best example is Manchester city, they bought the likes of sterling, Aguero when they were young but profited years later when they got experience and got a good coach (Pep) that took city to a treble and 6 premier League titles I. 7 years
