Generally speaking, the popular production channels have great teachers but have mediocre self releases and examples. Meanwhile, the accomplished producers / musicians dont or struggle to articulate the process. Please keep doing these :)

I've noticed in a lot of knxledge beats he doesn't put a snare in and just lets the feel of the samples ride out and your brain doesn't even realize there's no snare
Knx is defo at the forefront, but it's defo a trend. It's like the 90s, but minimalistic. Lots of untampered with loops and no drums. Love it though, let the sample talk! Madlibs obv done it for a while, but I'm also thinking pretty much every roc marciano record for example, and even most recent alchemist stuff

Jon when you put in the chords, choir etc are you finding the scale and then recording them in manually from your hardware(and just editing that part out?). Or do you have a load of samples in minor key and then you pitch them so they're the right key? Would really help me get the workflow of the Octotrack better. Cheers!
