Not Australian but I loved footie from the first game I've seen while watching nfl was just boring. Even if many people don't like today's footie cause of fewer goals it's still far more entertaining and dare I say real than american football

I honestly think if there was an AFL game (premiership game or exhibition) in America a solid crowd would turn up. Could use players like Ben Simmons and celebrities like Chris Hemsworth or Margot Robbie etc to promote the game. Could also open up potentially big sponsorships and broadcast partners like ESPN. American interest in AFL is growing so I think this should be attempted even though it's a huge market. I only want AFL to be played professionally in Australia, but eventually having a decent fan base in a country like the US would be great.
Time zones and stadium use would be a hurdle but that could be overcome. I just think something like this is better than going to China.
