  • In this video, I'm building a DIY Pig shelter out of wood pallet for my new piglets which are growing pretty fast. Since we are going through some shift with the economy and we're dealing with food shortages throughout the world. I thought that it was time to start prepping for food shortages by starting to grow my own food and raising my own farm animals on the homestead. in my case, raising piglets is ideal as pigs don't require much space as cows and other bigger cattle do. These past months I have been focusing on planning for self-sustainability, to prepare for the worst-case scenario.
The biggest concern when bringing a new animal to your property is providing proper shelter for your livestock. During these inflationary times, we need to look for alternatives to save on construction materials due to high material prices. In order to save on lumber costs, building a pig shelter with pallets is the right path to take.

Definitely, the bigger pigs take about 6 months to reach over 300 lbs while the smaller Kune Kune takes about 1.5 years to get around 250 lbs.

It's part of the cycle of life. At some point, all living organisms will become nutrients for others, even when we become organic matter at death as the body decomposes in the ground to feed other organisms such as plants.
