    • @2bituser569
      @2bituser569 Před 4 lety +6

      NightRunner417 one thing I never got with SGU is why the ship planted gates without a dhd? Also why the remote dialers they carried from destiny were never found later in the Milky Way or Pegasus galaxies. Would help to dial out while on the run to the gate. The handheld dialer does plug one plothole in Sg-1 CotG’s when you clearly see the gate is deactivated behind Apophis. Later its active again. If Apophis had one of those handhelds easy fix.

    • @sam23696
      @sam23696 Před 4 lety +13

      @@2bituser569 I guess there's no canon explanation, but perhaps they wanted the Destiny gate network as a "private" network, only usable by Destiny crew members.
      Given that they are crossing countless galaxies, having them open to anyone to exploit without spending hundreds of years studying the lifeforms in that galaxy is a security risk, or unethical. The Pegasus and Milkyway networks are meant to be a kind of public transport, by comparison.
      As for Apophis, we know from later seasons they have Goa'uld that are experts in Gate technology, and they know how to exploit them. They could have made their own remote DHDs.
      Of course that establishes far more plot holes if you dare think about it. Where were the Goa'uld installed irises? I suppose they send a MALP through each time so SG1 isn't at risk, but SG1 still arrived at secret bases all the time.

      Thor trusted Jack because he personally had witnessed his worth & knew he was trust worthy, he had no other options as the other humans he knew of either he knew couldn't be trusted or he just didn't have enough experience with, after that his trust in Jack specifically was fortified when he was found to have a very high level of ancient DNA making him even closer to their old ally then they'd seen in 1000s of years.
      Later Thor showed the same trust for the rest of SG1 & Hamond, Daniel even had a nice new science ship named after him for his achievement in reaching ascension, a feat the Asgard were incapable of.

Both armies would see it as a god killing their enemies and they wouldn't know what fuel was so they wouldn't realize to hold out till fuel ran out. The most realistic scenario is the armies would freeze while getting massacred, or they would crap their pants and run or maybe just keep fighting thinking the gods were supporting them. Not that even in the modern age you hear an A-10 and almost piss yourself knowing what it is, but put it in 1066 pretty confident the battle would be over. @@rageagaintstheNWO Space is huge If the ship doesn't reflect light it's virtually invisible.
      Let's say they are a 1000 Miles up this is almost 4 times the farthest point the ISS is in the sky.

      Humans have already developed anti-radar technology and even a synthetic material that bends light to create a sort of invisibility cloak (albeit imperfect). Don't you think a race that's been around 10 times longer than humans would be capable of hiding a ship even in plain sight?

    You know O'Neil really should run for senator he doubts it but he actually makes a hell of a politician better than Kinsey there's a reason why the Asgard chose him for negotiations.
