As we all hope to see and hear, LOVEBITES' March 26th 2021 show in Tokyo was recorded, possibly for release in July as was done with "Daughters of the Dawn" and "Five of a Kind", and that show included eight (8) songs previously unavailable in LIVE versions, Today Is The Day (Electric Pentagram) A Frozen Serenade (Electric Pentagram) Set The World On Fire (Electric Pentagram) The Unbroken (Electric Pentagram) Spellbound (Golden Destination) Winds Of Transylvania (Vlad Love Soundtrack) Glory To The World (Glory, Glory, To the World) Dystopia Symphony (Glory, Glory, To the World) I have no doubt about their abilities in performing LIVE. I am 'willing to travel' to see them perform, even to another country!
That is the unique thing about them--they are taking a genre that has been mostly about doom and gloom, and making it all about hope. There is really no other band doing this. And yes, their concerts are almost two hours at that pace. And yes, in their live clips, they are always in perfect synch. It's spooky.
In addition to their musical inspiration, this is another element that they take from Helloween! Helloween's songs tend toward being very positive and hopeful, triumph of good over evil, that sort of thing. They kind of introduced the idea of "happy metal." Freedom Call (which are peripherally part of the Helloween family, as Helloween's guitarist Sasha Gerstner came from Freedom Call) are also doing it. Lovebites are definitely carrying that banner into the future, though, doing so more epically than their predecessors!

Actually that attitude of positivity and hopefulness is one of the general things in power metal bands. What sets Lovebites apart is first, better songwriting (hooks!), and second, they routinely bring in elements of other metal genres like thrash and progressive, producing their own unique sound.

"Glory To The World" came out in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic. Fans and band were paralyzed and mentally challenged by this depression, so they wrote an uplifting song with a positive message. It was also inspired by Midori's visit to the US, where she had experienced church music. Yes, there's also a live version of this, and unsurprisingly, they are able to perform it live at that pace!

Expect a lot from this band in 2023 and 2024. Starting with two new Singles with new bassist Fami, all of them further improved their skills (unbelievable, but true!), new album "Judgement Day" at February 22nd (probably Metal album of the year), new live concerts in March, filmed for 2CD/DVD/Blu-ray on "Knockin' At Heaven's Gate" (August 23rd), Japan tour in September, Miyako's EP of 6 piano covers of Metal songs ("Etude Op.23") and her concerts in November, upcoming international concerts (not yet confirmed) and maybe festivals in 2024. After this, there's more to come considering all this talent!

Another band with dueling leads like this is Nemophila. They don't really go as long as Lovebites into the solos but they are there and they normally do the one solo into the other than harmonize that Lovebites does. I would recommend starting with Oiran since that is about the average heaviness that the band does.
If you want some classic metal with similar dual guitar work (though not as fast), check out Iron Maiden and Helloween (which coincidentally are bands Lovebites list as great influences).
Love me some Lovebites. Nice and appropriate reaction. Other produced videos you should check out are Shadowmaker and Winds of Transylvania. Going back to Live music check out Break the Wall and Raise Some Hell. You can imagine what these ladies doing a song called raise some hell would be like, can't you?
Try songs : Inspire, Empty Daydream, both are great. Burden of time, and Scream for me; both live in studio. Edge of the world, an incredible journey. Frozen Seranade, no music video, but incredible song, Miyako on piano, Midori on flamenco style guitar, just incredible.
If they play the song live they are in sync, I haven't heard a single song with a unison line by them that has been out of sync live. They are incredible.
Talking about all female metal bands you could check out the Swiss Burning Witches and their official video "Hexenhammer" or "The Witch of the North" They are wonderful
Well if this impressed you try Edge of the World LIVE (czcams.com/video/FGRxXCDtRFA/video.html), piano intro, weeping guitar, Asami's bluesy vocals and then some of the most amazing transitions you will ever hear, it has everything that make these insanely talented women one of the best LIVE band playing today (forget the genre, ANY BAND). Loved your reaction and yes you have to adjust your brain when you experience LOVEBITES, I compare these women to riding in a Lamborghini at top speed on the open road, total exhilaration. BTW Haruna/drums at 4' 9" is a total beast (She NEVER EVER heard the words growing up..STOP or SLOW DOWN) and if she drives the way she plays those drums no one is safe on the road.
You need to check out Edge Of The World live from 2020. It starts slow and builds from ballad to rock to heavy metal. It is epic and gives you a better glimpse of their talent. And I hope you keep your enthusiasm for music, it is why I like watching your reactions.
I think the man in the video is portraying a modern day christ with blood on his forehead from the crown of thorns or some sort of stigmata i'm not too sure
Definitely 0-100 in this one. While this is good, every live track they have is better than every MV they have, excluding Bloodstock tracks(bad mixing) .
