How good is Weaver for solo play really?

  • Good enough to defeat Balthazar in 57 seconds using only green gear with nothing included in the build worth more than 10 silver! Despite the trash gear, this build has a great balance of offense and defense.
    Build details:
    Fire: 1-1-2
    Arcane: 3-3-1
    Weaver: 3-1-3
I used a mix of rabid and dire stats, Balthazar runes, generosity, agony, and corruption sigils, and Echovald resin for the gem sockets. As cheap as it gets, but still quite powerful!

Skilled weaver game-play truly looks like dancing elegantly.

Amazing. Even your toon agreed when it said "that how amazing I am".

Even though weaver is supposedly not for the faint of heart and weak of skill, I find the idea of this kind of build very neat. I have something similar assembled (half trailblazer, half celestial, what i had on hand, with the rune of undeath and arcane traits), I'm going to attempt IBS story on it.

    Nice build!!
May I ask what would you recommend between Cele and Trail, I don't think I have enough time to get both.

They're both great options. I usually run Trailblazer with fire/earth and undead rune. It deals about 10% more damage than the celestial fire/arcane build with aristocracy rune. It also has very strong passive sustain (3.5k armor), but less healing, boons, and barrier. So, I'd probably give the celestial build a slight edge defensively. The celestial option also has better synergy with Invigorating Strikes, providing about 50% more barrier on dodge. So, if you need more defense you can take that trait, swap in a Sigil of Energy, and dramatically improve your sustain at the cost of some damage output.

Was this the first try? For me if i don't know the pattern of the boss i go down state a lot i mean only one hit is enough to take me out XD

Of course I'm quite familiar with this boss. The clip was intended to demonstrate the strength of the build independent of gear quality, which is a common misconception for players coming from other games where ilvl is everything. One part of that is the stat selection, which in this case is a mix of rabid/dire gear, granting a significant increase to health and armor. So if you were comparing this build to a build with higher quality purely offensive gear (e.g. berserker, viper) you would find that you can take a lot more punishment.

how does your weaver build perform against bandit champions like ezal, aerl, varre etc.

Sorry for the late reply. Missed this comment. It handles bandit champions very well. The only thing I'd say you really have to watch for are the bosses that throw the fire circles.
This is a particular issue for any melee build as they throw them centered on your position. I usually CC the breakbar, burst, then back off to draw the torch throw before reengaging.

what is the difference whit scepter / focus weaver ? :)

Scepter has a less complex damage rotation and ranged capability. However, it loses the extra evades from sword and it's less bursty than sword. If you can make effective use of evades at melee range, sword is probably going to be the stronger build for solo play.
