Mukesh Dhangar, Congress' Mathura candidate for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections is conducting the last leg of his election campaign barefoot in a bid to highlight the absence of vikas (development) in the constituency, which has been under the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for the last decade. Dhangar alleged that Hema Malini, the BJP's sitting MP from Mathura who is seeking a third term, is an "outsider" who has not worked for Mathura's development and said that polarisation politics will be rejected. The Wire's Sravasti Dasgupta caught up with Dhangar on the campaign trail.
