I am an arrogant, obnoxious meat eater who always has something to say about vegetarians; however when you mentioned adding bacon to this even though you're a strict vegetarian my heart melted like the delicious cheese in this sandwich. That very simple comment taught me a lot about myself and I have to say you are an awesome guy and I bloody love your videos!

I tried it this morning and I changed your recipe just a little. Instead of american cheese, I used salty panir, which is kind of middle eastern cheese. I also added some green hot pepper and garlic. It was delicious. You might wanna check this out.

i just wanted to post on this and say that i have been making this for years and that I have never met anyone else who has done this and it is simply amazing.
Never thought of something like that. I'm definitely going to try this one. And yes mine will have bacon. I'll use brown bread though. Don't have any sourdough. I don't know if you use margarine at all, but that's what I'm using. Thank you for sharing, this sounds great.

Use freshly shredded cheese in grill cheese sandwiches. Melts faster and more evenly.... not to mention tastes creamier in the end result

I tried this and it really is killer!
But I had a little twist!
Instead of sourdough and American cheese, I used a jalapeno and cheese bread and I used mozzarella cheese.
It works wonderfully!!

I don't do pork but I cut turk.bacon in half fry in olive oil til crispy,its really close tasting to real bacon!

I respect you for resisting to add salt, eat meat and all that kind of stuff, because I can never force myself to do it. I know eating meat is bad, and adding tons of salt is not good for you, but i just love food that much. I'm gonna try making this with bacon as well. Looks great!
