- This video shows the removal process for the screenwash filler pipe from the Peugeot 206. This removal makes the changing of headlights vastly easier.

actiongirl5 asked me a question in response to the above video, about how exactly I was removing the screenwash filler pipe, and I realised this may be better answered with a video itself!
Basically, I use my index finger to lift the very end of the peg that holds the filler pipe in-place, I can then pull the whole pipe out of the way.
For clarity... the "peg" on the end of the filler pipe has a square section down the middle which MUST be aligned with the gap in the lip of the pipe it is being inserted into. There is then a clip mechanism, on either side of this square section, which is what the video aims to help you lift up and over the lip of the screenwash tank inlet.
I'm not sure if I'm clear, or just confusing, in this video (it's a very tight space, so difficult to clearly demonstrate!). Would be good to hear if this helps!
Brilliant. It's exactly that level of detail I needed to understand what was going on and get the confounded thing off without breaking it. You're spot on about it not being the most well designed mechanisms.
Glad to hear it was so helpful Greg. Thanks for letting me know.
Unbelievably useful. It's one thing when you know how it works but intimidating when you're doing it by feel and aren't sure if you're going to snap something. Thanks so much!
It's a pleasure Sue. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. You're right... once you're used to it, it's easy to do with confidence.
I bought 2003 206xt without the pipe.. Trying to secure a pipe so that I can fill the windscreen cleaner tank..
This video helps understand my car problem.
Glad it helped you mieaab! If you're literally missing the pipe part, I'm sure you'd get a cheap one from a scrap yard. Easier than trying to fabricate one yourself.
Great video made it easy, obviously produced by a very competent engineer - thanks
Your video is still proving useful, thanks.
Excellent Overkill .... Very Thorough.... To be Encouraged!!!!
Glad to hear it was useful! A video based on several previous comments... overkill indeed :)
brilliant - just about to change headlight bulb. this video made it so much easier
Glad I found this video. Very useful to know that the pipe can be removed.
I was going to replace the bottle of my Peugeot 407 but after watching your excellent video I think the the pipe needs to be changed. Its the cover that's been damaged by some garage. Many thanks for your help.
No problem at all. Glad the video helped.
Great video and Brilliantly explained many thanks for taking the time to make it and upload it.
Great video -just to point out the obvious, there should be a rubber o ring in that groove on the filler neck?stops water leaking out as tank filled up to top of neck .Theyre often missing.
Didn't realise it came off.
Spent an hour one evening checking the car for a long trip. Fluids, tyre pressures, check wiper blades, washer reservoir. etc,
Went to leave early next day to find I had a coolant leak.
Realise know that it was from the reservoir neck, .
I'd topped it right up to the top.
And as yours, there was no seal on the bottom end.
Just an "o" ring I'd surmise, when fitting use silicone grease NOT washing up liquid as a lubricant and again when you refit it.
Thanks for the tip.
John
No problem John, glad it came in handy!
Thanks for sharing ! Very useful and clear!!
I've had the plastic part that connects to the pivot point snap by a mechanic that obviously missed your video, so the pipe sits very loosely and when I pour the windshield liquid the liquid will start to pour out at the spot where the pipe connects to the rest of the system, not at the top of the pipe (where you put the cap). Is there a way to avoid this or does this happen to everyone?
I'm going to try this at some point this week. Thanks!
thanks
Lol wish i found this video before i changed my bulbs but very handy to know thanks.
Well, thanks. But I'm looking for the video showing changing washer reservoir on Peugeot 206... Can't find it :(
Thank you, very helpful indeed. I will tackle this with confidence now... Cheers!

Hey, man! I've got Peugeot 206 few weeks ago, and I had to change the headlight bulb. I spent literally a day looking for the instruction how to remove the screenwash filler pipe. You've made my day! Thanks a lot!
thanks. Helped a lot.
Thank you so much.
Very helpfull mate thanks
Very clear thank you
No problem Malcolm, glad to hear it helped.
Can someone share a link to buy the pipe online? Thx.
Given the age of the car, I would suggest calling local scrap yards. They're often overlooked, but can be a really cheap source of components.
thankyou.
You have really strong fingers or maybe the material of that peg in your car is not so hard!!😥
It's a hard material, but yes I seem to remember it became easier as I learnt the best tactic. So much easier to work on the car once removed definitely!
