11:26 can someone please explain how he does this? he pearls straight through the crystal and I've seen other people do this but I don't understand. I went into a single player world and turned on hitboxes and there's no possible way a pearl can fit through there (if a pearl hits crystal it explodes)

You have to pearl inside the crystal. Minecraft has this really weird mechanic where projectiles that are fired inside another hitbox are ignored. This is why you see speedrunners hugging skeletons cause when the skeleton fires the projectile is already inside of the player therefore missing them.
