Hey Kev, kudos for all the hard work you put into these videos, your interactive dashboard video has helped me greatly in the past with school, you are a lifesaver, I can’t thank you enough. 🙏🏻 🙏🏻 🙏🏻

Making it a table and sorting the columns are completely pointless steps, they do nothing to help a vlookup work, you just need to fill in the fourth criteria with a zero to say exact match only. So instead of finishing with column 2 it should finish with: 2,0)
@@d4ve19 Would you mind going through the steps of this a bit further? Where do we fill in the fourth criteria with a zero? Where do we write exact match only? Thanks in advance if you happen to take the time!
I have a question I am starting college and need a laptop what would u recommend? They said i7 10th gen and 8-16gig ram but I don’t wanna get ripped off in Amazon or something
How does sorting prevent this? If you sort Adam then Adams and then search for Adams, will Adam not be returned as a close match that is listed first? I have never used vlookup without using the final parameter and always use a zero for exact match, using a close match feels wrong and ambiguous.

Why on earth waste time on sorting, when you just add FALSE as the 4th parameter to ensures an exact match??? 🤔
It's barely a few seconds
Table step is unnecessary, also XLookup is so much faster and easier.
Please tell me about it and the differences between XLookup and VLookup

Amazing, great job!
What are the advantages of vlookup compared to xlookup?
Thank you for your videos!
Less parameters that's it
It’s also available in all versions.
Index and match is my go to if the lookup value is not left

@@KevinStratvert xlookup() is only missing in outdated versions in the meanwhile.
Is learning Excel good for BTech student, for their placement?
Thank you so much for this

What if you had more and one fortune on you table, how do we go about that??
I do it daily bro and can even park multiple vlookups in a single sheet.
Mint. Thanks bro.
This is a good future thx, a lot of people say it’s important, anyway it’s easy
XLookup, come on Kev.
👍👌✌️💯💯
Where can you that wallpaper on the computer screen behind you?
Is it okay not to make a table as long as it is sorted?

Ok but how we can do it without changing the tavle columns
Xlookup. With vlookup, the lookup value needs to be in the left most column. With Xlookup, the lookup value can be in any column.

Just get a window hp or dell computer. Make sure it’s not a Chromebook.
@@missdesireindependance5194ok I have been using a old dell but it’s no where near as good so I will look for that
Why did you sort the values?
If you use a closest match, it may find a match before you expect it to.

Never use vlookup always use Xlookup
if its vertical use vlookup. Makes no difference.
basic stuff
Excel is awful. Just use an effing DB.
This is exactly where my confusion comes in. Why not just use a DB? I swear I can do the same functions in any DB by just searching/filtering.
Anyone from 2024
Vlook up sucks….
