Great Guide. Might want to update the description to the latest wiki, it took me a minute to find the right scripts to run on the Ender 3 V3 KE. But overall it worked flawlessly. Unfortunately I can't use my spare Elgato FaceCam because it requires USB 3.0 to run. Oh well, looks like I'll be getting a different camera. A note for those of you that do this and find that your print head isn't laying down filament directly on the bed but just creates a jumbled mess, check your Z offset. Running the printers self calibration doesn't seem to solve the offset issue since Mainsail and the device itself will have conflicting values. So, if your printer shows an offset of -2.25 but the print head is too high off the bed and you adjust it in Mainsail it will ADD whatever value you input to what is on the printer. For example, the printer shows -2.25 and you adjust it in Mainsail -2.25 the Z offset will now be -5.00, which may cause the nozzle to crash into the build plate. I found that it's best to adjust the offset on the PRINTER ONLY, and you will see a value change in Mainsail. Once you get the offset where you want it, click the save button in Mainsail and you're good to go. It will reboot Klipper and your combined values will be accurate and you shouldn't have any issues. Hope this helps.
@@TH3DStudio I almost did that but then I started digging into what was wrong. The Z axis offset was not calibrating correctly so I messed with it a little bit and got it dialed in. She's printing like a champ now. This is my first 3d printer and my first experience with any of this, so there's a bit of a learning curve, but your guide is top notch! Thanks a ton!

This is a really great guide! You just need to add one thing - instructions for changing the root password. You already had them SSH and login as root, just add a "passwd root" command to your instructions so they don't leave the default password there indefinitely.
Ok, I'm new to 3d printing and using the slicing software. I've been using the ender 3 v3 ke since December. I'm also using Creality Print and the cloud app to monitor remotely with the nebula camera. I also have Cura, but it does not have a profile for the ke. What are the benefits of rooting my printer. Can you please explain to me what the differences would be. And how much better my printer will work.

Is there any place where I can help with improving/contributing/reporting bugs with the script? 2. I seem to be unable to compile firmware for secondary mcu (eg: pico) probably because of missing sources/compiler on the klipper on the e3ke. But maybe, I could do that on another computer instead of this. Would that work? 3. I've been using zerotier to connect to my other rpi/klipper printer(s) and it's very helpful. opkg provides zerotier package but there is no tun/tap kernel module on the linux running on e3ke. If there's a way to fix that, it'd be great. Thanks again for the work on this script!

This was the closest information I found to rooting the CR10 SE. Unfortunately now I can not use the adxl for input shaping. I get this error when trying to run resonance calibration - {"code":"key119", "msg": "Invalid adxl345 id (got ff vs e5).This is generally indicative of connection problems(e.g. faulty wiring) or a faulty adxl345 chip.", "values": ["ff", "e5"]}
I noticed that my Ender 3 v3 SE prints are slant. I checked the printer's alignment and noticed that the z axis is not square (it is tilted backwards). I found a y-axis support kit to install on Aliexpress. There are also some options on thingverse. I'm still deciding which option I'm going to test. Any thoughts?
I previously tried to root, got everything installed but kept getting errors on the printer. Ended up restoring back to factory settings and i have had any issues. Not sure what i did wrong. I tried twice but couldn't keep prints going. Kept going to error

I have diff menus also, i did go by verbal names, but there is no "supervisor lite". I get the mailsale interface on port 4409 but it does not load a web page just entering the IP address.
Good morning. I have an ender 3 v3 KE running installed Klipper What i don't understand is this. At the start of a print the bed sets to 60c and remains constant the head starts at 180c when it reaches set temperature remains a while then resets to 200c when it reaches set temperatures it resets to 140c then starts bed levelling cycle during which temperature drops to approx 109c then has to wait for temperature to reach 220c is this correct has it wastes time before starting. I have not because I use local IP access over my VPN. You could setup a VPN endpoint or other box on your network to facilitate a VPN into your network in general.
Handy Guide. Would you happen to know if a secondary mcu like an rpi pico can be connected. I'm hoping to have chamber heating control via the pico. Any thoughts whether it might work?
Hiya! Would the helper scripts work on the Ender 3v3 CoreXZ? Didn't want to risk it if it's different enough to mess it up. I can activate the webcam etc but wasn't sure whether to try installing things on a different printer!

That's a great guide, but unfortunately, it seems like the webcam shenanigan doesn't work now. Even if i manage to to install the script using nano, it just won't work on machine start
Still running it on ours with no issue. Maybe your camera is not working or its not supported by the linux OS on the machine. Our EZCams work on there.

@@TH3DStudio I managed to do it second time around, but then connection was lost between Creality Print 5.0 and the printer. It seems it needs this default web interface on port 80 in order to connect to printer.
@@TH3DStudio so if you go in to customize menu and remove it does not auto change over anymore. to port 80 it still trys to load the creality one if you go to direct IP with out the mainsail port. whats the extra step to get that updated

Are there any downsides to this? Like do all of the KE's features work when you install klipper? (if there's a plugin that gives the same functionality, I'd count it as still having the feature). I just bought the KE as my first printer, and want to add klipper and a webcam, but I also don't want to lose any functionality.
@@TH3DStudio Except for people who want to monitor their prints outside of their LAN. Means you need to setup a VPN in your LAN or at least Port Forwarding into Mainsail.
Great tutorial, but what I care most about is extruder calibration, do these mods allow me to change and adjust the Esteps/mm E parameter? I found guide how I can fix it by easy steps but in 3 v3 ke I cannot change anything now. I'm a beginner in 3D printing so I'm a little afraid of doing something wrong :D
Heya my dude! Is there an updated way to get kamp and screws tilt adjust? The menu has changed. I updated to 13 and then went back to reinstall but the k1 helper menu has changed and kamp and screws tilt adjust are gone. Please help 🙏

@@TH3DStudio I removed Creality Print and now use Orcaslicer, which supports upload directly from UI with Mainsail and Creality UI removed, just in case anyone still want this comfort feature. Thanks for the your tutorial!
Anyone intalled Guppy Screen using the menu in this video ? I see in foruns people using the Guppy Screen ( only works in landscape mode) but don,t now if we can just select that option on the menu.
@@TH3DStudio meanwhile i instaled everything ( great tutorial btw, congrats) and tested the Guppy Screen instalation and it worked, it just gives an error that we have to install "klipper gcode shell command" first. IT is in the landscape mode but it is miles away better then the creality UI. Have to print the suport for the landscape mode and it will be perfect. I don,t remember where i saw that someone else instaled ( i think it is in the github of the helper script) Until now i just tested the axis and the bed calibration ( with just the screen) and all worked fine . I read that are some functions doesnt work and we have to modify some files to fix it. Btw i also installed octoeverywhere ( for remote acess) with your method and everything installed without problem. Don,t had any luck with an usb cam that i have but i guess i will have to buy a diferent one.
@@TH3DStudio I got passed that and got it installed. worked for a week and then the everything crashed on my printer. I got it un bricked and reloaded everything per your video. I can get everything done except the (chmod +x /etc/init.d/S99mjpg_streamer) command. it tells me there is no file found. Man I have tried 4 more times. wiping my printer and starting fresh and everything. Not sure what I am doing wrong.
It uses it to remap port assignments for when you want to re-route the new UI to port 80 instead of Creality UI. They have all the source code available so you can look through it to see what its doing.
For some reason nano wont run with the command /etc/init.d/S99mjpg_streamer. If i input opkg install nano it says that nano is installed in root and is up to date, but if i run /etc/init.d/S99mjpg_streamer it replys -sh: /etc/init.d/mjpg_streamer: not found . Any thoughts?

the install menu has changed because When installing Moonraker and Nginx, Supervisor Lite is also installed

There are options to remove the customizations in the script. You can also factory reset the printer and it will clear out any changes.

FYI, 07/26/2024, the 'remove creality web interface' option is now under '3) customize' menu, not '2) remove'
Note: opkg install nano doesnt work for me until i reconnect using putty (also reinstall Entware)

Guppy screen changes it. I use that on my K1. Not sure if its supported on the V3 KE yet though.

You can't use new firmware updates but you can go back to defaults.
Your menus are different than mine. I don't have the supervisor thing and my #4 is Entware.
There maybe was an update since making the video. Just go by the NAME of the menu options then.

You could just setup Port Forwarding into Mainsail and access it over the internet just make sure you enable logins and dont use defaults.

If it can be connected into klipper you should be able to. Just update the printer.cfg with the new mcu info

Removal of Creality Web Interface works, but it does not redirect to new interface unless I specify port 4409...
There is another step to update it to the port 80 instead of 4409.

The creality UI will not work with a 3rd party Camera due to the limitations creality put on it

How can I get the ender ke config from Creality Print to Orca. My orca prints are taking 4 hrs where the same print is 1.5 hrs.

Haven't messed with the Kamp setting or screw one. I'd try installing it and seeing it it works but I don't think it's needed on this machine.
For some reason the opkg install nano doesn't work for me, it just says -sh: opkg: not found. No idea what to do with that...

Force a refresh in the browser. It can get stuck after mainsail is loaded

Creality print doesn't work after the mods. You'd use the new web UI to upload the gcode file

Doesn't work on the KE right now. Only the K1 series.

Can use a generic USB web cam?
Depends on the cam. Only way to know is plug it in and find out.
does this automatically format the printer.cfg file?
It uses the stock one.
