We are BBC Stories, a group of journalists making films, long and short, with the younger audience (18-24) in mind. The idea is to tackle issues which concern and impact this group of people. So think about anything from race and identity to mental health, money and much more.

I'm sad about these comments, I really am. The fact that people actually think these people are influenced by demons just shows that they just don't get it. Some people are born gay, they didn't choose that. Who are we to judge about them? They have it bad enough in general, but especially in Islamic countries and with their families so why do people still continue to bully them for something they didn't choose? It is a big sin in many religions, but that doesn't justify not respecting LGBT people, being mean and hating them. I don't think God wants you to insult or judge other people. In the end, he will decide, not you. Who are you to tell these people if they are religious or not? You don't know the relationship between them and God. Start looking at yourself before judging others. Everyone makes mistakes, anyone sins. No one is innocent, don't act like you are. I am a bisexual muslim and I am definitely not going to let people decide whether I should call myself a Muslim or not. They aren't in a position to judge me and my faith in God. I find it important to be respectful towards each other and if you state your opinion think about how it can affect other people. As long as you're not being hateful, you're obviously free to disagree. All I want it for people to respect each other even if they don't understand it. As long as they are not causing any harm, they should express themselves. So what, not everyone is straight and there are Muslims, Christians, jews etc that aren't cis or straight. Get over it, you can't pray it away.
To any religious LGBT people that are reading this...I can understand that you might feel ashamed and sad because of people who are so judgmental and tell you what to do with your faith. No one but you can decide that. Not everyone on this world is going to like you and that's okay. Don't try to change for other people, only yourself. You can't be erased, you are capable of being loved and there are people who accept you! I support you. You're not a bad person for simply loving the same sex. Keep being you and stay strong 💞 It's hard, I know but please don't give up.

Deeren your either a Muslim or your either gay . As a Muslim I personally don’t have anything against gays like you can do what you want it’s your life . But I advice you if you can’t control your hormones to the extent that you want to be gay ... you gotta remember God created male and female for each other . Not male and male or female or female . Ask God for help as only God truly can help you . If you sin sin in private and ask for forgiveness. May Allah guide you to the straight path and help you . Ameen

It’s a deception to think God approves of that unnatural or alternative lifestyle but hey seems like people cannot be bothered to read scriptures ... Leviticus 18:22 NLT
Using this verse because after all this is about church so let’s use scripture ... last thing I need is an emotional response with no scripture

Because this comment section is mostly filed with judgmental, opinion based, or inaccurate comments, I would like to offer anyone looking to learn some places to look to find that homosexuality can lead to a fruitful life even in matters of faith.
First off, the DSM5, the manual used by psych professionals, does not consider homosexuality to be a mental illness and has not for decades. Different sexualities is a naturally occurring thing that is normally found in many sexually active species. It has been experienced throughout recorded history for example in the Epic of Gilgamesh, ancient Greek culture, and can be noted in cultures from around the world such as Native American, Japanese, Middle Eastern, European, etc.
In matters of faith, some Christian based beliefs say that Jesus fulfilled the old laws, some think that Leviticus was specifically meant for a particular people, and other theologians think the Bible was mistranslated and misinterpreted to be against homosexuality as seen here : wouldjesusdiscriminate.org .
