If I had been God with my staff and my rod
If I had been given the nod

Let's applaud Roger for being brave enough, to risk his entire career, to say things other people are afraid to say.
I'm sure he has enough money to live off...But I agree....!
100%
Absolutely soysauefool I concur
@@MacTheRipper1 we are not talking about money, this is Rodger pride.
You have to be brave to be pro-palestianian ? lol wake up kid, you're completly stone
Roger Waters, in addition to being an extraordinary musician, is an extremely politicized person and defender of the underprivileged. A fantastic guy.
Sir Roger Waters Is Not Just A World Renowned Musician.
Roger Waters Is A Man Who Stands Firm On The Path Of Basic Human Rights.
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Sir Roger Waters I have been wronged half of my life. When it comes to the underprivileged, I have enough scars
The sun goes down and im still missing you.
chills everytime
❤
I always thought that was a throw back to "wish you were here" in that parties are still divided as ever.
Only one man in the world who could right lyrics like that, Roger Waters forever 🤘🏻👊🏼
AMEN
Best songwriter ever! He understands!
Alkohol is like hell@@kenmcwillis1516
I just realised what made pink floyd great . Imagine this song with a gilmour solo and richard providing the soul and the atmosphere on the keyboards. This very song would have then become floyd gold.
Those jerks dont belong there
Sadly Mr Waters is far too arrogant & conceited to entertain any of his old band members, genius as he is.
Polly's Gilmour wouldn't be allowed to do this one
This guy made all the songs we all wish had been made!!!!
This version is amazing. Roger's voice and expressions along with the crowd and visuals make for an emotionally engaging performance. So good.
Mi piace di più questa versione live che quella che cè sul disco😊
I was there in 2018 i was 9 heats old, i was standing next to the podium, after the concert Roger comed of
Is This The Life We Really Want is an album that never ceases to amaze me. It really is a masterpiece, both lyrically and musically. I think in 50 year it will be considered as great as any othrr Floyd classic album. Roger is a legend.
Totally agree! 😁
Thank you for being here man.The future of our human family doesn't look very groovy to me right now especially. I think your aware of the Cancer. All that's going on in my head is a Hope of A Molten Gold campaign, And BlackJack refuses his bridal..Thanks for all you do Amigo.

The greatest lyricist to ever put pen to paper , thank you Roger Waters for the countless memories .
This entire show was a protest and resistance. The videos we see in the background of the Roger and his band are raw and real videos. The drone strike on the very first vehicle seems like I am watching a video game. But that is not a video game. It is a real footage.
The video shows of trash getting disposed of ,this is reality it’s no different to hitler monstrosity acts children in school should learn about modern history.
Can't get enough of this song. RW has proved he's by far the most talented of them all. Haunting lyrics.
The legend lives on

It's 4:04 AM in Brazil. I guess I have the lead.

Beautiful man, greatest lyricist of all time. He understands!

An enigma to me ... why hasn't this amazing performance hit tens of millions ...
If I were a drone patrolling our skies I would wipe the tears from your loved ones eyes within the blink of your eye. Don't be afraid to fly. None of us want to die.
The first time I heard this I thought... meh. But now I listen to it about 10 times a day because it's the best song ever written. It just took me a while to realise. Sorry, Roger.
Same here!

the secret of the best music and pink floyd and roger waters is that you need listening several times to realize that you love it.
It's like a puzzle you can't work out, then click It all makes Perfect Sense
Found out about Roger Waters just latley... Because my dad listens to Pink Floyd. I'm really blown away. Can't wait to check out more of Roger Waters and Pink Floyd!
Probably my favorite version of this song, it just feels a bit more complete then the already amazing one back in the original album.
Saw this live in Lisbon, Portugal and it was definetly the most emotional moment of the entire concert. This and "Us and Them". Thank you Roger for so many years of amazing lyrics and emotions.

Love You Mr Waters. Peace and Love Roger.
Hey Roger, happy that you are the God of rock music.
Have no false Gods before me
We need roger to release the wall footage from the original wall tour!!! Cmon roger a lot of your younger fans would love to see what all the old folks experienced!
The point of life is to create; to create a song, to create art, to create a child, to create a better future. The ones known to history are the ones who created something great, never underestimate your own ability to make something. Everyone on earth is an artist in their own way. Love yourself as you would love others, because we are all human.
I would totally not mind if this song went on for an hour :D
Hello Bianca. How are you doing today? Nice meeting you here!
I’m very pleased
Meravigliosa. Grande uomo e grande artista...grazie x sempre Roger Waters!!! ❤
One of the the most talented musicians in the universe! Your music activism will remain as a pathway, a guideline for the generations to walk through and know the other side of things that are constructed and shaped by logo-centric modern knowledge and power and many more.
Probably, the best Waters' album and the best of solo Floyds' discography
In high contention with Amused to Death but they’re both great albums
I do not cease to be surprised by his talent of the singer and composer!

In 500 years , if there's still human around , they will know who the Roger waters was and what he was talking about .
And maybe they'll laught of the present RW haters who hate him without knowing why, and with those who are always comparing him with Gilmour, when we can have both.
Waters is definitely a classic of world rock. Roger, live long! I was especially pleased with the presence and the number of young people who will extend the life of our favorite music. 💙💛✌
Just wow!!!!
Roger... Carisma... Bravura... Sensualita... 😊🤗😍😘🎶🎸🎶💘❤️💋💯💯💯🌅

Эта музыка для души!Попадает туда и остаётся с тобой на всю жизнь! Спасибо Роджер за то что вы есть ,даёте своим творчеством счастье прикоснуться к прекрасному.Долгих лет в жизни и созидании.
Feels like this song is more relevant then ever during current affairs..
This voice and this music will be heard by all generations that pass through this land.
Good to see some younger people who give a damn and listen to meaningful relevant music.
I so wish I could have seen a full concert for "Amused to Death" and "Is this the life we really want?". A good substitute is getting them provided one by one in this fashion. I love the work with PF, but I love the solo work JUST as much.
Yeah me too, I wish Rog played his solo stuff more often
I am with you 100 percent. I want all solo stuff. I saw all the tours and only Amused to Death in its' entirety is missing.
I want Amused so bad.
@@curtis3987 yeah, amused to death is actually my favorite album ever
That's the only thing that kinda pissed me off when I saw Rog at Manchester Arena. He played nothing from Amused to Death. Nothing. Oh, we got a crap version of Great Gig in the Sky (which wasn't even written by Rog) as a tribute to RW. I get that, but it wasn't very good. I'm sure he could have slipped in Perfect Sense or The Bravery of Being Out of Range, or It's a Miracle or even the title track.
@@jonnydavies6968 I agree. I was so disappointed. I thought for sure Perfect Sense or Bravery. This next tour, if we have it, better have a few.
I love you Roger...
Everbody do not understant to you... I dont know english so much. But I am feeling you. You are promise for the humanity from the god.
I wish to see you, to speak you before to died...

My pal Roger, just remind you. You are, maybe, the greatest musician in the universe, let us keep it like that. The new generation don't understand....and it's all right.
Our 8 month old daughter stops and starts to listen everytime we play this song. No matter what she is doing - every time. Good song to play also in the car if she's tired but can't fall to sleep. Used to play the album quite a lot when my wife was expecting so I guess that plays a part in this, but this is the only song that has this effect. No wonder, one of the best songs in the world. Thank you Roger from our family!
TOTALLY true...they remember SOUNDS from the womb...
My favorite on his solo album, just perfect
You're "Pink Floyd", Roger Waters. Love you my friend.
Conciertos de Roger waters
el no es pink floyd, era un miembro fundamental pero el no era pink floyd
He is not Pink Floyd. Such a stupid statement. Pink Floyd is Syd Barrett, Roger Waters, David Gilmour, Richard Wright, and Nick Mason. One man cannot make up a whole band.
Yessss❤❤❤❤
Roger Waters fantástico.
Love the audience reactions to this, and also to the whole show.
This is such a great song, Roger did an amazing job with his latest album.🙏🏻🎧
I’m 60. Roger you have been gracing my ears since I was a teenager. Decades of musical pleasure, and especially food for thought.
Somethings can't be erased. I bought Dark Side a few days after it hit the record stores. Regardless of authority, my life's up, downs and occasionally tragedy It can't be erased or diminished. In 75' my mum once said 'that dumb album is you, you are that album, and it will be forgotten in a few years and you along with it, how does that make you feel'. I said something I shouldn't have and she grabbed and broke my record. 40 years later she gifted me an 73' original pressing on my Bday
I was very fortunate to be able to see his Us and Them tour live, once in Brooklyn on Sep 11 and for a second time in Stockholm. Changed my life.
You can’t possibly understand how jealous I am right now. Roger Waters has always ment to me not only a life changing part of my life but also a message of hope. I was supposed to see him this July for the first time for his This Is Not A Drill Tour, but Covid hates me.
If you ever see that crying girl, tell her that she's beautiful!!!
A REAL MAN WHO THROUGH HIS ART HAS MANY MESSAGES TO MAKE ON HUMAN RIGHTS AND ON OPPRESSED PEOPLES IN THE WORLD. REALLY A MAN TO RESPECT TO YOU MISTER ROGER.
i don't know why i cry every time i listen to you Mr. Roger
Brings tears to my eyes everytime I here this beautiful song. Keep it rocking Rodger.
Legend with a heart.
More musicians should transcend their musical and lyrical creativity and actually stand for “something” of moral substance (instead of just collecting their bloated cheques)

BTW Roger, for we U.S. Marines, that you occasionally sing about, it is not always “… Being Out of Range”. Many times it is brutal, horrifically stressful, up close and personal, peak adrenaline, Close Quarters Combat, hand-to-hand combat with the enemy. Yes sir. Just an FYI. We still love ya bro. Carry on …
Brilliant, touches my heart, mind and soul, you have a voice of silk and angels as well. TY.
I am on a different sheet of music when it comes to politics and religion as compared to RW, but his talent in song writing, lyrics, ability to make "thinking" music is unsurpassed ! All of his solo albums are excellent (not to mention his contribution in PF).

Sir Roger Waters 🧡
[Verse 1]
If I had been God
I would have rearranged the veins
In the face to make them more resistant
To alcohol and less prone to aging
If I had been God
I would have sired many sons
And I would not have suffered
The Romans to kill even one of them
[Chorus 1]
If I had been God with my staff and my rod
If I had been given the nod
I believe I could have done a better job
[Verse 2]
And if I were a drone
Patrolling foreign skies
With my electronic eyes for guidance
And the element of surprise
[Chorus 2]
I would be afraid to find someone home
Maybe a woman at a stove
Baking bread, making rice
Or just boiling down some bones
If I were a drone
[Interlude]
[Outro]
The temple's in ruins
The bankers get fat
The buffalo's gone
And the mountain top's flat
The trout in the streams are all hermaphrodites
You lean to the left but you vote to the right
And it feels like déjà vu
The sun goes down and I'm still missing you
Counting the cost of love that got lost
And under my Gulf Stream, in circular pools
There's ninety-nine cents
Worth of drunkards and fools
According to Roger Waters, there are two verses in the song that the director Nigel Godrich removed on the final cut to make the record fit the run time of 54 minutes. Otherwise, the album would have run over 60 minutes which according to Roger would be a disaster.
The Two verses were suppose to be in the last part of the song and they go like this:
{Verse 4}
And if I were a Muslim
And you were a Jew
If I were a Mennonite
And you were an Hindu
Would we exchange
The weight of these chains
Chains of belief
And the carnage on the trains to turn over a new leaf
{Verse 5}
If I had been god
I would not have chosen anyone
I would have laid an even hand
On all my children everyone
Would have been content
To forgo Ramadan and Lent
Time better spent
In the company of friends
Breaking bread and mending nets
WHAT? this is 2021. Who buys "albums" anymore? A digital file can be whatever the hell size it needs to be. And I'm an old dude who should be bitching they don't release 8 Tracks anymore.
